.

Thanks Ian for the update.

Reminder to all: Sign up opportunity is on page 1 post 1 Please register your preferences.

Lanyand list is being kept by Monica who may be back from her FANTASTIC BEACH HOLIDAY by the time I post this.

I will be updating Page 1 posts 1 and 2 this afternoon. We had our DSL machine die last week so over the weekend our DSs helped DH buy a new one while we were in PA to see DG and DGD. :grouphug:

We will see them all again on THIS CRUISE!!

Ok, here's another. My b'day is 09-13. Will they do anything special for me w/out me purchasing the "b'day celebration package"?

Have your birthday noted on your reservation (through your TA or DCL if you booked directly). That night your servers will bring out a cake and sing to you.

ood thing it's early in the trip as we've never managed to get the cake eaten unless we were at a big table. You might find you'll be having some for breakfast! :lmao: It's not a fancy cake....I'll see if I can find a picture for you.

.

We didn't get anything on the cruise where we celebrated our 10th anniversary :sad2:

Hopefully they will get DD's birthday (and I WILL remind them as a good mommy should!)

Can you add me to the list on page 1? I am new to this site and still trying to learn my way around it.
keisha1
2 adults - Keisha and Tom
2 kids - Sophie (7) and Noah (4)
interested in FE - but don't know much about it
Trying to meet families w/ kids the same ages as mine. Would like them to have some friends to meet up with at the kids club.

You are now added to page 1 post 1 alphabetically by DIS name.

:boat: WELCOME ABOARD :sail:

Scan that list for DIS names of people with kids the same ages as yours and send them PMs. Do you know how to do that?

Check post 1 as I am also moving Ian's description of the activities over there at the top with the sign up information. That may answer your questions about the Fish Extenders. If not, ask away. We do not mind answering questions no matter if we have answered them already or not. ::yes::

Any questions?

Reminding is ALWAYS a good idea. Also is mentioning it if you would like that cake to the CHOCOLATE. :thumbsup2

Hello, fellow Tortolan cruisers!!!

Just checking to say I probably won't be around for a while as I'm off to Southern Spain in the morning for an extended sojourn in the sun and I'm not sure that I'll be able to readily access the internet... I don't get back till August 1st, so I'll wish you all a fab July... TTFN!!! :goodvibes

I still have a few questions about the FE.
What types of items do people use for this?
Do I need to buy a special pocket thing to hang on the fish? I've seen a picture of this so I get the idea. Where do you get the hanging thing w/ the pockets? Do people use different things for this?
ARe the gifts left each day or just one day or what?

Enjoy your hols Karen!!

Well, I am going to celebrate our wedding anniversary the whole cruise......make that both cruises!!!:rotfl2:

Birthday cake. This has a bit of glare on the cake, but you can get the idea. It was a white cake with whipped cream frosting. Quite tasty actually. I suggest you EAT or remove the strawberries before putting leftovers in your cool-box in your stateroom. They will spoil before the cake would...and who wants mouldy strawberries growing on your cake!

The do have a chocolate version of this (though if that's what you'd prefer, be sure and tell your servers the first night). The 'happy birthday' part is done in white chocolate too!

Then you won't notice that I'm not speaking to you because you get ANOTHER fabulous vacation! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Have a great time and see you in August! :grouphug:

Whew! Just under the wire!
I'm on the cruise, too. :wave2:
(I'll PM someone with the details)
Traveling alone so don't ask me any questions about children.
I'm celebrating a birthday on 9/27 but this was the closest cruise I could get to the date. Do you think Mickey will let me celebrate it? :cake:

:sail: WELCOME ABOARD :boat:

You are now on page 1 post 1. The * means we know you are coming on this cruise with us. Send a photo and it will be added to post 2 if you like. Check the info provided by others and post it here if you want anything more added there.

As has already been said, Mickey does not check your Driver's License for actual dates, you can celebrate whatever you want, whenever you want at Disney. :lmao:

We are celebrating my :earsgirl: Birthday which is on my Driver's License as occurring in March :scared1:,

the Anniversary of DS#1  and DG :lovestruc which might be said to be in May,

our 40th Anniversary :earsgirl::earsboy: which on paper occurs in August,

my DG's :lovestruc (Darling Girl--DS#1's wife) and Husband's :earsboy: birthdays which are in October,

DS#1  and DS#2's  birthdays which are in November,

CBITW (Cutest Baby In The World)'s :cutie: Birthday which is in December

and TOGETHERNESS :grouphug: as we are all on this cruise together.

We will not request any special desserts however because we don't eat dessert often and when we do we prefer ordering off the menu to the prefab cake they bring to the table. We are also not big on being sung to in public (but if someone :lovestruc wants to correct me, she knows who she is and can do so on the thread or privately....)

Just so there is no confusion - this is the free celebration cake you get at dinner, not to be confused with the cake that you get as part of the Celebrations package which includes decorations and cake in your stateroom. I'll see if I can find a picture of that cake.

If anyone finds out about FL, please let me know. Keeping fingers crossed that they will become available.

I did check online last week, but they were still not there. DU should also be keeping an eye out for me (but I still keep checking!)

:confused3 What are you looking for Kay? :confused3

what is the bday celebration package? are there other celebration packages?

I'll take the second question first. On the DCL website there are room decoration packages you can buy. A bon voyage package and a birthday package (and I don't remember what else). It is put up by your room steward on embarkation day and is there when you first enter your stateroom. Take a look on the DCL site for what all is included. EDITED TO ADD: Kay is looking for a picture of that cake...the photos on the Disney site are TINY'

There are several FE threads, some with photos of assorted 'gifts'. I think there's a link in the FAQ section...I'll see if I can find it for you.

Yes, you need some kind of 'pouch' outside your door. People have used holiday stockings, decorated small 'tote' bags and the traditional pocket holders you've seen photos of. Cheri (NotSoLittleMermaid) has a darling one made like a holiday stocking but with 'under the sea' fabric that she embellished with beads. Somethiing like that would be easier to make than the pocket kind I would think. You can sometimes find some on e-bay also.

As far as gifts go, there are no 'rules'. You can do (and spend) whatever you want. Traditionally the gifts are small dollar store or home made items: pencils, pirate tatoos, rulers, notebooks, magnets, bookmarks, edible treats. Usually folks just make one delivery sometime during the cruise.

A note about food. If you plan on brining packaged treats onto the ship, it's a good idea to bring them in your carry on luggage. Basically, you don't want to pack ANYTHING that would alert the sniffer dogs!

Some folks bring treats for the cast memebers too. I just saw in a trip report where someone brought candy bars to give to the room service people along with their tip...they LOVED that! (I had visions of the cast members fighting over who would deliver to their stateroom.)

I'll go find those links now............

I hope we didn't scare them away.

Woody

I sent PMs to everyone who had no * a couple weeks ago. There were 5 people who either did not accept PMs or whom the DIS Boards would not permit to accept PMs.

Some have checked in with me and been removed from the list as they had to change their plans.

Some did not know PMs existed so they did not write back quickly and apologized when they did write for taking so long.

Some have checked in on the Thread and are now posting.

One admitted that we had overwhelmed her, but she gave us another chance and is holding her own. I do think you may be right however as our group from the Westbound Panama Canal can seem formidable.

My assumption is that those who are on the list with no * are those who do not want to participate, do not know about PMs or are not coming.

Unless you all want me to write to them again, I will let it be. :confused3
