How do you all get to Vero? Do you fly in to MCO and drive the 1.5- 2 hrs or whatever or is there a better way? TIA!:goodvibes

We've flown into MCO and West Palm. West Palm is closer, but car rental rates are higher and for me the choice of direct flights was rather limited(I think NWA/DL had 2 directs per day out of DTW during the spring).

Thanks! I actually just checked Jetblue and the price to fly into West Palm is over $100 less then MCO. Thank you.

Another airport choice is Melbourne, but it's small and has less options, therefore usually more expensive than MCO. But you never know! I'm not sure if it's closer than West Palm or not - Melbourne's about (guessing) 35 minutes from Vero, I'd say.

We always fly into MCO, then drive down (usually can do it in an hour and a half). Have fun!!

Much closer than West Palm.

There's a new charter airline doing business as Jet America that will begin routes from Newark to Melbourne in July. Rates look pretty good but the schedule is limited. However, if the schedule works for you it might be a good option.

Ooh, perfect for that new $9 (or is it $19) airline that will begin to service Melbourne!

Yes, until the PP posted I had forgotten about that new service. I used to live in Melbourne, but don't really have a need to go there anymore (at least not on my own dollar - only business trips). I'll have to keep that in mind for our cruise out of PC next winter! (Isn't it pathetic that I lived there and didn't even know how far away West Palm was - I didn't get out much!)

I always follow the second star to the right no no thats neverland. Ok I think its click your heals together twice. no thats not right. I give up.

we always seem to end up GOING down the toll roads (towards cocoa beach and then melbourne) then coming back up 192 through st. cloud. Honestly, I don't think it makes much difference really. I almost think I prefer driving 192, at least until you get to kissimmee.
