I'm doing the same thing. On my last trip I made the tip envelopes up so that they were flexible... I put my maximum tip in each envelope and made sure there were some small bills so I could take out however much I wanted. If service was great they got it all, otherwise I could remove some and leave what I felt was sufficient. We were able to see all the characters, eat and not be rushed. That way, we are free to leave as soon as we are done with characters and food.
We were able to see all the characters, eat and not be rushed. The issue we had at both Tusker House and CP is trying to get the ticket, add the tip, blah, blah. It took forever and we ended up walking out of the restaurant as the general public was just starting to walk by. Yes, if it's auto-gratuity you can settle at the beginning. And, if I were you I'd arrive at 8:00. Chances are very good that you'll be seated right away.I would love to do this, but we are a party of 6, thus automatic 18% gratuity. I'm not even sure how this works with the DDP. Can we still leave it in cash? Can we still settle the bill, including the auto. gratuity, when we first get there? We're planning on charging tips to our room so we can pay it off with our rewards card. We only have one early ADR (8:15 at TH), but I am worried since it's not right at 8 and I want to get out of there quickly.
