I was originally considering booking 'Ohana for breakfast, but I keep hearing about the Tonga Toast at Kona. It sounds so yummy! So which would you do? If it helps I'm already planning a Crystal Palace breakfast on our MK day and a Chef Mickey's Dinner when we go for MVMCP. So I have character meals planned.

Neither!

In my humble :snooty: opinion, Boma is the best breakfast out there that is non~character.

We really enjoyed the character breakfast at ohana. I read somewhere that you can order the tonga toast at ohana and just pay extra for it. I can't remember where I saw that though or how accurate it is but we're hoping we're able to do that on on upcoming trip. :goodvibes

I haven't eaten at either, but like you, I really want to try the Tonga Toast and the tropical pancakes at Kona (I told DH he doesn't get to pick what he orders--and I get to tryit!) So I'd pick Kona!

We haven't tried O'Hana's yet but we have had breakfast at Kona and it was awesome. The Big Kahuna breakfast is delicious.

love kona! if you are a coffee drinker--be sure to order the 100% kona pressed coffee. our friend tells us it is awesome.:yay:

We're having breakfast at Kona for the first time on Wednesday!!! After reading so much about the Tonga Toast I'm definitely having it. Maybe my husband and two teenage sons will have the Big Kahuna and share it with me so I won't be missing out!!! :thumbsup2

We are in the minority, but we didn't love Kona. Based on our last meal there, we would not go out of our way to eat there again. Pancakes were dry. Omelet was ok. Home fried potatoes were mushy, flavorless ... meh. Granted, we did not order the specialities, like Tonga Toast or the Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes. I intended to go in that direction, but we weren't in the mood for sweets that morning. Perhaps ordering those items would have made all the difference in the world.

I haven't tried Ohana for breakfast, but I have heard lukewarm to bad reviews on the food.

For breakfast in the World, we love Boma and Cape May. I can whole-heartedly recommend those two. Every other place we have tried has been lackluster or has had "issues".

The picture that VegasMike posted is not of the Tonga Toast. The TT is double thick bread that is coated in cinnamon sugar and they usually serve it with bacon/ham/sausage and a slice of pineapple.

We have had breakfast at both Ohana and Kona they were both great but different. I don't get why people slag Ohana, it is our fav place of all. Ohana is the only 'must do' for my family for either breakfast or dinner....sometimes both

No matter which one you chose it will be fantastic.

All this talk about the tonga toast and pineapple pancakes is making me want to get adr's there. I loved ohana but I'm wondering if we'd actually be able to order the toast over there. I'll have to see if I can find where I read that. I may just have to add another restaurant to our plans. :goodvibes

I made Tonga Toast for breakfast today. We didn't eat it at Disney, but I found a recipe. Yum!

We have eaten at O'HANAS for b-fast (character dining) w/ Lilo & Stitch. LOVED IT!!!! We thought the food very VERY delicious and the atmosphere was very NICE! The kids loved the parade w/ MICKEY around the restaurant.

We had dinner at KONA and really liked it too!!
