Tut-Tut, it Looks Like Rain! May '09 Trip Report. *Finished! 9/27 Pg. 69.

Okay, thanks for my fill!!:lmao: Enjoy lunch!!!! Need to check out this Chain Rxn on FB....every time I enter in a game on there I can never figure it out!! Just as well.....there are probably a hundred other things I *should* be doing...like laundry. UGH!:laundy:
Thought you'd enjoy that! :rotfl2: Chain Rxn is very fun, easy to play too. Did you see that the September hours are out?

Hooray! Two of my favorite girls in one trip report!!!!

So exactly what did Jen buy at DTD?;)
Hehehe, hmmm. I wonder what she bought..? ;)

Yeay for an update later today -- I was hoping for another one before I left!!! :goodvibes
Yay!

Friday May 22nd. Day 1. Part 3.

So we set off in our matching t-shirts for...

Epcot!!

I was quickly convinced that having a car at Disney World is quite wonderful. I kinda liked being chauffeured by Jen around the World.

We got a decent parking space and jumped on the Tram for a ride to the Entrance. As soon as we got off the Tram it started P O U R I N G. Out came the umbrellas and we made our way through the bag security line. We were told to shut our umbrellas in the bag line by a brusque female security guard. Yikes! She was worried we would poke her eye out, I assure you I am big on eye safety so I was being careful. After we made it through we went over to the ticket window to upgrade my one day ticket. Yay! Park tickets here I come. It was very exciting for me. I'm a dork.

We weren't able to take any pictures because it was P O U R I N G out. So sorry about that. The topiary were beautiful though. I loved all the detail they put into them. Then we hit up our first ride, Spaceship Earth! The line was a bit long only because everyone was seeking out shelter from the rain. It went by quickly. I even held our umbrellas with the clips on my Vera Bradley bag. Worked out handy when they weren't too wet. We quickly made our way into our time traveling vehicle. We both decided to keep our cameras packed away so we could enjoy our first ride.

On this ride our journey was interrupted THREE TIMES. The first time was near the phone operators that are across from the movie screen. The second time was when our future was building and we were backwards. That was quite the pause. So long in fact that something dripped on me which made me have thoughts of Spaceship Earth caving in on me. Jen & I started joking about how we were going to fall out and whether we were more afraid of people falling on us or falling on other people. Thus the term "Spaceship Earth Pancakes" was born. At the time we both found this term absolutely hilarious and used it quite often in many different situations during our trip. We are simple if nothing else. :rotfl2:

Finally we started moving again....and then we stopped AGAIN. Luckily this time wasn't as long but we were still backwards and still a little freaked out by it. I thought some light was moving next to us and Jen confirmed it but until she did I thought I was losing it. Phew!

We had quite a funny future but we didn't pull out our cameras. We were quite fair and we took turns answering the questions. We did take pictures of the second ride and our second future, so you can all look forward to those pictures. I think that was the best one I have seen yet!

After that, I think the rain had slowed down but we were still using our umbrellas. We headed over to Soarin' to get fastpasses for later use. Jen was kind enough to go in so that I could save on the walking. Remember before my trip, how I was worried about my heel from my plantar fasciitis....well that was going to be the LEAST of my foot troubles....stay tuned for that.

After we had our fastpasses, we headed over to World Showcase. We made a quick stop in the Toy Solider in England and to my dismay my much coveted bunny rabbit from last trip was gone. :sad2:

Adorable bathrobed bunny, I will miss thee.

Moving on, we headed over to France for our lunch ADR at Les Chefs de France. We checked in and were called in to sit down in less than five minutes. We put our umbrellas in a plastic bag while we were inside, it worked out very well so everything in Jen's backpack didn't get wet.

