Good, bad, and the ugly??

Need help deciding to dine there or save the credit for a character breakfast??

Thanks!!

I added this ressie on our last trip for my parents. It was my FAVE! I went back in Feb and can't wait for September. I generally don't like Asian food- I would never go to a local chinese restaurant (quality of meat issues). That being said, Yak and Yeti is soooooo yummy- lettuce cups, fried green beans, honey chicken and the cream cheese wontons. soooooo good.

My family had a great experience there in May 2008. Everything we tried was wonderful, especially the tuna and green bean appetizers and the mahi-mahi and salmon entrees. I also sampled the maple-tamarind chicken, sweet and sour chicken and shrimp lo mein. Those were also tasty, though the latter two were fairly comparable to the fare at your local upscale Chinese restaurant.

I had heard mixed reviews of Yak & Yeti, especially when it first opened, but I think it has improved. I will absolutely return.

YUMMY!!! It is one of our absolutely favorites!!! We can't wait to go this fall!! If you are interested, I have pics

:wizard: We ate at Yak and Yeti last year and loved it. We split the fried green beans, which were amazing. We ordered the honey chicken and asked if we could get the beef and broccoli with chicken instead and it was not a problem. For dessert we had the fried wontons and ice cream and the mango pie and both were delicious. I would highly recommend it...we're going there again this summer!

Sorry to be a nay-sayer but Yak&Yeti was a huge dissapointment for us...the Tuna appy was OK, but the rest of the meal was just bad...I had the Steak and Shrimp - the steak was overcooked and not flavorful at all...my BF had Beef and Broccoli and it was mushy and yucky - you can get better at our local grocery store...my sister and her kids were there too and their food was either bad or average, depending on the dish. The cream cheese wontons and pineapple would have been good had they been hot, but they were also mushy and cool - had to have been at least 20 minutes old...very dissapointing, as we really looked forward to the meal - I will never eat there again!

I dont want to get yelled at, but we hated this meal. It could have been an off night but everything was nasty. The shrimp tasted like they had freezer burn:( It was our worst meal.

This was our second favorite meal of our trip this past September--second only to LeCellier. I loved my sweet sour pork; DH loved his duck and our best friends loved their steak and shrimp--said the steak was perfect...could cut it with a butter knife! We can't wait to go back.

I've been trying to get an ADR for Yak and Yeti for our trip next month for a while now... very difficult. If you are going to get in, make sure you call at that 90 day mark!

Just some advice for a fellow NC-er ;)

Y&Y was one of our favorite meals on our Feb trip. The babyback ribs and wonton dessert were absolutely to die-for!!! I would go there again in a second!

LOVE Yak and Yeti, going for the third time this September. I have had the steak and shrimp which was cooked perfectly, not dry at all. I also tried some of the honey chicken and sweet and sour chicken, all of which where delicious! This was the one ADR everyone in my family asked that we had for the next trip. Even my picky eater youngest son said he had to have the ribs again.

It was okay for me. But you can't go by me. This is not my type of food. But my
DH loved it. However the Brownies are great :thumbsup2

very interested in pictures. Thanks

Well, I'm still wondering about this place, I've heard so many mixed reviews. :confused3

We have had nothing but great experiences at Yak and Yeti. Our favorites are the crispy mahi, tempura shrimp, and the lo mein with shrimp. And...oh my goodness...those wontons for dessert........ We'll be dining at Y&Y again in a couple of weeks. Yummmmmmmmmmmm....
