When the cruise was a surprise to DarthVader, we created Macavity (he's not there from Cats), so I could post in this forum, and he would not know it was us, and we could still participate.

Do you know how hard it is to post, log out, re log in, post, log out, re log in and try to get the 100?

So, TexasCruiser and Macavity are the same person... (and Princess123 is my DD)..

So, can I please have Captian SchoolIsOut??

Okay, now if I don't get ready for church my DH is going to ground me from the computer he says...

Have a great day ya'll.

Just home from Church and DDs want to go swimming. So, DH is going to start packing (wait - shouldn't we have done that already????:confused3) and I'll take the girls to the pool for an hour or so.

Happy Sunday everyone!!!

That was a great surprise, I'm in awe you kept it a secret this long! I have been infrequently posting this last week. When I saw your name, I couldn't remember if I missed recent cruisers joining the thread.

It's a relatively quiet day here. DH is working a triathlon this morning (he's a race photographer) He scheduled ds to work video at church this morning thinking this was his (dh's) Sunday to direct the video team. oops... I have to take ds to church shortly.

DD is still asleep, her dance recital was last night. She joined a new studio this year. At her previous studio, dh photographed and I worked stage crew, parents never seemed to volunteer. This was the first time sitting in the audience, this studio always has plenty of volunteers; They didn't recruit, all positions were filled, before I realized there wouldn't be a sign-up or a request. I honestly can say, I much prefer working backstage. Three hours seemed like it went on forever!!!

It was a secret up until Gale made ressies for Palo for both of us. The ressies were linked and it showed up on disneycruise reservations that way. Of course the day we could book excursions DS started going to the ressie and said "Wait a minute why does our reservation have our names and Gale and Ali?" I just couldn't think of a credible lie. We kept it a secret for about 14-15 months.

Today is a quiet day for us we all slept in for a change so no church for us today. instead I'm going to do our online check in forms and then sit in the sun for a while. My formal dress has a halter style top and my bathing suit form Christmas was not that style so I've got to get rid of some tan lines or it is going to look a little funny. Hope everyone has a good day.

I worked last yesterday so I missed the first night of Lauren's dance recitals... I have to go tonight - I hope it is only 3 hours..... :rotfl: 2 nights would have been a killer... Lauren was in 5 dances last night and 10 dances tonight...

Thankfully, Maggie didn't want to audition for any of the performing groups which would have had her dancing in two recitals today, too. Her brother would have staged a mutiny if he had to sit through 2 more shows...:lmao:

It felt (and it was) longer than her previous studio's shows and each number was longer. I was never a dancer, so I've really had to get used to the whole experience. Moving to a new studio, we don't know the traditions and what to expect. This is a bit more demanding studio; After three years, Maggie "tapped" out of her former studio where tap was not a big draw. We followed her instructor to this studio and are still learning what the expectations are at this studio. The nice difference, the seats were reserved; downside, we had to pay for tickets. Which was another reason we were thankful Maggie didn't perform in all three shows...:lmao:

Just got back from church... DH just left for the airport... bridal shower at 2pm....

Off to do the giftcard exchange now....

My DH and I used to work as techies for a ballet company here in Maryland. Doing stage work is how we met in college. Working for the ballet company was interesting. I was fascinated with pointe shoes. We had to keep them locked up due to their cost and contracts. The number of shoes each performer got was written into their contract. Interesting now, our DS is now doing tech for his high school. He has worked a lot over the last two months. It's a nice paying job for him (his first job). The past two weeks have been mostly dance recitals. He comes home with some cute tales of the little ones dancing.

Still the little scamp doesn't know ALL the secrets...squirrel!!!

Sounds like we have a lot of performers and techies on this ship - Brent better watch out, we may have to plan a show!! DD is a dancer too - she has her recitals this weekend, and is in all three. Patrick is actually in all three this year too - he usually only does a boys hip hop class (which dances in 2 recitals) but this year did tumbling as well, which puts him in all three. Rachel has to be in all three because of the ballet production - this year Coppelia.

Shirley - the pointe shoes are a killer. FInancially as well as physically! I swear I no sooner buy a couple then we need new ones!! WHich ballet company was it? Maryland ballet?

SO next week we have dress rehaearsals, prom, she is singing at graduation and finals are finishing. SHould be a crazy week. Boy do I need this cruise.

Ok - who has made a FE? I need some directions. I have been trying to plot it in my head, but having a little trouble.

I made our FE for our last cruise and it was really simple. I can not sew so I used the liquid stitch stuff and it worked really well. It takes longer doing it that way because you have to wait for it to dry between each step but once it was done and trimmed with ribbon it looked really good. I"ll have to look for the directions they are somewhere in the disaster area that is my room.

Hello everyone, myself, DH and twins - DS9 & DD9 will be on the Tortola cruise. We don't have a cabin yet, just a Cat. 6 guarantee. Please add us to your list. I'm not completely savvy on all the lingo. Please tell me what does FE stand for? Also, please tell me about FL rates? We live in FL. If Disney posts lower rates will they lower our already paid for rate? Thanks for the info.
