Wishes Do Come True!....a Birthday PTR

I'm not good at trivia, but I love the facts. I hope I remember to look for the fuse box on TOT.

I have to bring that book with me so I don't forget all the little secrets!!! I'm not very good at trivia either, but it's fun.

Wow I can't wait to see all 1200 pics from your new memory card when you get back!
I'm also excited to hear how your bday dinner at SciFi goes. I'm htinking of taking DH there for his bday dinner when we go in January. I've never been but it sounds like a great place to eat!

I can't wait to be as excited as you are 7 months from now. :goodvibes

I can't promise anyone that I'll take enough pics to fill that memory card, but it's nice knowing that I can! :rotfl: I really loved going in January and would love to go again in 2010, but I don't see that happening.

I'll have to check those books out, thanks for letting me know about them. I keep thinking I want to take a trip to the book store to get a Biography on Walt...I want to know more. Maybe before our NJ Shore vacation I'll get one...

Sounds like you have a pretty full week. Not as crazy as the last couple though, but some fun stuff! The field trip sounded fun and a pedicure is always nice!:cloud9: I hope you have a fun time!

A lot of my friends are doing the Relay here this Friday, I was hoping to,but Saturday morning we have plans for our youngest birthday. I don't blame you for bring tissues and for wearing waterproof mascara to that event!!:goodvibes

Hope the rest of the week moves quickly for you...hmm, one week from tonight you'll be.... MK?

One week from tonight I'll be at DHS. We have my birthday dinner and then we're staying for EMH!

Meghan -- Have an incredible birthday and a wonderful trip! I am doing my last minute mani/pedi, and we leave bright and early tomorrow am for FL. I can't wait to read your trippie, they are always fun!

Maria :upsidedow

Have so much fun down in FL!

I'm guessing 2003 because I know some people went this year and were shocked to have women gangsters.

I am in the SINGLE DIGITS today!
:cool1::banana::yay::dance3::yay::banana::cool1:
party:

I am so excited! I can't stop thinking about the trip and it is consuming my life. I'm constantly on the DIS reading anything and everything! I think I need to relax a little bit because all this reading is getting me to overplan a bit. I've reread the part in the UG about avoiding EMH and now I'm starting to rethink our plans. Then, I talk to Tony about it and he just tells me to relax. So, we'll still be doing AM EMH and take it from there. I'd love to do some PM EMH, but it's just too late at MK. There is no way Madison will make it past 11pm (neither will I!). Ok, I'm starting to ramble, so that must mean it's time to go.

I'm like that before our trips too. I even have wild dreams about it too, and at times I need to take a break from Dis so I don't go full fledged crazy! I have the UG too, and only read about half of it before our trip, but I really didn;t like there plans for touring. For us it just didn;t work. My DD sleeps in and we are more night owls, so there was no way to follow those plans...and we did just fine with the way we did it too.

I'm much more relaxed now then I was earlier. My mind is never at rest and when I'm bored, well watch out! I start thinking a mile a minute! I know that no matter what we decide, we're going to have a fabulous trip. I've been to Disney in the summer (the majority of my trips) and I've never been disappointed. I know what I'm getting into and I know what to expect. When we went in 2006, I don't really remember the parks being unbearable. Anything will seem crowded to us compared to January, but so what?! It's Disney! I just don't know how people can not have a good time.

I plan on going a bit slower this trip and filling up my camera. I always feel like I don't take enough pictures. I hope to change that very soon. I bought a new memory card today on sale for $14.99! I was so excited! My current card only holds around 250 or so pictures and my goal is to have many more pictures than that! This one holds around 1200!!!!! I have my work cut out for me I guess.

Time for me to get going. Have to get Madison a quick dinner. The head soccer coach is holding a free clinic today that she wants to go to (she's never played soccer before). Then, I have my Vacation Bible School volunteer meeting tonight at 7pm. I just adore VBS!!! I always volunteer to help with the games because I love being outside. The theme this year seems really cute (Crocodile Dock) and Maddie & I love the samples of music that we've heard. She can't wait until we can buy the cd.

Check out Buy.com some time. They always have sales on different things and I have bought Sd memory cards for $5 with free shipping before. It comes really fast too. I think I took about 1500 last trip. Being at Pop you have a whole resort full of picture options too.

