Great News! DF and I were able to get a ressie for 930 at CaliGrill during our honeymoon! Since this takes up 2 credits on the DDP, though, we need your help choosing somewhere that we can eat that won't cost a whole lot :confused3

So... where is your favorite TS restaurant that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? :goodvibes

If you are on a tight budget, you might consider eating counter service. If you are not huge eaters you could conceivably share a counter service meal once or twice (e.g. at Cosmic Rays or Tangierine) so you could cover an additional meal. Both Wolfgang Puck Express and Pepper Market at CSR have fairly "fancy" counterservice options so you shouldn't feel deprived.

As far as TS-restaurants are concerned Sci-Fi Dine In, Beaches and Cream and The Plaza are some that are less expensive. Are you getting the Planet Hollywood coupon with your package? If so you could also eat one meal there and use the coupon to bring down the price. As far as I know portions there tend to be big so you could also share something and wouldn't have to pay a lot out of pocket.

Trails End Buffet gives you good "bang for your buck". It's at FW. :thumbsup2

I agree with previous poster about counter service. There are many places where you can get "real" meals and save money. For example, at Sunshine Seasons (inside the land) you can get a pork chop, Asian platter, or a chicken dinner. You can get very good barbecue at Flame Tree Barbecue in AK, and a fabulous Chicken Shwarma platter at Tangierine Cafe in Morocco. This way you still get that feeling of having a "meal," not just burger/fries, and save some bucks. Also, try Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney. It's CS too, but YUM!!

Totally agree about sharing at counter service. Plus it leaves room for a Mickey bar :mickeybar

Pucks express is a great option. Counter service but the food is much better quality.

We really enjoyed Wolfgang Puck Express, Tangierine Cafe, Sunshine Seasons. My pizza at WPE was definitely large enough to share. You could probably order a salad, pizza, dessert to share and be fine until dinner. I've read positive reviews for Earls of Sandwich which seems to be reasonably priced.

We paid OOP & ate lunch at Sci Fi one afternoon too. I would not use a TS for the Sci Fi because, for us, there are better options with the dining plan. You could order hamburgers, sandwiches, etc for lunch at a reasonable price.

If you're in Epcot and wanting a snack, go to Germany & use a snack credit for a huge pretzel. Yum!

Enjoy your dinner at California Grill! We dined there last Friday & not only had a wonderful dinner but a fabulous window table!!

What about the Planet Hollywood ? if I remember correctly - you get a $15 meal credit voucher - you can use that toward a lunch or dinner.

Thank you so much for all of the advice! We CAN'T WAIT!! I think we may just see where we end up that day and do a CS there.. though I'm a bit bummed, because that means there is one day on our trip with no big meal to look forward to!

We used our coupon for Planet Hollywood, we ordered the VIP appetizer platter to share around 19.00 dollars, but then with the coupon it's about 4 bucks and we ordered a couple of beers.:drinking1 I think we got out of there for about 20.00 dollars. The atmosphere is cool, but we went around 6:00ish and then walked around DTD. Nice evening and a break from the parks.
Have a happy Mickeymoon :wizard:

Best food value we know of is Earl of Sandwich at DTD. Salads, hot sandwiches, soups, everything yummy.

We agree Trail's End is a great value too.

There is some very good counter service around EPCOT World SHowcase plus SUnshine Seasons as mentioned above.

Another vote for Wolfgang Puck and we enjoyed the Pizza Window at Spoodles!!! So Yummy and it was under 20 bucks for the pizza. It's nice to sit on the boardwalk enjoying the view and enjoying YUMMY pizza!!!
