Oh that's not too bad, only two weeks to go! Uht-oh...looks like you've got a bunch of procrastinators! If they're anything like me, they all got them done last night!! That's so awesome that you and DF work with autistic children...you guys are so sweet!

Oh I totally do. Most of the projects should be done by today, but I doubt we'll finish. So that means one less to review but I don't think they really care. And thanks! We really got into it because it's not too bad a job, pay is ok, and the hours are great, but it is definitely rewarding. But it makes me worry about having autistic children. It can be very hard depending on the severity.

Phew just read your whole PJ.

Great dress pick it really suits you. Purple is my fav colour and sometimes wish I'd picked that as my colour. The cake looks fab. I think the BM dresses are all great as they could wear them again, I think the 3rd one you posted is my fav. I think with DPS you'll have to be really specific about what shots you want. Its great that you've got a new job and been able to move the wedding up to 2010. Oh and I love your engagement story.

Congrats on catching up Claire! Thank you, I love dress too. :cloud9: I've never been a big purple person but for some reason those colors really drew me in. I like the BM dresses. I still need to actually see them in person, but I think they are a little different and fun. I definitely plan on composing a list of shots but I really love candid shots. I'm excited for 2010! I don't know what I'd do if I had to wait over 2 years. :scared1: And thanks! DF tried really hard to keep it a surprise (even picking a fight with me to throw me off his scent) and he is amazing. I love him so much! As for the cake, we're still up in the air. I love the argyle type cake, but we have this really cute idea to have a futurama themed cake (very little theming)...I don't know, we're weird!

So I emailed my WC for an estimated budget for the Living Seas and it was $25,000!!! :scared1::scared1:

Of course going through it, there's a lot of things that I could do without...Epcot instead of WP, a DJ (although DF is fighting me on this), I figure silk florals instead of theirs, Snow Globes as center pieces (Thanks Figment Fan!), etc.... And they fill the buffet with a dinner, while we'll do brunch, and Brand name alcohol...we'll probably go with the hosted bar, because people will want booze, but very little.

If you want a link to the pdf file, just PM me!

And PS I was offered a position at another school, so now I have 2 job offers! :cool1: I feel special. :rotfl:

Wow that seems like a lot, but I'm sure you can cut it down.

I am working with the lady for a custom flower order, she does "real touch" flowers, not just silk ones http://www.sharonnagassardesigns.com/index.html She has samples on her website. I'll share my samples when I get them. Her prices are not bad either.

You could do just a wine and beer bar, or if they would let you do mimosa's you could do tangerine, grapefruit, and orange juice. My FSIL did beer, wine, a alcoholic and non-alcoholic punch at her wedding.

Yea for a second job offer!

Thats great you've got another job offer.

I'm sure you can cut it down from $25K no problem.

Don't worry, I know that you'll be able to dramatically cut it down from the 25K. With our brunch reception at LS, 50 guests, transportation, dessert party, cake, flowers, etc. we spent 12K including tax and gratuity, so I know it is possible depending on the guest count. Keep in mind, we had outside videography and photography and the minimum was 10K at the time plus tax and gratuity and we didn't have alcohol - just sparkling cider for a toast.

I'm so excited to see your snowglobe centerpieces. Did you see that Disney shopping had a ton of them in their summer sale?

Wow Laurie, that site is awesome! I had seen one from someone else's pj (mandy?? sorry I forget) but I'm adding it to the list. I figure beer and wine is a good call since that's probably what would be drank. I think my mom mentioned something at the dessert party...but it is her money. Who knows.

Thanks Claire. I'm sure I will too, especially with the help of the Disbride brigade! :goodvibes

Vanessa, I love your snowglobes! I want to buy ones that represent the people sitting at the tables. And I was thinking of arranging them on a mirror tile (like in Carly's PJ) with some tealights and diamond confetti. I want something simple and short. I hate tall centerpieces. I haven't bought any yet but I want to.

PS I posted a thread on the Weddings and Honeymoons board to poll which wedding venue I should pick. Here's the link: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2205461

More florals!! I found this site from Laurie's PJ and I love it! I definitely want silks.

Here's a bouquet I like: with cymbidiums and calli lilies.

And a collage of flowers/colors I liked. I prefer the purply Calli lilies than white. I'm wearing ivory so I don't feel like I need it in my bouquet. I'd add the Phalaenopsis orchids to the bouquet possibly and/or hair, along with the smaller flowers (to use instead of barrettes)

YEH!! I'm glad I could help. I really liked those ones as well, they look beautiful! It's similar to what I want (but with roses :))

Catching up from vacation...

So I found a new hair website, when checking out the wedding board (the short hair thread) and found some hairstyles I liked. I guess I'll number them 1,2,3 on the top, and 4,5,6 on the bottom. I think #6 would go well with the front hair style from the veil picture.

Oh I love #5!!!!

Wow!! $25K!!! I am sure you must be able to do something to get that number down.

Yay for another job offer!!!

I voted on your other thread...I love the Japan Gardens!!

Laurie, it is totally the best site!! Have you ordered samples? Is it too early to order a sample?

Lovely colours

Thanks Claire!

Mandy did you have fun on your trip? Isn't $25k really expensive?? I'm sure we'll be able to cut it down. And I think we're leaning towards Japan Gardens.

And we put in a bid on etsy for DF's outfit. I hope it turns out well.

I submitted a request for a custom quote last week, last Sunday to be exact. I'm still waiting for my quote, but I am hoping to order samples once I receive the quote.

I think the earlier the better. The website says at least 4 months for a custom order plus if any of the flowers you want are back ordered, it could take even longer. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I love the hair pictures I like all of them! Also the flowers look great.

Thanks Ann!! I'm so excited!

Oh I can't wait! After you get your quote, I'll order some samples as well. A week doesn't seem too long for a response.

I may not be using the fake flowers after all, my wedding planner thinks they do not work in the carribean because you are around so many flowers they look "more fake" So my flower order is on hold until I get the re-quote from her. However, you can order samples after you request your quote before you give a deposit. She did not send any pictures, you need to put down a deposit before you can get designs and photos done for final approval. I hope that helps.

Congrats on the job offer Sam!! And sheesh! I totally empathize on the budget stuff right now. Our standing bill with Disney right now is at $15,652!!! :scared1: And that's not including all of our outside costs... So, they know how to get you! I know you guys will get it all squared away though, and have a gorgeous event!

Those silks are amazing!!! I love love the colors. :lovestruc Veeery nice! And Laurie is so gosh darn helpful!

Laurie rocks huh? Great choices, I love orchids Sam.. again must be a Sam thing lol

That's not too shabby! Thanks for posting it. I get the whole real vs. fake debate but I think orchids look fake to begin with so hopefully that will be ok. I think I'm going to order some samples.
And PS thanks for being so helpful!

Thanks Anjanette! Ugh budget blah. It's easy to forget about the extra non Disney stuff...like a dress :rotfl: I'm sure yours will be amazing as well.

Great Sams do think alike!

One more day to go...and it's only a meeting. :dance3:
