I love the idea of Mickey Mouse tye dyed shirts....I especially liked the ones that Crissy bought on ebay....real no mess no fuss with those!
Ah, I didn't realize she got some there! That certainly takes the mess out of it!
Oh, I do like the idea of making your own t-shirts -- especially the Cheshire Cat one and the tie-dyed ones! Those will be perfect for Pop!
I knew you would love the Cheshire Cat one. I'm afraid even though that quote is from the movie, only my DIS friends will get it. I told my mom tonight and she gave me a very blank stare.
Poor DS and Jack Sparrow -- did you go ahead and tell him that Jack comes back in the third one?
You know what, we actually didn't talk about it, I think we "distracted" ourselves with something else. And I haven't talked to him about the third one because while the violence in the first two is really questionable for my four year old, we can really pass it off (mostly) as bad pirates, etc. In the third, what with the hangings in the beginning and some of the grosser stuff when they're sailing through the cold cold ends of the earth, I just think that's nightmare fodder, so I don't know when I'll let him watch it.
What do you think? When did you start letting Connor get into that kind of stuff?
And now we have totally segued away from a pre trip report into parenting, but if you don't mind sharing, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
I also love the idea of custom tye dye t-shirts. They fit perfectly with the Pop theme. Would you mind sharing the directions and any tips after you try it?
I sure will share! I actually found the thread on the DISigns board, and I love that it has pictures!
Tie Die Mickey Shirts
I think I like the Peter Pan profile better too. Both are just adorable. Making t-shirts is something I'm hoping to try too. And if the weather here in New England continues to be so crappy, I'll have plenty of time to try it!
My only quest now is to figure out if I'm able to get ride of the white outline that usually exists around the images, it really stinks if you're trying to put it on a colored tee. Although, I've got some ideas on how to make it work, so no biggie if I can't figure it out.
Too cute that your son has inherited your affinity for Capt Jack!
And not at all surprising. We so need to see a pirate tutorial at MK, and now, not just for my benefit.
Awww..the idea of tyedye tshirts sounds really fun!! I'm sure you guys will have a great time making them...maybe your DS can help LOL!!!
I'm not sure. On the helping thing. It looks really, really, really messy. And normally, that doesn't phase me, I mean, we play with playdough, we cook together...but none of that stuff can dye your skin.
Really like the Turning 30 Peter Pan one!!
And to answer your question from before, yes I will be there Oct 1st at the party!
WOO HOO!!!! I'm so looking forward to meeting you.
