Thanks a bunch :goodvibes SBP is such a fantastic location, I am so happy that I picked it. I'm sure you've already read it, but just in case, this is my favorite wedding trip report ever and is the one that basically cemented my decision to have the ceremony at SBP :cutie:

I really thought I posted on here but I just tried finding my post and I can't find it so I guess I didn't. I read through your PJ and your teaser pictures are amazing. Your dress is gorgeous. Donald and Daisy are adorable. I can't wait to read more. And if I did post already and say the same thing, sorry... I've lost my mind I think. Oh, and I'm a teacher also, so I know the pain of having to plan vacations for summers etc.

Your photography is wonderful! I can't wait to see the rest of them. The close up of your face is truly gorgeous! I'm glad you had such a wonderful day!!

Thanks so much :goodvibes Also, Hey fellow teacher! I hope you are enjoying your summer vacation! It's a great job but the vacation caveat does suck. I get really jealous when I read trip reports about walking on the rides in the middle of the day in February, free dining, Garden festival, Food/Wine festival, etc...and here I am planning my commando, rope drop warrior trips during the summer and Christmas :surfweb:

Your photography is wonderful! I can't wait to see the rest of them. The close up of your face is truly gorgeous! I'm glad you had such a wonderful day!!

Thank you so much! :goodvibes It means a lot that people compliment the photography. I hope that it all turns out as nice as the teasers.

You Disney brides make me want to get married all over again. How gorgeous everything looks. It really is the most magical place for a wedding. Congratulations!

Your pics are so pretty and I loove love the one in your siggy! You look soo pretty!!!!

Tuning in... your pictures are gorgeous and I can't wait to see your dp photos especially since we are doing a dp and waffling back/forth over the photos. What did you get for the $350... any pictures included in that price at all?

I actually paid around $745 for the DP photos because the actual photography is $350 and the high-res disc is $395. I don't know what prints you get because I got the disc instead.

I feel like I needed the disc because I am going to make a blurb book.

The pictures are not good and nowhere near worth what I paid for. But honestly, you don't really have a choice. It's either Disney photography or nothing :sad2:

I will go into more detail when I start my TR, but I am not going to do so until I get the Studio 222 pics.

I can't wait to hear what you have to say about Studio 222! I love what I see from your teasers, and I'm starting to look into photographers now! Thanks for sharing your opinion!!

I'm still waiting on the pictures :surfweb: Hopefully this patience is all worth it! I'm sure it will be though. I kind of already semi-reviewed them and I am so pleased I chose Studio 222. Becka and Nate were extremely nice and friendly. I would contact them immediately though if you are interested...let me explain why.

And brace yourself because I'm about to make a short story long :cutie:

I'll be honest here about photography for the sake of helping others in the future. I wavered a long time on photography. Originally I was just so happy DH & family agreed to a Disney wedding and I assumed that it was basically going to be a bare bones $4500 budget...I'd wear my prom dress, we'd eat at Ohaha's afterwords in regular clothes, and I'd have Disney photography. Well as time went on, I learned we had more money than I thought...

So I started obsessively researching extras. As soon as I got on the disboards, everyone seemed to have outside photographers, and everyone seemed to go with Randy. So I looked into him and that's what I thought I would go with because he was was only $600 some dollars.

Then as the researching :surfweb: went on I discovered the Roots from people's journals. I really like their style a lot more. So I emailed them and they quoted $2500 for 4 hours. I thought, eh, that's way to expensive and let it go. Well as time went on (about 4-5 months) I became more obsessive and thought I would always regret it if I did not have the photos in a style I wanted, and maybe I should just cough up the $2500; so I emailed them again. Their prices went up and it was now $4000 for 4 hours :scared1: Because I had a summer/weekend wedding, they couldn't adjust the price, which is understandable. But they were nice enough to recommend up and coming photographers, Studio 222.

Studio 222 charged me $1200 for 4 hours :thumbsup2. So I guess the lesson is to research and book your photographer as soon as possible. One reason is you want to make sure you secure the date. The second reason is you want to secure the price before they explode in popularity and raise them :thumbsup2

Katie,
I know you didn't post them here...but I saw your honeymoon shoot pics on a thread on the main board....I think they turned out pretty well! I liked them better than mine, you guys looked so cute! That being said it's a bummer you were unhappy with the DP pics...we had the same photographer you did for our HM shoot, and some of our pics were extremely over or under exposed, shadows on faces that type of thing. All that said...the ceremony pictures of yours that I have seen are beautiful!:) I can't wait to see the rest of them!

Your pictures are wonderful. I appreciate your input on the thread I put up. I can't wait to read your TR, your wedding looks beautiful!

