what does this mean... have been seeing and ben asked a couple of times if I would rather want a room that is dedicated or split... sorry for the ignorance and TIA for the explanation...

A dedicated 2 bedroom villa has 2 actual beds and no bathroom in the second bedroom I believe. A "split" or "lock off" will have a bed and a fold-out couch in the second bedroom as well as a bathroom. A lock-off 2 bedroom is essentially a one bedroom + a studio.

oh ok so this happens on a few of 2 bedroom ressie.... thank you for explaining this to me...:flower3:

You're welcome.........
I'm not 100% knowledgable on this, but OKW defintely has dedicated 2 bedrooms (it is the only DVC with no fold out couches in the studios), as does AKV, BLT and BCV. I believe there is a limited amount at BLT and even more limited amount at BCV.
I am not sure if SSR or VWL have dedicated 2 bedrooms. I'm sure someone who is more in-the-know could clarify that. If you want a dedicated room, you should request it.
Hope this helps.......

SSR definately has dedicated 2 bedrooms. We were in one last summer.

I think you meant kitchenette. A 2BR, whether dedicated or lock-off, will have at least 2 bathrooms.

A dedicated 2BR will not have a kitchenette in the second bedroom, but a lock-off will because the second bedroom is also a studio.

ok so if I want a 2 bedroom where it is not a studio but instead a 2 bed bedroom I should request for "2 bedroom dedicated" ???

Yes. Kristenrice caught my mistype. I did mean to say kitchenette in my post, so thanks Kristen.

OKW is the only DVC that has TWO actual queen sized beds in their studios. So the only reason you would prefer the dedicated would be perhaps if you have young children. I know some over the years have expressed concern with the extra outside door you get with a lock-off. Some don't feel safe with a door to the outside in the second bedroom. I think it's great when traveling with other adults----it allows them to have their own seperate entrance. The other thing with the lock-off, is you get another small patio/balcony off the second bedroom. The dedicated will only have the one main balcony. But regardless, you will get two beds in the second bedroom whichever you choose.

Hope this helps.

VWL also has dedicated 2 BR's. I think that BWV may be the only one that has only lock-offs.

If you want dedicated you need to reserve that - it is not a request.
