MS service was great today

We just added more points to our BWV and AKV holdings so today I had to call MS and get them to bank our 2008 points (we have Oct UY so we got 2008 points, too). Then I wanted to reallocate our 2009 point usage. It was also complicated by one night's worth of points that MS gave me in our forced switch from BWV to BCV for our October reservation as they were still showing as points I'd borrowed.

Anyway, the CM I got was cheerful, helpful, and accurate. It took her awhile to unravel the points and get them to where I wanted them, but she did it perfectly. I was ready for the phone call to be a nightmare and was very happy when it turned out to be so pleasant!

Today helps make up for some of the MS calls where things don't go quite as well.

Thanks! We added on direct with DVC after I looked at our options. We wanted small points (only another 25 at BWV and 100 at AKV) for October UY. Small point contracts go quicky on the resale market and aren't always for the exact number of points wanted. Through DVC, I paid no closing costs (which would be a high % of the total if buying resale) and got the exact number of points we wanted for the UY we wanted. Also, because we're an October UY, I got the 2008 points, too. I was able to bank those even though the banking window is closed for my 2008 UY. And I was able to reallocate 2009 points and "put back" 50 points to my 2010 UY for BWV so that I could use my new points for the reservation I already have for October 2009 instead of using borrowed points. MS was very accomodating. Anyway, those 2008 points I valued at $10 each when comparing buying from DVC to resale and that made DVC a better deal in the case of AKV and within a couple bucks of resale for BWV.

The day after I told my guide to do the paperwork the points were in our account and I was able to make this call and move them all around. I liked not waiting for ROFR, too.

Congrats on your add-ons! That's wonderful that you got a knowledgeable CM and all went well. We called MS a couple of weeks ago, first to inquire about THV availability and then a second call to go ahead and book. Both CMs were great, helpful, knowledgeable, funny, everything that added up to fantastic service. We were more than pleased.

I like the swiftness as well. Now with the AKV, did you get '08 AKV points as well? Maybe it was the UY, we have March, but I had looked into adding on there (before March) and I would only have gotten AKV in September...I think that's when Kidani will be fully opened.

Yes, I got the 2008 points for AKV, too. There were October 2008 pts available in the Disney inventory.