We were seated right next to the window at a fabulous table. What was even more fabulous about our lunch?? Our waiter Andreas. I think that is how you spelled his name. Oh my eye candy! I wasn't brave enough to snap a picture of him but he was so gorgeous and Jen & I decided that he would make the perfect husband for Christine! :rotfl2: Seriously, he was so adorable that I would get distracted while I was looking at him and he was talking. I felt like one of those ditzy girls in the movies. He was new to Disney, he had just been in the US for 3 weeks. So at times he was hard to understand BUT man oh man, his smiled made up for it. Eeee!

I think this picture of the bread that Jen took is downright artistic!

I was very pleased to see that they had even more selections for the Chefs Menu! I was able to stick with that and still get the yummy Lobster Bisque that I wanted to get.

So delicious and creamy! I was disappointed in the Coral Reef lobster bisque last year but this one was SO GOOD. This New Englander loved it!

Jen has the french onion soup. She loved it and it looked delicious!

I like this picture Jen took.

While we were waiting for our entrees we were watching for any signs of Remy. We finally spotted him way across the room. He was able to make it over to us before our entrees arrived. I ate every last drop of that lobster bisque!

Remy was adorable! So life like and his little squeaks are just the cutest.

For our entrees we both had the fancy pants french grilled cheese sandwich. So delicious and so very filling.

Funny thing is...we both forgot to take pictures of our desserts. Jen got the Creme Brulee which she loved and I got the ice cream thingy with the puff pastry thingamabobs. Can you tell I am too lazy to go look at Allears? I wasn't a huge fan of mine but then again none of the desserts really appealed to me at Chefs so I just went with one.

Still raining...It was kinda amusing during our lunch watching everyone scurry for cover. But not too amusing because we knew we would be back out there sooner rather than later. It had started lightening while we were inside and it looked really close! I had to have Jen the science teacher reassure me I would not get struck.

After our lunch it was still raining. Jen and I had formulated a plan that the next thing we would do is go check out the movie in France. Something I had never seen, she had. We made our way over there, I had gotten into the light fixture groove...

This is the light on the ceiling in the French Theater.

The movie was good, a little on the cheesy side but it was a wonderful rainy day activity and a nice place to sit!

At 2:38PM, I twittered...."One Word....Monsoon." And it really was! What would we do with a rainy afternoon in Epcot?

Yay an update!!!!:cool1: I'm SO SAD that the bathrobed bunny is gone!!! You poor thing, LL, you were so looking forward to getting him!!:sad2: And ooolala....a handsome waiter in France for Christine.....maybe she'll go this trip and get a pic of Andreas for us!!! ;)

Aww, no picture of the eye candy?! :sad2: haha Looks like you had a good lunch though. Remy is adorable!

LL what a great start at EPCOT. I am sad that it rained, but you still had fun. Glad you and Jen hit it off right away. Remy looked so fun... what a treat!

I refreshed my page and saw that you had updated and kicked Dbf off the computer :rotfl: Oh My LL! Hurt feet and rain and no more bunny! :sad2: It seems like you and Jen had a wonderful lunch at Chefs though! Can't wait for another update! :thumbsup2

Great update. Sorry about the bunny :sad2: Glad you guys liked lunch and the guy serving it!

Ok, I've counted 10 light fixtures so far... And it's only part of the way through the first day. :rotfl:

It's great that you two hit it off so soon. Stinks that Spaceship Earth stopped so many times. I hate when that happens. Last year when we were there, it stopped something like 5 times. Chef's looks yummy. :goodvibes

The French onion soup looks good, and so does the grilled cheese. This is a restaurant we have not been to yet.

You girls look very happy to be there, even with the POURING rain.:umbrella:

Spaceship Earth stops on us more often than not.

As for the bunnies, I'm becoming more and more convinced that if I see something I want, I better go ahead and get it, because things seem to suddenly disappear around Disney World. Consider the Mickey ice cream bag wigd is having no luck finding right now!

Thanks for the pictures. I'm counting on you and a few others to fill the next 49 days with Disney magic for us. :wizard:

That was a great looking meal! It's definitely on our list for September. It looks very romantic!! Nice light fixtures too.

yummmmmm lunch looks sooooo good!

