Is it a bad sign for the vacation when you faint on the plane? COMPLETED!

Wonderful update, thank you! I find it totally amusing that you and Jackie managed to post virtually the same photo. :goodvibes And I get to read about bats twice this week, go figure.

I'm loving all these Animal Kingdom pictures. :thumbsup2

Hi Heidi!! Just read your update from Conservation Station... it brought back some bad memories for me... I'm glad Liam did flip out with the goats because we had some BAD goat experiences with Alex. The first time was when he was a toddler and we went into a little goat petting zoo - he was really scared - I just assumed it was because they were bigger than him. He is still scared to death of them - and all animals for that matter. When we went on a field trip in Kindergarten, he said he wanted to go into the goat area, but he ended up trying to climb up on my shoulders! :scared1: We won't be visiting any goats anytime soon!

Now on to your next update!

I love the bats....I think their wings are the coolest thing....

Those bats freak me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Viewing the Tigers is the only time I had an issue with other guests being rude and hogging the windows and cutting in front of me. And they were pulling that 'I don't speak English BS'. I hope a Dirty Bird pooped on them...you know Karma and all.

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Hidden Mickey alert....actually this one is really easy

I thought it was in the clouds...

DH loved how this vine attaches itself to the tree.

Very cool!!

Great update!! I really need to take a walk down that trail one of these years...

I still have a lot more AK pictures to share.

That must be hard having a child who is scared of animals. Liam isn't at all. I think it really helps that we had 2 big dogs since his birth (we currently only have one and Liam has started to really play with him and feed him dog food by the handful! ugh!)

Those bats freak me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They eat fruit! not blood.....geez.

Great update!! I really need to take a walk down that trail one of these years...

Good luck with that. You don't like the bats (which you can by-pass by the way) and Alex is afraid of animals; that should be an interesting walk.

I hope a Dirty Bird pooped on them...you know Karma and all.

That dirty bird story is hilarious, it will never get old, I love it :thumbsup2.

Great pictures Heidi, I don't like people that use the "don't speak english" excuse either, nothing ever gives you an excuse for cutting and being rude!

Great Update and Great photos!! You took some amazing shots of that walking trail!!! I really can't wait to walk both trails this time. I just did the tigers and bats in January so I can't wait to go find the gorillas this time!!!

Really enjoying reading about your trip Heidi!!!!

I love the pics of AK. The detailing is just amazing and so immersive. I would have wanted to take the bike out for a spin too!

The bat picture with the sun shining through it's wings kinda creeps me out for some reason. :scared: Normally I love the bats, but they look extra creepy with the wings spread out like that.

Great pictures. I thought I must be really dumb not to be able to find that easy hidden Mickey in the first picture, but realized when I saw the second picture that maybe I wasn't as dumb as I thought. It is a cool hidden Mickey.

Next up was lunch. Since we were in Asia we decided to give the Yak and Yeti Local Cafe a try. Lunch was probably the only frustrating part of the day. I screwed up the excution of lunch and got annoyed because of it. I asked DH to get us lunch and then I would get Liam some Corn Dog Nuggets ($3.89) from the Mr. Kamal stand. Well DH took forever and I went to see what was taking so long. When I found him, he had just gotten the food but forgot to get us cups of ice.....we had only been doing that for a week now but I didn't remind him so it didn't get done :headache: Then it took forever to get cups of ice. Then I had to get Liam his lunch....which took forever and a day. I told myself that next time we would fed the child first and then us....it just seems to work better that way. Anyhoo.....we had a nice table by the water. DH and I both got the Crispy Honey Chicken with rice ($9 each). It wasn't bad, I wouldn't get it again, but I wouldn't tell anyone not to try it. And Brook-- I don't know how you eat those corn dog nuggets...blech....Liam wouldn't even eat them.

These are pictures I took on our walk to the Tree of Life

Our next stop was a Discovery Island Trail....there seems to be no signs to this path and it's incredible! It's not even on the Disney map. If you look at a park map of AK, one end of the trail starts just above where the number 3 in a circle is. The other end of the trail is behind the FastPass machines for It's Tough to be a Bug. We really took our time on this trail and I took tons of pictures....a lot more than what I'm posting.

Can't say I "love" them (creepy!) but I certainly do "respect" them!

Sounds funny... "Respect the Bats....Or Else!"

Love your Hidden Mickey shot... I forgot that was there! Think I'll try to look for more next time!

What gorgeous pictures Heidi!! I can't believe how close you were to the Tree of Life. Just simply breathtaking!!!

(we currently only have one and Liam has started to really play with him and feed him dog food by the handful! ugh!)

:rotfl: had a good snicker w/ this comment....

Margaret likes to do the same things, but one up....she'll take Maggie's (our dog) food and water bowls and try and carry them out to her bed area

Love all your pictures...I agree w/ other posters about them making me want to be back at AK right now. I havn't taken the trials in along time, so they are probably alot cooler than I remember!

Oh and read about the "secret" back trail bhind the tree (that's the one you went on?) on another thread here on AK. I want to walk that too, looks like some great shots and probably not crowded either.

In the above picture….see how there looks to be a shuttered window and then a little ledge? Well I read somewhere that the Pixar ball is/was suppose to come out that window and bounce up and down.

Here’s the Pixar ball so you know what I’m talking about.

I just had to update an earlier part of my TR. I just read on allearsnet that Luxo Jr. is now appearing! This is so cool....I can't wait to see it this October!

From allearsnet:
Luxo Jr., the lamp that hops around the Pixar logo before every theatrical release of the company, is making appearances on Pixar Place in Disney's Hollywood Studios. The Audio-Animatronics version of Luxo Jr. recently debuted across from the Toy Story Midway Mania! attraction, popping up unexpectedly in a second-story window in the Lighting Company building. During the day, you may catch Luxo Jr. dancing to the beat of country, disco and Disney tunes. At night, he "conducts" the colored lights in the trees of Pixar Place. Appearance times aren't advertised, but as weather permits, Luxo Jr. hops from behind a shuttered window every 15 minutes.
