We just got back from the FW (had a wonderful time)and I just do not understand why they are so expensive. 57.00 including tax!!!!! A e-z-go sales for about 7,000.00. I guess i just want to wine. The fort was great though.

We rode our bikes most of the week and then I rented one for 3 days. I rented one because some friends came and stayed with us and she was prego. It was alot of fun riding around on.

You think that's amazing. For about the same money you can rent two bikes for an AFTERNOON (no overnights) and they are worth maybe $400 for the pair! The answer, as Jen said, is because it's Disney and people are willing to pay that price.

:santa:

Because the air in the tires of the golf carts is filled with official Mickey breath! It takes alot of money to make that magical ride happen!

My next visit to the Fort I am going to sublet my grill for 57 bucks a day. Rental also allows one child the benefit of riding their bike around the loop, but only if they promise not to talk to me. I have heard there is a demand for this.

The tires are filled with gas from Mickey, but it's not his breath.

Best thread reference EVAH.... :worship:

if you visit the Fort regularly like my family does (we try at least every few months) it would be worth it to purchase your own cart. Make sure you have a way to get it there also. You can pick up a decent plain cart on craigslist for an average of $1000. Of course the modified ones go for much more. We got fed up with the expensive rental charge especially when you stay for a week.

I personally won't rent one due to the cost. We bring our own bikes and always get in a loop around the meadows area. We either walk, bike or bus around the campground.

Because Disney loves you. They want you to enjoy the very most of the Disney Experience possible. And part of that is Disney Magic,,it's extremely Magical how fast Disney can drain your wallet.

we never paid to rent a gc. family members have but, not us. that just isn't sensible. we ended up buying one last summer and love it. yeah, we have to tow it down there but, figure it out. it doesn't take to many rentals to have a gc paid for....

This is appearently part of the magic I enjoy :sad2: I go to the grocery store and then gripe about the price of groceries. I stop to get gas and then gripe about the gas prices. I send my kids to summer camp but not before griping about how over priced it is.

But I hang up from from making my Disney reservations where they have taken me for at least double the cost I usually pay for a campsite and I celebrate :cool1: I will then, again without complaint, rent a golf cart for more money per day than it takes to feed my entire family of 5:confused3

Is it an illness? Come to think of it, I don't ever complain about beer prices either:scratchin

Golf Enterprises offered us for Oct 09-7 days 4-4person carts delivery/pickup and tax $218 each. Much better than the $400+.

It's disney and we all know disney can charge what ever they want and someone will spend it.

While the golf carts look like fun, they are too expensive for our budget. We can stay a few extra days on what it would cost to rent. We bring our bikes and get plenty of exercise. I love riding the trail from FW to Wilderness Lodge. We go over once or twice a trip for lunch. With all the food and stuff we consume on vacation, at least with the bikes I feel like I'm counterbalancing it somewhat.

I got tired of renting golf carts from Disney; too expensive. I just purchased a sweet golf cart for under $5000. It's got a back seat, 6-inch lift kit, underneath lighting and rain cover. No more renting for me.:cool1::cool1:

DH had been buggin me for years about getting his own GC- when I saw what Disney charges, I gave in and let him get it... it will pay for itself in 52 days of Disney camping....lol :lmao: I think I'll be halfway there by the end of the year!!!:cool1:

Why would you care how expensive they are? Go back to your millions and start spending some loot around the Poly. Why would you buy your own cart when your FIL or inlaws would do it for you? Hope to see you soon.