I thought the film in france was OK too...not nearly as disappointing as china but not nearly as good as canada.

being chauffered sounds heavenly....

nice collection of lights too BTW!!

P

Chefs looked great. I absolutely cannot wait to get to see Remy-he looks so darn cute.

Sorry about the bunny.

I may need a new umbrella for my August trip. Think I saw a cute one on the Disney Store site.

How kind that in your hour of despair over the bathrobe bunny...you perked up to play match maker!

I've never thought to eat at Chefs but your pics make it look mighty good!

Spaceship Earth pancakes!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: You know I will be remembering that if we get stopped again like we did last year!

Oh, how I wish you would have snapped a pic of Christine's future husband -- he sounds pretty yummy! Remy is cute, too!

Lunch looks delicious! Now I wish I had made a Chefs ressie -- next-time list!

I counted ten lights in this update bringing your total up to eleven!

So sad about the rabbit :(.

Great update!!! Oh, and judging by the weather forecast, I think I will need Jen to come down and tour with us next week and reassure me when the storms look bad. ;)

That Remy looks amazing!!! Oh I hope they decide to keep him around so I can see him in April!! I love Chefs....what I wouldn't do for some...and a French waiter too! I make it your mission in September to find my future husband too! He doesn't neccesarily have to be French either! ;) And I'm glad you guys didn't end up as "Spaceship Earth Pancakes"!

Great update! That French onion soup that Jen had looks AMAZING!! Do they call it French onion soup in France or is it just onion soup?:confused3

I was so bummed when I went into the Toy Soldier and didn't see your bathrobe bunny! That thing is so cute!:cutie:

How fun that you and Jen have become lifelong friends over your love of Disney!

Your lunch looked really good! It is too bad about the bunny! Maybe someday they will bring them back. I am happy to see the light fixture pictures!

Yum! Lunch looks delicious!

You sure did get stopped a lot on Spaceship Earth. I am glad that you didn't turn into Spaceship Earth pancakes!

:scared1: The rain!

Yay an update!!!!:cool1: I'm SO SAD that the bathrobed bunny is gone!!! You poor thing, LL, you were so looking forward to getting him!!:sad2: And ooolala....a handsome waiter in France for Christine.....maybe she'll go this trip and get a pic of Andreas for us!!! ;)
Oh my, he is adorable. I think Jen should take her in Sept and they can request him. *Drool*

Aww, no picture of the eye candy?! :sad2: haha Looks like you had a good lunch though. Remy is adorable!
I know! I have failed you all. I should have just snapped but I swear everytime I tried to covertly snap a picture he would make eye contact and I of course would swoon.

LL what a great start at EPCOT. I am sad that it rained, but you still had fun. Glad you and Jen hit it off right away. Remy looked so fun... what a treat!
Remy is adorable. We were having fun for sure!

I refreshed my page and saw that you had updated and kicked Dbf off the computer :rotfl: Oh My LL! Hurt feet and rain and no more bunny! :sad2: It seems like you and Jen had a wonderful lunch at Chefs though! Can't wait for another update! :thumbsup2
I'll update at least one more time before I go back to work on Monday. :thumbsup2

Great update. Sorry about the bunny :sad2: Glad you guys liked lunch and the guy serving it!
Lunch was very yummy! I was pleasantly surprised by Chefs.

Ok, I've counted 10 light fixtures so far... And it's only part of the way through the first day. :rotfl:

Yes, but the bet was how many I took and I haven't posted them all! Some are blurry and some are duplicates so I don't bore you all with those ones.

The French onion soup looks good, and so does the grilled cheese. This is a restaurant we have not been to yet.

Yes, I wish I had bought it. Marc talked me out of it. When I told him the bunny was gone he immediately said, "You will never let me forget this will you?" NOPE! I won't. :rotfl:
