Choose a place for the meet & greet

  • Goofy Pool 3pm first day.

  • Promenade Lounge 3pm first day.

  • I like one of these locations but prefer to discuss a different time.

  • I can't make any meet & greets.

Hi, I know I am late on this, but my sister -in -law just told me about the fish extender, is it too late to get in? I am in Cabin 6018 my email is jat95092 at aol dot com Please let me know as soon as possible

Sure! I'm on my way to my son's bible school play. I'll get an email out to you tonight. Send me the rest of your info at ctx306 at aol dot com. I need how many adults, how many kids, their ages and which ones are boys/girls.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

There is one more family added to our FE exchange list. I have sent out the updated list through email.

The fish extender sign ups are now closed. This will afford us the opportunity to get shopping or creating those items to exchange. We now have a final count so this should make it easier.

Now that we are on a roll with the exchange, let's start discussing a "meet & greet". Does anyone want to do a little meet & greet??? I think it would be nice for everyone to see who they are exchanging gifts with. :rotfl: My idea was during the sail away party or right afterward. Is this a good time? I've never cruised before so I'm not sure if this would be a good time or not. Please post your input!!! popcorn::

I would love to meet ya'll. We have early dinner seating, so I don't think we'll have time after the sail away party to meet. What about before? Of course, I have absolutely no idea when it starts....

:rotfl: Me either. Well, I think we "sail away" at 4pm so the party obviously must be around that time. We are early seating too. I hadn't even thought of that.

Anyone else have ideas?

It depends on when you plan to get to the ship. I think the lifeboat drill is around 3:45 - 4, right before the sail away party. So you'd want to be done with the meet & greet before 3:30 so everyone has time to go back to the room and suit up in their lifevests. Then dinner isn't too far behind the party for early diners. On my last cruise, I think we met at 2:30/3 ish for just a short time in Studio Sea. But that was a large group, so we needed a large place. What about the secret space on Deck 7 aft? I actually never checked it out, but it may be a good place.

I'm not sure if my group will make it for the meet, it's hard to get that many people to agree on anything.

Well, I really want my munchkin to be able to swim in the pool, and from what I gather from the boards, the best time to do that is on the first day.

Would ya'll be interested in meeting at the Goofy pool? If not, I can leave my husband with my daughter at the pool, and catch up with ya'll anywhere! I think it'd be cool to see who you are in case we run into each other during the trip! :flower3:

....the trip on which, by the way, we are leaving for in JUST 2 WEEKS!!!!!!!! :cheer2: .......

My only question would be, is the Goofy pool open at 3:00pm?? Isn't that where the sailaway party is? Just want to make sure of this before we commit. But that doesn't sound like a bad idea.

Anyone know???

I think the Mickey pool is open, but not sure about the Goofy pool. I do know that is covered for the sail away party. I just don't know when they cover it, at the start of the cruise or during the safety drill.

I'm going to post this question on the main board. Seems like I've heard of people meeting before sail away at the Goofy pool. But it also makes sense for it to not be open until after the sail away party. :confused3

Can you guys believe we only have 2 weeks left???? :cool1: We have less than that before we leave here. We are driving so we are leaving a couple of days early. We are also spending the night before the cruise in cocoa beach. Hope we get to see some sea turtles!! It is their nesting season.

We're 10 days away from our trip to AKV before the cruise! I am getting worried about how much luggage I'm accumulating!:scared: I'm keeping to 2 per person and a carry on per person but .....yikes!

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Yes, ours keeps growing too. I'm making packing lists so i can get more organized. There HAS to be a way to stuff all of this into fewer suitcases.

Kcashner was nice enough to list the pro's/con's of different meeting places. I'm posting her response from my question thread to here......

Goofy pool is open till 3:30. It closes for the muster drill and sail away party and then re-opens immediately after sail away.

Advantages/dis of various sites:

Goofy pool--kids can play while parents meet. Bad--sitting difficult, hearing difficult, need to be more specific (like starboard side or whatever).

Studio Sea area --quiet, but basically NO seating. You're not IN Studio Sea, but in the hallway outside. Very few people boarding at this time, which is the one noise thing. Bad--kids don't want to get out of pool, so maybe dad stays with kids while mom comes to meet

Promenade Lounge--good seating, may be harder to hear. On 5/30 they let us use a microphone! (first time I've seen that). We had a huge meet! Bad--it's not the pool for the kids

The dis meet typically lasts 20-30 minutes...just enough time for introductions, announcements of any room changes, etc. It really helps to know who you've been writing to for months!

So with all of that being said, I'm still thinking that the Goofy pool may be the best bet because of the kids. It's really just going to be a short "meet & greet" anyway so that we can put faces to names and also so that we can update room numbers if anyone upgrades during check in.

3:00pm at the Goofy pool. How does that sound?

I think the meet at the goofy pool at 3:00 sounds good. I am leaving in three days for WDW and then off to the cruise. I haven't even packed anything yet. Hopefully I get a chance to start soon, since I have to pack for the cruise and for a week at WDW and travel time up and back , we are driving from VA. I look forward to seeing everyone at the meet and greet and participating in the FE exchange.

GREAT!!! Can't wait to meet you.

I can't believe you are leaving in only 3 days. I haven't actually put anything in the suitcases yet either. I've been trying to go through everything and make a packing list. I'm hoping that will ease things up a bit. I did separate all the FE gifts in to ziplocks yesterday, though. :thumbsup2

Is anyone dressing up for pirate night?? DS has a costume but DH and I were just going to sort of "wing it" with bandana's & t-shirts. But now I'm wondering if we should do costumes too. :confused3

Does anyone know which night will be dress up(semi-formal) night and which night will be pirate night?

We usually dress up for pirate night. You won't feel out of place if you do or don't. I generally wear my own capris with my puffy pirate shirt and vest.

I looked at the most recent 4-night Navigators and dress-up night was the second night. It makes sense because you're usually too pooped to dress-up on sailaway day, 3rd night is Pirate night, and the last night you've packed all your stuff.

GREAT!!! Thanks for the info on which night is what. I like your idea about pirate night. I might do something like that too. DH has a Pirates of the Caribbean jersey that he got at WDW so he could wear that. Ok, the wheels are turning...... :woohoo:

Hi everyone! Looks like everyone has been getting ready for this one for a while! I'm late getting started. Just found this site today surfing around for info on this cruise. This will be our first Disney cruise. Does anyone have any tips on the "don't forget to bring list" or tips on planning our days. Our kids will both be 5 the day we set sail & our son will be 6 during the cruise. Any birthday celebration extras we should plan ahead? Thanks!!
