Am I crazy for loving SSR?

We stayed 6 nights at SSR in December and are here now for 4 nights sandwiched between BWV and AKV and I just love it here. I read all the negative things about SSR here, but there is just something that I can't put my finger on that I absolutely love. We are recent members, buying AKV last summer. We have stayed at BCV, BWV and SSR and Animal Kingdom Lodge (not DVC) along with various other resorts, but I just think SSR feels so homey or something, I don't know:confused3. I love the Grandstand area and so do the kids and it is so peaceful on the balcony.

There are things I like better at other resorts, but SSR just gets me and I'm afraid I'm missing the bad. Someone please tell me the bad before I add on! We are here until Thursday and then move on to AKV Jambo, maybe I'll fall in love there????:confused3

your not crazy:goodvibes we went to VB for 3 nights in may then over to SSR for 7 nights. DW wife looks at me and says you have such a big smile on your face. she knew i was so happy to be there. 14 trips and we love it. so no your not crazy :thumbsup2

Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors for a reason...enjoy what you enjoy, and don't worry about whether or not others do as well.

You're totally sane...SSR is an awesome resort, don't apoligize for liking it!:thumbsup2

There is something about SSR. Perhaps it is the peacefulness of the place, it almost reminds me of a little town all on it's own, located near the happiest place on earth. :lovestruc

:goodvibes It is really cool when you connect with a resort... Sooo glad you have had this experience. Nothing beats feeling like you know your home.

Stay far away from the Treehouse Villas. Don't even think about following that walkway by building 92xx. If you do, you'll be a goner for sure.

:rotfl:

Seriously, I'm the wrong person to answer that question. SSR is my home away from home. I even dream about getting up early and taking a long stroll around those grounds.

Are the crepe myrtles in bloom on the walkway by the Grandstand pool? If there's a heaven, I'm convinced that's what it looks like.

My family owns at Saratoga Springs but we typically book another resort to be close to the Magic Kingdom or EPCOT. This past December, we were unable to change to another resort at the 7 month window and had to stay at SSR. Before the trip, I was convinced that I would hate SSR. Much to my surprise, we fell in love with the resort. We had a room in the Springs section, which we requested, and loved the close location to the main pool, fitness center and the Artist's Palette. I was amazed at the cleanliness of the grounds. I swear I believe Disney has some hidden outdoor air fresheners at this resort. It actually smells spotless! There really appears to be an aroma in the air which smells like pine. Maybe it's the body lotion coming from the spa! The bus service was excellent too. I am convinced that this resort is a winner and people should ignore the negative posts from others who dislike the resort. We have added more points at SSR three times and plan to do so again in the near future.

We were at SSR for one night last week and thought it was wonderful. And we got up early before we had to leave to go to MK for breakfast and did that morning stroll on the grounds. It was great.

You're not crazy. My DH loves SSR and has ever since we first walked the grounds. I'm not saying that you won't also love AKV, but SSR will be calling you back :goodvibes

Count us in as well!

We turned down buying AKV in favor of adding on at SSR (twice!) after our OKW contract. Not that AKV is bad (it really is pretty), but SSR really does it for us.

We really enjoyed SSR, too! My DH fell in love as soon as he walked into our 2BR. We'll definitely be staying there again sometime.

So far SSR is still our favorite at WDW, can't wait to try the THV in Nov, love the peace and quiet after all the noise everywhere else you go in WDW.

Now I think the VGC will be our all-time favorite as we go there more often so it really feels like our second home.

DH and I :lovestruc SSR the second we arrived for our DVC tour. :thumbsup2 We cannot wait to stay there. And the Treehouses, color me stoked! :cloud9:

Well if you are you have plenty of company, including me. Love the place.:thumbsup2

We have loved Saratoga Springs since the day we toured the model.

It is our favorite resort, by a mile.

We did just visit Kidani Village and the new section moved up the list to second now.
