"This Isn't Disneyworld. . .It's Rainworld!!" our trip to WDW May 16-23, 2009

I hope your migrane goes away and you feel better, looking forward to the next update :)

I'm much better, thank you!! I'm hoping to update later tonight if I can get some peace and quiet here!! (lots of family all in one house!)

Subbing--be back to read later!

Welcome!! So glad you are joining in!!

Happy 4th of July everybody!! We're headed to Brent's aunt's house in a bit to swim and cookout!! I hope to update later tonight if I can get some peace and quiet!! I hope everybody has a wonderful day with their family and friends!!

So when I left off the girls were meeting Rafiki and Meeko (BTW--did you know that Rafiki means "friend" in Swahili? I learned that while teaching VBS this summer). Anywho, the girls said their goodbyes, we turned around, and there were our friends from church!! (the ones we had hung out with at HS the day before) We had planned on getting together on this day as it was their last day in the parks--they would be leaving to go home on Tuesday. So we didn't even have to search for each other! Ally was so excited to see her friend Lexi!!

We waited for Lexi to meet Rafiki & Meeko and then we headed to Aloha Isle for Dole Whips!! YUM! None of us had ever had a Dole Whip before. Then we headed over towards the castle to see the "Celebrate the Dream Come True" Parade at 3:00 p.m. Thankfully the rain decided to hold off while we watched the parade.

I took a quick pic of the back of Ally's hair--soo cute!!

I was pretty pleased with where we stood--we could see pretty well.

Becky - I have been reading your trip report tonight and really enjoying it! Your girls are just precious! We have a DD who will be 5 in a couple of weeks and she is a Disney Princess FAN! I saw that you make and sell the hair bows that your girls wear. Would you mind sending me a pm with your website? We are going again in Sept and I would love to surprise Brooke with some new bows!

After the parade was over we headed back to Fantasyland to ride the teacups. The girls LOVED this ride!!

421.jpg

We also rode the Winnie the Pooh and Snow White rides and saw Philharmagic (we walked right in)! Heather, Mike, & Lexi had dinner reservations that evening so we went our separate ways (we would meet back up with them after dinner). We decided to head to Toontown and check out the wait for the Fairies. The fairies were a 75 minute wait and the princesses were only 15--so we went with the princesses. We knew we'd be back to MK 2 more days so it wasn't an issue.
423.jpg

As we stood in line Claire started to lose it! She was hungry and DID NOT want to stand in this line (Brent had left her bag of snacks in the stroller outside). She kept running into people and just acting insane! I was so embarassed so Brent decided it would be best if he took her to get a snack while we met the princesses. I really would have liked to have gotten pics of Claire with the princesses but I knew she wouldn't have done well being so cranky--next time! Anyway, the line went pretty quickly and before we knew it Ally was dancing with Aurora!!

I was so impressed with how much time these princesses took with Ally!! We did not feel rushed at all!! It was wonderful!

Next was Cinderella!!

And finally--Belle!!

As we headed down the hallway to leave we ran into this beautiful lady!!
468.jpg

They had brought Mary Poppins inside due to the rain!! What a nice surprise!! After Ally hugged Mary Poppins we found Brent and Claire. Claire seemed to be in better spirits after snacking on some Goldfish. We headed outside and it was pouring again! So I took Ally into Minnie's house while Brent strolled around Toontown with Claire. It was packed!! It seemed that everyone had the same idea to get out of the rain.
472.jpg

But we took our time and let the rooms clear out before we headed in.

I thought this was a cute list!

Ally really enjoyed how interactive the gadgets were in the kitchen!

Ally said, "Look Mom!! It's Minnie's Bible!"

Next we decided to tour Mickey's house! There was hardly anyone inside so in we went!

We met back up with Brent and Claire and rode Jungle Cruise. Then we decided we had better find somewhere to eat before we had to meet back up with our friends. So we walked and walked and just couldn't figure out where we were going to eat (we were looking for a counter service place). We FINALLY decided on Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square. It ended it being very good! I had chicken and Brent had fish. Ally had the mac and cheese and Claire LOVED my french fries!! While we were eating we got a call from our friends--they were back at MK. Before we had split up we had gotten Fastpasses for Peter Pan's Flight. So the plan was to meet back up with them there. We waited maybe 10 minutes and then we were on the ride! Ally REALLY enjoyed this ride and wanted to ride again. The regular line was WAY too long so we told her we'd come back another day. Then we headed over to It's A Small World and walked right on!! Claire just ADORED this ride!!

When we got off the ride it was around 8:30 p.m. so we decided to scope out some seats for Spectromagic. The rain had stopped again and we found a great spot sitting in Liberty Square right across the street from the Liberty Bell. We broke out the glow necklaces/bracelets and some Cheeze-Its for the girls to snack on.
533.jpg

As we waited a really nice CM from the Jungle Cruise entertained the girls and talked to us for quite awhile. She even gave the girls some Mickey stickers! (note: later in the week we ran into her again at Jungle Cruise and she called Ally & Claire by name! I couldn't believe she remembered their names! I was IMPRESSED!!)

It was difficult to find a good setting on my camera but I ended up getting some good pics (some were blurry and some weren't--there didn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it).

We all really enjoyed Spectro!! The lights, the music, the characters--it was all fabulous!! We were so glad that it wasn't rained out! And now it was time to see Wishes at 10 p.m.!
633.jpg

The castle was sooo very pretty all lit up!

As we were waiting for Wishes to start NBA Star Tim Duncan walked right past us with his family! That was really cool--I couldn't believe how TALL he was in person!!

It was a great way to end the day!! So we said our goodbyes to our friends and I took one last picture of Lexi & Ally.

We were all tired so we took the monorail back to the Poly and went right to bed!

Up Next: Day 4 at Animal Kingdom and dinner @ O'hana (11 inches of rain in ONE Day!)

What a great day! even with the rain... the girls look like they really enjoyed MK. I did not notice the hole in the wall at Mickey's house (it was so crowded)... your Spectro pics came out great...Claire's face is priceless. We missed the parades I had planned for them and for some reason didn't catch them ... oh well all the more reason to go back next year...
looking forward to your AK day...
