Relax boys, the belly dancer does not want your singles! 9/2 final update p.87

We may not be classy enough for the Poly but that's no reason to burn the joint down. This was our first choice but the title would not fit so we went with our 2nd choice. Mother's Day 5/10.

And so we continue :woohoo:…………………as Jenna and I left off my family had just arrived off the ME! Jenna, Nate, and the kids were there waiting with big smiles a big colorful slice of Pop cheesecake. It looked so cool, all tye dyed and trippy without the cool effects :p It was so wonderful to see our friends again. It felt like it had been forever! The fact that we hadn’t slept in a day seemed to dissipate and we were energized!

Like Jenna said, we checked in to the OKW, which by the way, is awesome! I have been reading DVC stuff ad naseum and have no idea what people are talking about when they say OKW and SSR are not cool. Now having been to both, I say phooey on the naysayers. ;) OKW is beachy and mellow and the staff was so nice. Our kids were running around the lobby like maniacs already. Once we checked in and paid it was off the our Villa. And it was grand!!!! :thumbsup2

Nate drove the kids over, while Michael, Jenna, and I stopped to get an iced coffee. Remember, I had now been awake for over 24 hours; 28 to be exact with no more than a 20 minute cat nap.

Once we arrived, we all walked up the steps and Jenna was so cute, she opened the door so we could all see together and our mouths fell open. With this being only our 2nd trip to WDW and having stayed at the POR before, this was like unreal to me. Now before the kids could thrash the joint, I yelled to stay put so I could take pictures! I am so quiet and shy, I know this is shocking.

The plan was that Jenna and Nate would have the Master (get it master? Oh I guess you wouldn’t), Michael and I would share one the double Queen with our kids, and her boys would take the double double room. Of course Jenna being Jenna would not stand for that and insisted my girls take the double double so Michael and I could have some privacy. Emma still crashes with her parents or the boys and her boys would take the pullout sleeper with Joshua. To make a long story short, the kids slept all over the place. :lmao: There was so much room…………ready for pics?

Michael is our room Q/Q. Look at that smile.

View from the loft. Outside the door was a great patio that over looked one of the small pools. :yay:

Again words cannot describe our awesome this place was. All of us were overjoyed and Michael was in happy shock. :grouphug:

Our bags were not there but while we were checking out our new home for the next 5 nights, Nate unpacked their vehicle. After a quick snack of I-have-no-idea-what, we were off to MK. We decided on the bus but I only know this after calling Jenna and asking. My ST memory is nil due to too much fun during my undergrad and I didn’t write notes nightly like last trip. I am a slacker. I am ashamed. I am woman. :snooty:

We entered the magic that is the Magic Kingdom, took it all in, and made a game plan. It was warmer than predicted and it appeared more crowded but no worries, it wasn’t!

A couple of pics:

First we got FPs for Splash, rode BTMRR, ate at Pecos, rode POTC, Jungle Cruise, Treehouse, spent a little time in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland grabbed Peter Pan FPs before leaving for our Mother’s Day dinner at ‘Ohana.

A few ride/park fun photos. Love those wiggling ear hippos on the Jungle Cruise:

Continued in next post.........................

Before we get there let me tell you that I had now been awake 35 hours and was fading fast. I mean really fast. I could have fallen asleep standing up. I think Joshua did. We took the Monorail to ‘Ohana for our 5:20 ADR. I just love the first Monorail ride of the trip.

We arrived at ‘Ohana a few minutes early only to find out that the fire pit had caught on fire. Really on fire, like out-of–the-pit on fire. We thought it smelled a little sooty but just thought it was the smoked turkey being cooked a little too long :scared1: Nope. Because the pit was on fire and the fire dept had to come, the fire marshal had to declare when it was safe to reopen, and that was still in process. The sweet yet totally overwhelmed :hyper: hostess said it could be an hour or it could be more. Huh?
While Jenna and I were having the above experience, Michael took this photo of Nate and the kids:

IMG_1056.jpg

We decided that we would at least find a seat while we decided if we would wait it out or try our luck some place else. We took a seat downstairs on the big comfy couches and within seconds Joshua, Chloe, Emma, and Jon were sawing logs. They were out. We were stuck. Jenna remembered we did have a Chef Mickey’s for 7ish but since the kids were asleep and Chef Mickey’s food sucks, we sent the boys to the bar to grab us cocktails. Jenna got a Pina Colada and I got a Rum Runner. They were both good and strong- just what the mamas needed. pirate:

A couple of Poly pics. This place is so beautiful.

Jenna and I were mid-chatter when it was she, who noticed first, that Michael was chatting with the DVC dude whom I will be forever grateful to :worship: Michael came over, looked at me and said: I will have to do more research. That is what his tombstone will say: Father, Husband, Firefighter, Friend, Researcher. ;)

At about 6:00, Michael went to check on the status of our table and it was ready. I guess they had been seating people for 30 minutes but due to sleeping children, strong drinks, and DVC, we hadn’t a clue. We woke the sleeping kids and made our way upstairs. :dance3:

We were promptly sat and our server was Johnny on the spot. His name wasn’t really Johnny but he was attentive. He took our drink order and the feasting began. Emma and Josh slept through almost the entire meal. None of the kids wanted to take part in the dancing or coconut races even- they were all beat! We all gorged except for the babies and because they ate little to nothing so I asked our server if we could take what was left with us. He said they were not allowed, I explained that we had to pay, they didn’t eat, and voila, they said okay. We packed up the leftovers but not before stuffing ourselves on the best bread pudding anywhere!!!!!!