Aww thanks :goodvibes I didn't really care about the honeymoon shots and I agree with what you said in the thread...we weren't too concerned because we knew we had so many other pictures coming (ceremony, DP, snapshots from guests, photopass from during the trip.)

Just joining in....love your PJ. Everything was so informative. I thought I had done a good deal of research and had a lot figured out, but you really added a bunch of great info.

Can't wait to read your TR when you start it! :thumbsup2 And, I agree with everyone...your teaser pictures are great!

Well I am bored and really want to start my TR but can't, so I will talk a little bit about the Disney DP pictures since I have been bringing it up in other threads.

I guess I am being harsh on the photographer because some of the DP shots are very technically well done. Nicely composed, great colors, etc. I am mostly just disappointed in the lack of good fireworks shots and the lack of candid shots of me and DH during the actual party.

I'll say it again. SIX shots of my sister (and I have TWO of them. Only one got attention). None of me. :sad2:

I guess I'll add some pictures to justify the smack I am talking...

Forest Fire in EPCOT. RUN!

Stuff like this goes on and on. There is basically one good fireworks pictures. Many of the pictures are bad because me and Michael look bad. I guess you could blame us because we were awkwardly posed. Michael wasn't smiling (he said he thought he was and he was so afraid to move because the only direction we got was "don't move"). So I blame myself a little, but honestly a little direction would have helped tremendously. Aside from, uh, FREAKING YEARBOOK PHOTOS, we have NEVER had professional pictures taken. We don't know how to pose or what looks awkward. :headache:

I'll post more when I get to the DP in the official TR. Still waiting on those ceremony pics :surfweb:

Like I said, I feel bad especially if the photographer ever reads this because he was nice and there WERE some decent shots. Look at this one of DH and his sister.

Beautiful right? Perfect colors. Great stuff in the background. My beef is that there are no shots of me or my family that look like this.

All the family shots of me are facing Morocco. So everything is very orange and over exposed and washed out. I have been playing with lighting in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop and printing out test copies at Walgreens. The original untouched print is ridiculous. Now I realize my edited version might not look great. It looks a little grey to me. BUT I ADMIT DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING :scared:

ORIGINAL
Me, mom, and sister 1 were not orange like that. My father is not a tomato, and sister 2 does not glow like casper.

EDITED BY ME IN LIGHTROOM
It's still not perfect, but it's better than the original, right?

Some might say I am being conceited, but seriously there were only 12 people there...there should be good pictures of me and my family. I shouldn't have to fake my way through these programs I know nothing about trying to salvage what little there is :sad2:

OMG, Patrick and I are laughing our butts off over here!

I am so sorry to hear about your photos, and I totally agree with you about the variety and quality of shots. We both think you did a great job fixing that family photo, too.

I would urge you to consider telling Disney Event Photography how you feel about the photos because I have this naive hope that if enough people complain they will finally acknowledge the problems and attempt to fix them. When we complained, they acted like we were the only people on the planet ever to have had a problem with their photos and therefore must be crazy. :sad2:

Now... more bad photos with funny captions, sez I! popcorn:: :rotfl:

Just joining in....love your PJ. Everything was so informative.

thanks :goodvibes I really debated even doing a TR but in the end this board helped me sooooooo much I felt obligated and hope that something I write helps at least one person :thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:...

I would urge you to consider telling Disney Event Photography how you feel...

Hahaha, glad I made you laugh. Glad to hear that the editing looks ok. It's hard to do because all the pictures colors look different on each of the computers we have and when you open them in Photoshop the colors change ...I dunno. The edited prints from Walgreens look decent and that's all I care about. It's all about making a good blurb book at the end of the day :rotfl:

I did write a REALLY long email to Jeff Wells..I think that was his name..., maybe Walls... Director of DFTW. I went on and on about how great my Coordinator was, how great floral was...just to soften the blow...and then I went into photography. However, the rant was mostly about the no outside photographers rule.

I think I might contact Disney Photographic Services. I am hesitant though because I hate to "get someone in trouble." I liked the photographer, he was nice and funny, and some of the pics are ok. I need to think how I can word things nicely :scratchin:

My anger is more about the no outside photography rule. Honestly, the Honeymoon pictures aren't horrible, so I don't think he is incompetent, I just really would have liked photos similar in style to the other ones I will get from Studio 222.

It would be glorious though if they finally listened to all of us and changed the rule. We should have a disbrides meet in the France pavilion and stage a little revolution. We could all carry posters of our bad pictures and chant 'liberty, equality, outside photography!" as they drag us out of the park. :hippie:

Thanks for the review of DPS. It is really helpful to the rest of us though I am sorry your pictures aren't what you had hoped. Although they are very funny with your captions :lmao:

I feel better knowing what to expect from DPS.

I can't wait to see the rest of your photos from your real photographer. So far they look great!
