Do you have a Mac computer, but have Verizon cell phone service

I was really hoping today that Apple today would announce something for Verizon, but it was wishful thinking. I use a Macbook which I love - but I'd love a new cell phone that would be able to sync with my macbook, most importantly with my calendar, does anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks

I was hoping the same thing. Verizon definitely gets the best reception around here (Scituate) but my contract is up in July so I am going to give AT&T a try if I don't hear anything with Verizon.

Same here - wishing for a Verizon iPhone. I'm just going to keep my non-smart phone for awhile longer, don't want to switch to AT&T yet, holding out for iPhone!

IF you are looking for a smart phone, Blackberry is the way to go. I have a Verizon 8800 for work, and using hte BB Desktop you can sync no problem, but then I also have an iPhone for personal use. :)

Yes I do - and if they offered a 99$ Verizon iPhone, I would have snapped that up so fast. However, I hate Verizon, they keep adding these unknown "charges" to my bill - like 2$ fees for going on the internet that I have to fight them to get taken off (I had disabled it). And if I go over on my text minutes, they call the house multiple times each day, telling me I need to upgrade my plan, and when I say no, they keep calling. :headache: We're counting the days until my plan expires.

That is so annoying. I am glad my cellular phone carrier is not like yours. However, I thought Verizon is the best in US. My mom uses Tmobile and her plan sucks! I had asked her to switch to AT&T or Verizon but she insist that Tmobile is far off better than AT&T.

Anyhow, BB is really great. I have the 8900 Bold and I am loving it.

AT&T currently holds an exclusive contract with Apple for the iPhone. I believe that when that expires (2012? 2013? Somewhere around there), other carriers can carry the iPhone.

We had a zillion and one problems with Verizon and our last phones with them (Motorola Q's). Our problems were so bad that they not only allowed us out of our contract five months early, they ate all the early termination fees and our last month. We switched to AT&T for the iPhones and we could not be happier.

Apple would have to come out with a CDMA version of the iPhone to work on Verizon/Sprint. I have my doubts that they'd do that. Also, Verizon loves to customize (maim?) the interface on the phones they sell, which I'm sure Apple would have fits over.

The new Palm Pre is a CDMA phone, but currently tied to Sprint for 2009. It's expected to be available on Verizon in 2010. I'd say this is the best route to go if you're stuck to Verizon and want a top end phone.

I feel your pain, OP. I'm a Mac girl, too - and stuck with Verizon. I desperately want an iphone, but it's not going to happen with AT&T.

I've heard rumors that Verizon is working on some new technology. If they are able to perfect it, they might be able to get the iphone when the AT&T contract is up.

Keeping my fingers crossed.
