I am working on our ADR selections and wanted some opinions on some things, please chime in and help me decide. I only have a few days to get it all nailed down. Tomorrow, the whoole fam will be here and we are going to finalize this. I am considering the following, any thoughts?

Tutto Italia

Sci Fi Dine In (never made it to this but always wanted to)

Yak and Yeti (been here and liked it but it may/maynot make the final cut)

50s Prime Time (been here too, but not sure on this one either)

Boatwrights (never been but it is at our home resort)

We wanted to do a GG with Dale and his family but they are all booked up so I am thinking one of the following, any thoughts or reviews!

Spirit of Aloha Dinner

Hoop Dee Doo Revue

I am almost positive that we ae going to try to book: Crystal Palace (for DMIL), Le Cellier (for all of us, YUMMY!), Chef Mickey (for DD and DS), Ohana Breakfast (for me----never done this any thoughts????) Cape May Cafe dinner (for DFIL)

I always enjoy Sci-Fi, food is okay but love the atmosphere. Have been to both Spirit of Aloha and Hoop de doo and would never do Spirit of Aloha again, just did not enjoy as much. We have done Hoop de doo twice and I will probably be going back again. Have fun whatever you choose!

We have been to Sci Fi and 50's. How large is your group? If you go with a large group at Sci Fi you probably won't sit in the cars. They have tables as well and most of the large groups I saw were sitting at those.
50's has several small rooms where your party could probably be all seated in the same room at different tables or possibly make one large table.
As far as HDDR or SOA, HDDR all the way. SOA just isn't a kid thing.
We went to HDDR last year and have it booked for this year too! It is a great show. You probably won't all be seated at the same table, but great food and a great show.

IMO, Boatwrights is not worth it for dinner. We used to like breakfast there, but dinner was just blah. Food was so-so, service so-so, menu so-so, atmosphere nonexistent. Yak & Yeti or 50's PT are better than Boatwrights, haven't eaten at Sci-Fi yet so can't judge that one.

If Boatwrights made the list just because of location, you may want to consider eating at someplace at DTD. It's really easy to get to DTD from POR, just hop on the boat and take a relaxing ride. This way you would still be eating outside a park, but have some choices that are livelier than Boatwrights :)

Good luck with your planning!

We are a party of 6, I wonder if we do do sci fi, if we could do two ressies there, 4 and 2. I know the kids would love to sit in the cars.

Boatwrights made the list because of the location and we would never go there unless we were staying at POR again. I appreciate your review, I may need to rethink that one.

Tutto Italia- Heard GREAT things about it, but haven't done it myself.

Sci Fi Dine In Need to do it at least once. Get a milkshake!

Yak and Yeti We're eager to do it this trip, after great reviews from friends.

50s Prime Time Haven't done it, sorry!
Boatwrights My buddy LOVES Boatwrights for breakfast!

We wanted to do a GG with Dale and his family but they are all booked up so I am thinking one of the following, any thoughts or reviews!

Spirit of Aloha Dinner I've read horrible reviews on this. We did it 10 years ago and loved it. I would skip it until the reviews change considering how expensive it is. Do O'hana instead! We never skip O'hana!

Hoop Dee Doo Revue Definitely keep it! Make sure you get Category 1 seating, though!

Our other family favorites are Le Cellier, Coral Reef, San Angel Inn, Chef Mickey's, and the 1900 Park Fare dinner was a blast last trip!

Good luck with your decisions! Remember, whatever you miss, will make you have to go back!

Tutto Italia we have heard great things about this and we have an ADR for this!

Sci Fi Dine In (never made it to this but always wanted to) we wanted to try, but we don't have the credits.

Yak and Yeti (been here and liked it but it may/maynot make the final cut) we may be trying this haven't decided

50s Prime Time (been here too, but not sure on this one either)haven't been in YEARS but it is decent and fun-

Boatwrights (never been but it is at our home resort) no thanks!

Spirit of Aloha Dinner- ehhhh

Hoop Dee Doo Revue- we LOVE this! We did cat. 3 last year and it was great! We have that again for this year, but we are trying to get moved to Cat.2- If you are paying OOP then get Cat. 1 otherwise unles you are at the 930 show- you can only get cat2 or 3 for DDP.

Tutto Italia GREAT:thumbsup2

Sci Fi Dine In (never made it to this but always wanted to) Wouldn't go here for dinner anymore. Don't like the menu.

Yak and Yeti (been here and liked it but it may/maynot make the final cut).
We went once it was okay. I'm not a big fan of the food so it's me. BUT the brownies are awesome.

50s Prime Time (been here too, but not sure on this one either) Love this place :thumbsup2

Boatwrights (never been but it is at our home resort) Were going here heard all good.:thumbsup2

Spirit of Aloha Dinner Only go if you never went before.

Hoop Dee Doo Revue
The Best show:thumbsup2

Also if you want a dinner & a show the BYBBQ is fun and lots of food

The food at Sci-Fi fell somewhere between disappointing and inedible, depending on what we ordered, although the milkshake was fabulous. If you can get an ADR, you may well want to consider just getting dessert and saving the meal credits (if you're on the dining plan) for something better.
That said, our DD was 5 when we went there and to this day (she's a teenager now) she still talks about "sitting in the cars." So it was worth it from that standpoint.
Warning: Soapbox alert: Why can't Disney offer an affordable dining destination that has both a cool gimmick AND tasty food? (Think Coral Reef, Sci-Fi, 50's Prime Time, etc.) It seems the more appealing the gimmick is, the more overpriced and mediocre the food ends up being.
As for Boatwright's, I agree that a trip to Downtown Disney would give you more options and a better meal. We like Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express. If you go there in the afternoon it's not crowded at all. The boat ride is quick and fun.

Thanks for all the new reviews that came in. We have never done either spirit of aloha or hoop dee doo. I just love the poly and the athmoshere and the food sounded yummy. I have heard things either way. Hopp dee doo sounds awesome from everyone I have talked to. I will have to let the group discuss it out tomorrow night.

Boatwrights, I have heard good and bad things about---this may not make th final cut.

Oh, I love  earl of sandwich, we always try to eat there. that is a CS though so I don't have to really work it in, we will be sure to eat there. We usually do on departure day.
