What do you love most about Walt Disney World?

After reading a thread entitled "What decision has Disney made that makes no sense to you?" I am thoroughly depressed.

Please share with me the things in WDW that keep drawing you and your family back for more!!



I'll start by saying what draws me and my family back are the little things that happen at random.

My first visit with my oldest son, we were waiting at the Main Street Station on the Walt Disney World Railroad to board the train. As we were waiting a station attendant approached my son and presented him with a "Guest Conductor" ticket and told him to see the conductor at the back of the train.

Once there the conductor talked to my son for a few moments and then asked him if he could soud the "All Aboard" for the train. My son was so excited and screamed out a resounding AAALLLLLLLLLL AAAHHHHBBOOOOAAARRRD!! over the train's PA system.

Later along the ride he was prompted to press the buttons for the soundtracks that play along the route.

It was so memorable to see my son's eyes light up, especially since he is a complete train fanatic.

This was a magical moment that to this day my son talks about.

That was a pretty good magical moment for his first ride ever in a Disney Park...needless to say he is now a WDW fan for life...as am I.

For us, its the CMs who make the entire trip. They never fail to "harrass" my kids in one form or another, and now that they're in their late teens, they razz right back. We also enjoy the CMs showing us where the hidden mickeys are, chatting up the kids, walking down the streets showing us different things, the list is endless. We get so much enjoyment out of it. For all the things that are gone, we don't dwell on them. There's a ton of stuff we miss, obviously, but they're not the main reasons for going. Each time we go there's at least 10 new outrageous new memories made, and each trip is special. For us there's no point in grumble-pussing about the way things were when the way things are, and are going to be, are just as interesting. Except Stitch's Great Escape. THAT can disappear any time!!

Couldn't agree more with Dizz. The CM's are truly the ones behind the magic. As a retail Manager I take every opportunity with my staff to use Disney as an example of how to do things properly. As we are from Ohio and have 2 very nice theme parks within an hour or two away I can honestly say that it is due to the level of customer service Disney provides that keeps us coming back.

My favorite thing about Disney World is bringing someone who has never been. I hype it a lot but it still lives up to the hype to newbies. The cleanliness usually strikes them, and then just going on all the rides for the first time, I get a kick out of the looks on their faces.

I dont think I pick pick something I love the most! ALL OF IT!

I'm not a very emotional person but am reduced to tears (good tears) constantly there!

For instance...
We went to Garden Grill one night for dinner DS2 had just discovered the moon and when the restaurant turns you go through the part of the ride w/ the moon. As we are at this part Dale happens to come to our table. DS2 looks at Dale and says "look Dale its the moon". At which point Dale went over to the railing and stood w/ DS2 for several minutes watching the moon!

I love that on our last trip for 10 whole days our biggest worry was which ride we wanted to do next and where we were going to eat!

Plain and simple I love seeing Cindy's castle and the Partners statue in front of it. I'm also always impressed by how clean the parks are and generally how friendly the guests are in the parks....not to mention the CMs.

I love hearing the excitement in the morning. In the value resorts, it's hearing the people walk back and forth to the food court, talking and laughing and running. I don't mind hearing excited people in the morning. For me, Disney is not a "vacation" in that I don't lie around and sleep the days away like I might in Maine. It IS a trip and I have to do the planning but getting to share in everybody's excitement greatly contributes to my excitement and enjoyment.
Otherwise, what keeps bringing my family and me (I?) back is the magic. There are very few theme parks in our area that cater so much to families with small children. And where else can you get a themed hotel room? I also like the little touches like Hidden Mickeys and the dumb jokes at the Jungle Cruise and such tiny touches as the flickering lights on the walkway from Wilderness Lodge to the bus stop or Villas.

I have to say everything
They don't call it the happiest place on earth for nothing.

But the best experience was taking my boyfriend for his first trip 2 years ago. He had the idea firmly planted in his head that it was just like any other amusement park that he had been to just bigger and more rides.
He walks into the resort that we were staying at ( pop century) and knew it was going to be different hes running around taking pictures of everything and hes telling me how this is so cool. I tell him just to wait until he sees the parks. We went to the Magic Kingdom and when he first saw main street he was in disbelief and awe when he saw at. He looks at me and says your right this is nothing like any place else in the world.
I almost cried.
He is now a huge Disney fan and he can't wait until we go back in August.

The CMs! They make the trip special. They're kind, considerate, engaging. I think they are the magic of Disney World!

I completely understand, most people get really annoyed at the children running down the corridors at value resorts but I think it's so endearing... that kid is incredibly lucky, happy and he/she knows it. That excitement in that kid makes me so happy.

I also enjoy the hustle and bustle of the resort in the AM, the only thing that makes me sad is seeing the people with their luggage knowing they're leaving.


There are 3 things I absolutely love about Disney World.

1. The anticipation. I love booking the vacation, I love looking for my potential ADRs, I love looking at park, food and resort photos, I love making a spread sheet for planning, I love making the ADRs, I love when my trip is paid in full, I love when we get the ME tags... I even love the journey in the air.

2. Main Street USA. Going down Main Street USA for the first time in the trip is always the best moment of our vacation.

3. Knowing that I will be back again.

The atmosphere!!!! All the music, nice people, sunshine - it all makes me feel so good!

Things I love about WDW:

Savoring the moment When I'm walking around a Disney park, I love to just stop and look at all the great stuff around me. Sometimes that bugs the people behind me, but this isn't about them.

Resting It gets tiring walking around the parks, but fortunately they rent ECVs to anyone with the cash! So when I'm feeling tired, I grab one and effortlessly zoom around the park. I think it's great ECVs have horns to warn people to get out of my way. Then if they don't move, there's no guilt.

Saving Time Most of the people visiting WDW are deeply stupid, so if I tell them I'm just catching up with my party, they'll let me go right to the front of the line. (I know a lot of people like Fastpass, but who wants to hassle with that? This is easier, and it saves a Fastpass for the kind of people who like that sort of thing.)

Saving Money Disney gives away a lot of free stuff -- especially in response to complaints. So I make sure to find something negative about every experience I have there, and to let a cast member know. Sometimes they don't give me anything but an apology, but then I just escalate it up the ladder until I get something. I got a stay in the castle suite that way last year!

I could go on, but I'll just say that WDW is my magical place and I wish I could be there with all my DISser friends who have given me so many great tips over the years.

I would say the ambiance. There is so much attention to detail with rides, resorts, restaurants, shops, costumes etc. There is specially themed music and effects to enhance your experience as well. You can kinda just relax and imagine yourself in their land of fantasy.

Every year its the same question...when are we going back?

For me, it is the atmosphere or ambiance - whichever you want to say. There is simply something about it.

I love the early mornings when it is still and everything is just waking up. You can physically feel the excitement building for the new day.

I love dusk/night at the parks. I think one of my favorite memories was in 2006 and I was at the Studios. Fantasmic had just let out and it was EMH hours. Of course everyone headed directly from the amphitheater to TOT and RnR and the lines were huge so I decided to skip the attractions. Instead I spend time just wondering around Hollywood Blvd. listening to the background music and feeling the magic.

I love everything about WDW!!! The CM's are all so amazing, the atmosphere, the pure magic. Truly Hakuna Matata. (spelling?) Everything is just so... wow. You leave the "real" world behind you and enter a place of pure fantasy...

I especially love walking down Main Street USA on the first day. Seeing
Cinderella Castle makes my eyes tear up every time.

I always cry at WDW, in a good way.
The magic is overwhelming and WDW is just so magical...