I am currently reading a biography on Walt. Is it ever interesting. Did you know his first company (in Kansas City) went bankrupt and I don;t even think he was 21 at the time. Also he was always hurting for money. I am only to where he is doing the "mickey cartoons"...1930's... and he is never making money. I always just assumed once he made Mickey he was rolling in money. From the sounds of the book, he was always hurting for money too, his whole life. He also had a nervous breakdown. He had kind of a rough childhood.
And even though he drew the origional Mickey, and thought him up, he had one of his animators re work him and he didn't draw/animate any of the cartoons. He drew when he was younger, but once he got his business started he pretty much never drew anymore. Really interesting stuff. I guess I had a picture of the way I "thought" things were, and this book tells it so differently.

I'm guessing 2003 because I know some people went this year and were shocked to have women gangsters.

I'll be getting to the answer in just a minute!

I'm like that before our trips too. I even have wild dreams about it too, and at times I need to take a break from Dis so I don't go full fledged crazy! I'm much more relaxed now. I just can't wait to get there! We like to get up early while at WDW. I guess I was just raised that way! I'm sure we'll do fine with taking a break around lunch time and then heading back to the parks at night.

Check out Buy.com some time. They always have sales on different things and I have bought Sd memory cards for $5 with free shipping before. It comes really fast too. I think I took about 1500 last trip. Being at Pop you have a whole resort full of picture options too.

I will definately be taking lots of pics at Pop. Everything is just so Disney there (or so it seems from pictures).
.

So, time to give you the answer to my trivia question. The answer is.....

c. 2000

Only male Cast Members played gansters during the live-action sequence for The Great Movie Ride's first 11 years. "Mugsi Tocatta," the first femals gangster, joined in 2000.

Pretty intersting, huh? Of all the times I've gone on TGMR, I've only had the gangster twice! I didn't even know that scene existed until I was 15 years old. We always had the cowboy. Well, once, we had a cowgirl and she was amazing! Very convincing. Well, time for me to get some rest. Have to work at good ole Old Navy tomorrow! I'll try to post before work tomorrow. Good night!

What day is your actual birthday? My daughter Danielle's is June 25th, we're celebrating her 10 th birthday.

One Week- Trivia and Fun Facts

One week from today, we're going to the MK for AM EMH. Then, we'll be heading over to Kona for breakfast at 10:15am. Afterwards, I think we might head back to the MK (maybe use our FP's we've aquired). We'll definately be taking a little break back at the hotel because Madison really wants to go swimming a lot on this trip. We only had one day for swimming in January and it was after our AK day. Tony and Madison swam for maybe 30 minutes and that was it. Anyways...Epcot has EMH that evening, but I've heard it gets really packed. However, I'd love to just walk around WS and take lots of pictures. Maybe we can find some characters hanging around too. I guess we'll just play it by ear. So, since I definately know we'll be at MK that morning, here's a few MK pics from January.

image097.jpg

One of my favs from the whole trip. This very well could be our Christmas card this year.

100_0529.jpg

I just LOVE this pic of the Castle. So beautiful at 8am in the morning!

Trivia Time!!!
How many people can the Magic Kingdom park hold?
a. 15,000
b. 50,000
c. 75,000
d. 100,000

DID YOU KNOW??
The entire flume system on Splash Mountain can be drained in 5 minutes and totally refilled in just over 20.

Splash Mountain's proper name is Chick-a-pin Hill. Very interesting!

Here's something interesting to look for on your next ride down Splash Mtn: Just as you begin your ascent (before the last drop), look up at the ceiling, where a little gopher pops his head out and shouts, "F.S.U!" It's an Imagineer signature by a Florida State University fan. (I think this is hysterical because my BIL goes to FSU!! Plus, Madison can't stand the FSU fight song and always roots against them.)

So, there's your info for the day. I hope you're all enjoying your day. It's pretty yucky and rainy here today, so I'll be staying inside and getting cozy.

Wonderful MK pictures, I love your matching Tink shirts!! I didn't know the offcial name of Splash hill but I did know about the FSU. We've looked for it several times.

Have fun next week!!

We went to evening EMH on Sunday at MK. I can tell you there was still 20 min lines for Buzz and even Teacups at 12am. It was super busy! We got tired and left but it was open until 2am. Stopped at the Bakery on the way out and got cinnamon buns for the morning. TASTEY!!

