I must say I'm exasperated. That's a good word for how I feel. I'm getting really tired of people who assume things about me based on my love of the magic. Recently in the work break room a friend of mine and I were discussing wedding and honey moon plans. I told her I plan to do a week and a half at Disneyland and then some time at the beach. She then asked me why and I told her about my love for Disney and my DBF's love for there food and rides that don't make him throw up. The first thing out her mouth was, "you know Disney was a nazi". as if i was going to freak out. I responds yeah and his head has been frozen too. first of all this happens all at time fill in various rumor or evil sounding thing. Some has some bases in truth, such as sexism, some are totally out of left field. I know them all and I think that it would be obvious to others when I say I'm a fan that they would know that. I wouldn't walk up to a die hard WWE fan (my bf is I also enjoy it) and say you know wrestling is fake. I'm just tired of having people think there going to burst my nonexistent bubble. What I really want is for once some to say oh really your into Disney? and ask me a question, I know my wealth of knowledge about it means nothing in the real world, but its nice to be able to share with someone new on occasion.

Well you've came to the right place to vent. I'm sure we've all had the same experiences with co-workers, family and friends not understanding our love for Disney.

When that happens I just laugh and roll my eyes. Seriously, it's not a surprise and it's not a fact either. People can believe whatever they want too, I will believe that DL is a great place to take my kids....why? Because it is. My co-workers always tease me, they asked me on Wed "how was DL" and I told them, "it was crowded but still great!" and it was. Sorry you have to listen to that stuff tho, it gets old after a while.

I hear you..I think Walt was a great man, although imperfect, and think these recent charges are garbage. You learn quickly who to keep quiet to about your Disney addiction...

I concur. You know what I say to them when they talk about Walt being a nazi or racist.... I say "do you believe everything you hear?" It just amazes me how adults act so "high school" sometimes. Brush them off your shoulder, they're just jealous that we all know how to live and have fun!

Would you believe that one such couple I know will not let their son watch Disney- AT ALL?! They claim that Disney is a bad influence.

It makes me want to scream: Hello! I live, breathe and eat Disney, and I turned out okay (better than okay in my opinion).

Instead I remind myself to feel pity for them; they don't understand Disney and will never get to feel the magic that we all love so much.

At least we can share our Disney obsessions

What exactly are they saying is a bad influence? ...the Disney Channel I think Maybe if your a seriously prudey parents...but honestly theres so much worse you kids could be watching.