Here’s a photo of it half eaten:
IMG_1061.jpg

In fact here are a few pictures. But before you look, remember, I have now been awake 36+ hours and my children and hubby almost as long. We look like hell in all of these photos. Don’t hate us because we are beautiful ;)

Me and Jenna. Not sure if I am grabbing her **** or broccoli:

Nate and his side kicks. Clearly Gab did a little shopping during the fire pit fiasco, notice the Mickey icon ring and Mickey charm thing on her wrist:

After dinner Jenna and I were going to take Joshua, Chloe, and Emma back to the Villa but for some insane reason  they got a micro burst of energy so went back to MK. More photos...........

We stayed only a short while and headed back. Nate, Michael, Gabby, Chris, and Jon toughed it out and “rode the _ _ _ _ (it's with a bad word) out of everything”. These are Nate’s exact words.
By the time we got back our bags were there and we took the kids for a short swim. After the others got back, I unpacked while Jenna and Nate headed to Walmart to get our groceries, somewhere around midnight.
It was a very long and very wonderful 42 hours awake and great first day of our trip! pixiedust: Now Jenna will fill in the blanks and add her photos :teeth:

Wow, the fire pit really caught on fire? I mean, c'mon, it IS a fire pit...so we'd expect a fire!! :rotfl2::lmao:

Glad you were able to still eat there...but you guys are most crazy! I think after 24 hrs I would have crashed...I can't believe you guys went over 40 hrs withou sleep!! :scared1:

If I went for that long without sleep I probably would've been so grumpy they would have had to of kicked me outta the "happiest place on earth".:rotfl: Holy Moly. That red eye flight looked BRUTAL...

Love the Ohana pictures! I wish we had an Ohana ADR for June but no luck, I was too late on the ADR uptake. We did get there in May though and I looovvveeee that bread pudding! I seriously embarrassed my poor mother because I literally sat at the table going "Mmmmm. Mmmmmm. Mmmmm." the entire time I was eating. I really like to incorporate as many of the senses as I can while enjoying my food.:rotfl2:

Jenna...great photos of Pop

We stayed there two years and loved it. The theming is so much fun and I love that music on the buses :goodvibes

keith - i think your little niece is just ADORABLE! and to me it doesn't look like she's saying "no" but instead like she's pondering her thoughts.

First we got FPs for Splash, rode BTMRR, ate at Pecos, rode POTC, Jungle Cruise, Treehouse, spent a little time in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland grabbed Peter Pan FPs before leaving for our Mother’s Day dinner at ‘Ohana.

whoa!!!!! my head is totally spinning after that!

I have been itching to fill out the papers and get this baby closed!

Too funny! :rotfl2:

 I know how rotten I look.

Wow, the fire pit really caught on fire? I mean, c'mon, it IS a fire pit...so we'd expect a fire!! :rotfl2:

And when the host told us I was thinking, well it is a fire pit.

Glad you were able to still eat there...but you guys are most crazy! I think after 24 hrs I would have crashed...I can't believe you guys went over 40 hrs withou sleep!! :scared1:

Do you know that point after the point of exhaustion? I was past even that point. I closed my eyes the entire time during Philharmagic. ;)

If I went for that long without sleep I probably would've been so grumpy they would have had to of kicked me outta the "happiest place on earth".:rotfl: Holy Moly. That red eye flight looked BRUTAL...

I don't think I was grumpy but you'd have to ask Jenna. The red-eye totally sucked.

It's amazing. :cloud9: I think we licked the plates! :rotfl2: Classy, I know. Their wings and salad are so yummy too. I thought the potatoes were back but we got noodles.

Renta....Your OKW pics are great

It looks so roomy in there..

I believe it's almost 2,400 sq ft. It has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms! :thumbsup2

I can hear ya yelling at kids to FREEZE...got to take some pics for my DIS FRIENDS :rotfl:

:lmao: That is exactly what I did. And no one fliched. Jenna's kids are scarred from the infamous Christmas Banister Incident 2007. :rotfl2::angel:

I have no idea how you all lasted that long on 42 hrs of no sleep :scared1:

Must be the Disney Magic :wizard:

Must have been. pixiedust: Like I said, right before dinner I could have slept standing up but after dinner I felt a little better but by 8 pm, I was toast. Burnt, crusty toast! :scared:

That stinks about Fire at Ohanas....Glad some drinkie poos were able to help pass the time :dance3:

Drinks and the DVC seed was planted! pirate:

So, what is next popcorn::

I believe Jenna will post her pics and give her take on the day and then Day 2: MGM, Nate and his boys go to the Shuttle Launch, and Keith and Tracy arrive. :grouphug:

that's great stuff. :rotfl:

Our kids were so grossed out!

Thanks, I felt like crusty travel garbage! :scared1:
