We just ate at 1900 Park Faire for dinner this evening and was very disappointed in the food. The service was great and the character interaction was amazing (DS was even selected to dance with Cinderella and now he is in love ) The strawberry soup was amazing though. :)

We had the same experience in November '08. From what I read, it doesn't appear that any of the character meals in/near the MK are known for their food!;)

Ate there last week and it was the WORST meal of our week trip. We were there at opening (literally the 2nd family to check in) and was seated in the "side dining room" in the corner where we couldn't even see the characeters appear or act in the main dining room because of the pillars. There were dozens of empty tables in the main dining room but we were told they like to seat families in all sections from the beginning to make sure all wait staff members had tables throughout. Well, our table was not only in the corner and behind the pillars to where we had no view but it was DEAD LAST for the rotation of caracters. I kid you not we were seated at 4:25 and didn't see our last character until 7:15! We were done eating at 5:00 and just sat there. Our waitress seemed irked off like she wanted us to leave but we went for the characters. The FIRST character sauntered around our table at 5:45.

Not only was the wait for the characters way too long (their fault, they put us at the last table even though we were 2nd there) but the characters tended to pick "favorite" tables where they stayed for 10 or 15 minutes and played with them only to hastily brush over the next 10 tables barely stopping for a pic. We were one of the "brush through" tables. Anastasia skipped us completely although she gave the table next to us a good 5 minutes of fun filled action. My husband was about to call our waitress but I said it wasn't worth waiting for at that point and we left. Biggest waste of our time the whole week.

Food tasted okay to us, but nothing special. Unfortunately that night both my husband and son got really bad tummy bugs and spent the entire night in the toilet. Could have been the food or may have been random bad luck. Who knows.

We were NOT impressed at all by this meal. We had much better experiences at Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, and even Hollywood and Vine (shudder the thought!)

I just made a reservation there for 9/9. I can change it if it seems like everyone is having similar experiences. Anyone else?

Don't cancel just because of my review. I saw tables of families there having a blast. When Drisella and Anastasia focuses on you for 15 minutes and keep heading back to you, literally, you probably have a blast. I'm just saying from our experience that it seemed VERY spotty on who was getting the "blast" and who was getting shafted. If you do go INSIST on the main dining room and I'm sure your experience will be much better.

I read a lot of reviews where the food is so bad. Does anyone ever complain?
I did once at EPCOT where the fruit at the CS was hard as a rock. Took it back to exchange for another. I will not pay for food I cannot eat.

I've been to 1900 Park Fare in 2006 and 2007 and really liked it. Have a ressie for late June so will see how it goes. Last trips interaction with Fairy Godmother and Prince Charming were priceless.

Montog -don't cancel your ress cause of somebody else. You must remember not everybody feels the same way. If you read these boards you will find something good/bad about every place. I learned to go & see for myself. What I like you might not. My thing is try it once you don't like you don't go back. Just my opinon. It's just a shame that other ppl didn't have a good experience here.

Well I'm wondering how many people eat there every day? A lot for sure.
1 or 2 are bound to not have a great experience for one reason or another.

If my family gets put in a corner away from the action I am thrilled. So what is good for one family is terrible for another.

We have eaten a lot at 1900 Park Fare and it's been brill, I found the staff very helpful especially as my son had an egg allergy

No, don't cancel. Our experience was great, only the food was mediocre. We started off our vacation there and it set the right tone for our daughters. The characters were perfect.

Here's hoping that the overall experience is a good one.

I just called today and snagged a ressie for next Thursday 6/18 for 1900 Park Fare dinner - the same day that my DD (age 5) will be going to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. princess: She is determined that we have to meet Cinderella on this trip, because we did not meet her last time.

Fingers crossed that we get to "meet" her for at least a minute or two at dinner.

Thank you everyone for saying not to cancel. We haven't been before so we're unsure, but it sounds worth trying. It is our only buffet.

What are the characters that appear during dinner? Does it vary by night? We'll be dining there on or around 9/9 (don't have that info in front of me while I'm at work right now...) for dinner. Thanks!

This will be our first visit to 1900 also. I agree with the PPs that suggested try it for yourself. That's our motto. However, we have a tendancy to pick more buffets than sit-down meals because DD4 is a rather picky eater, and likes a little of what this meal is offering and a little of what that meal is offering- it's just so much easier to do buffets for us. Either way, maybe we'll see you there- Hope it's as great for you as we're hoping it will be for us!

We did 1900 on our last two trips - both times we thoroughly enjoyed it! The meal was good (in our opinion anyways) and the character interaction was excellent.

1900 is one of our favorite character meals by far.

We went in March and it was the worst ADR of our trip. the food wasn't horrible it was just blah. Nothing special about it. With that said DH adn I did find things to eat and left with a full tummy. But the food was just not up to par with the rest of our ADR's.

The character interaction was amazing although we had a horrible table. We are going to skip it next trip. We had a 5:10 pm ADR and didn't get seated until closer to 5:45 and then waited about 45 minutes before the first character came over. That was after telling the manager we hadn't seen a character yet and we were done our meal.

I would NOT cancel over other's reactions. Go and form your own opinion regarding the meal.

We went to Park Fare in June of 2007 and were not impressed with the food. It was barely okay. We were also with a large group (11), including my mother and father in law. That made the whole trip more difficult. (Mom has alziehmers and dad insited on goign) I think that also influenced our view of the dinner. We went back in Aug of 2008 and had a great time and really enjoyed the food. It was just our family (6). The kids had a wonderful time.

I too was nervous based on some reviews but i am following through with our plan to go to 1900 park fare. There has to be something on the buffet that is enjoyable. Im not picky but if im not crazy about the buffet i will find a little something to eat and then pig out on desserts, i dont care i have done that in the past in other places. Its all about the kids.