Oh, and I finally made it back to Ghiardelli's this trip too! I got the mint chocolate sundae. Sooo good!

Thanks! I got them on the clearance rack at Target in the girls section (yes, I fit into the large tank in girls). I just had to have them!

I don't think we'll be staying too late at MK. I'm not even sure if we'll do PM EMH at MK. It's just sooo late! I really want to get back to Ghiardelli's on this trip too. So yummy.

ANSWER TIME!!!

The answer is.....

d. 100,000
The Magic Kingdom can hold 100,000 guests. However, Disney often closes the MK parking lots when 75,000 guests have gone through the turnstiles because it has to allow room for its resort hotel guests, who continue to arrive by WDW transport (buses and monorails) after the lots are closed.

That's an awful lot of people!!! Well, off to bed now for me. I'm so excited for my pedicure tomorrow and lunch with my sisters. :yay: Be back tomorrow!

I don;t think 20 minutes is too bad. I know the stand by was longer than that for Buzz when we went in March. I do love MK though at night EMH. Most things are almost walk on, and you get so much more done. Though I'm sure time of year that you go makes a difference too. That is our one really late night...well as late as they let us. This past year it wasn't open super late, but it was still all good.

One Week-Trivia and Fun Facts

Good morning everyone! Next week at this time, we'll be at DHS for AM EMH. Since I already posted my best DHS pic, I thought I'd post a favorite picture of pretty much everyone that visits WDW!

100_0457.jpg

Who doesn't love the WDW sign?! It always gets me so excited.

Trivia Time

What is the name of the sea serpent constructed of LEGO bricks in the Downtown Disney lagoon?

a. Brickley
b. Legosaurus
c. Ogel
d. Pete

DID YOU KNOW??

Chef Mickey's serves 4,000 eggs, 1,700 waffles, and 1,500 pancakes every day at breakfast.

FUN FACT

The TTA (known by me as the People Mover) travels its entire 4,574-foot length without the benefit of any onboard moving parts. It is all driven by magnets.

I ADORE the People Mover and I'm so bummed that's it's going to be closed while I'm there next week. I can't even remember how many times we rode it in January! It's just so relaxing and it's great on a hot day.

I hope that you're enjoying my trivia and fun facts. I'm having fun going through my books to find interesting things to tell you. Have a fantastic day readers (and lurkers)!!!

I love the new trivia and fun facts!! :thumbsup2 So fun. I can't believe you're leaving sooooo soon! :woohoo:

Hm...I am going to guess 50,000... :confused3

i love the people mover too .... I'm wondering if MK is going to be super crowded in other areas, because space mountain and the people mover are both not going to be running!

The people mover is one of my favorites as well, and it hardly ever has a line, which makes it that much better.

I think that Tomorrowland still might have some crowds, because some people won't even know that Space Mountain is closed. We definitely ran into that with Splash Mountain in January. I think some people even walked past the sign and went all the way up to the ride before they realized it was closed.

Thanks! I posted the answer to yesterdays trivia and the answer it 100,000!

I've heard that the other two Mountains have been getting quite the crowds due to the Space rehab. I'll have to check it out for myself. I wonder if Tomorrowland is a lot quieter without the noise of the People Mover? I always loved being in Tomorrowland and hearing "Mr. Tom Morrow.":rotfl:

I know that Buzz always attracts quite the crowd as does the Laugh Floor. Maybe with Space being closed, more people will get to check out CoP. I feel like there is never anyone in there anymore and it's so sad. Such a classic!

I am about to keel over right now! I was just playing around with the online dining and guess what???

I WAS ABLE TO GET INTO CHEF MICKEY'S!!!!!
:cool1::banana::yay::dance3::cheer2:

I am soo excited!!! However, I know have to cancel my Kona ressie which kinda bums me out a bit. I was really looking forward to that Tonga Toast. Well, there is always next time! My ressie is for 11:25am. Will this be for lunch?? Right now, I don't even care. I'm just sooo excited!!!!

CoP is one of my favorites too. I mean how else can I get the Small World song out of my head.
It will be interesting to see how the crowds are in Tomorrowland. When people see that Space Mountain is closed they might take to my families habit of riding Buzz Lightyear over and over again.
