Which way to Disneyland? TR (comparison update 7/26)

Welcome back home:goodvibes Glad to hear you had a great time and congrats about your teaching job. DH:teacher: is a teacher and it really is a great job.

Cant wait to hear about your trip:woohoo:

We're back! In fact we got back Sunday evening.:goodvibes Had a fabulous time. I've unpacked everything and am almost done with all the laundry. :laundy: I also got a call while away offering me the 5th grade teaching position I interviewed for. I accepted and now have been stopping by the school to get things squared away for the Fall.:scared1: (No more trips during value season.:sad2:) Today I'm off to the grocery store to restock our pantry! Tomorrow I'll start uploading pictures for my TR.

Disneyland and Disneyworld truly are two complete different experiences. Can't wait to share our trip. We fell in love with Coronado Island. DH had to miss that part of the trip so I'm already trying to figure out when I can take him out there. So beautiful.:cloud9:

Just wanted to thank those of you who wished us well after we departed. On our way to Universal on Saturday I logged onto the disboards with my DH phone to look up my Universal itinerary. I was able to read all your well wishes and it warmed my heart. Thank you all.

I was a lurker on your First TR (with two broken arms): which i just loved. I can't believe I just found your new PRE-TR and soon to be TR... :surfweb: I'm excited to read about your trip.. I truly hope you had an amazing time.

I'm glad you had a great time! Really excited to hear about your experience and happy for you with the teaching job! :cool1:

Woohoo!!! Congrats on the teaching job!!! Doesn't get much better than finding out you got a job while in WDW!!!:goodvibes

Can't wait to hear all about your trip. I have never been to DL and I will be interested in hearing all of your impressions of it!

And glad to hear you fell in love with Coronado...I did too. I stayed at the Del - you should too for at least 1 nite with hubby to show him what he missed. It is the perfect little spot for a romantic trip!

Can't wait for the 1st installment of the TR!!!:banana:

Subbing so I can read all about it! We just got back a few weeks ago and it was amazing as usual. We've all had some feelings of being "homesick" for Disneyland since we've been back.

Thanks so much everyone for responding. It's starting to feel not quite so lonely here on the Disneyland thread.:cool1: I've decided since I really don't have too many pages I'll just start my TR here and post a table of contents on the first page. I will move quickly through the beginning of our trip since we spent it in San Diego/ Coronado and I know most here really want to hear about Disneyland!

We ended up telling the girls two days before the flight that we were going to the beach w/ Granita. They still had no idea about Disneyland or DH's arrival.;) They were very excited and even DD8 was not bothered about missing the last couple days of school. I did not realize just how excited they'd get about the beach alone. It had been 3 years since they'd seen the ocean and DD5 did not remember it.

DH drove us early Sat. morning and we were on our first ride of the trip at DIA.

We fell in love with Coronado island. It is connected to downtown San Diego via a long bridge. I had read that it has one of the best beaches in the US and that it is a better place for families with young children. The waves are very calm and the party crowd of San Diego doesn't hang out here. We found this to be true and the perfect fit for us. Absolutely gorgeous. I was surprised by the weather. Almost every morning it was overcast and slightly chilly until after noon. Infact it was cooler there than at home in Colorado while we were gone. I only packed one light jacket for each girl and they were worn daily.

We were starving so went to lunch and then the girls headed straight to the beach!
DD5 found a ladybug and was so excited.

The girls spent the sunny afternoon on the Coronado beach in front of The Del while Granita walked the town with her good friend we were visiting. It was a great relaxing start to the trip. The girls and I were in bed by 8:30 p.m. Ready for our day at Sea World tomorrow!:fish:

Yay!! You started!!!!!:cool1: Love the pics of the girls...they looks so cute in their little coverups and getting ready to travel!!! Love DD5 little bows....soo cute!!!:cutie:

Yay, TR started! So far so good, the beach does look nice! We've been to SeaWorld here in San Antonio a hundred times so its nice to hear of other's experiences.

Those are the cutest girls EVER!! I'm glad you've started your trip report and I am on board for the entire journey. I'm so jealous....I've never seen the Pacific Ocean!

Don't worry about putting too much in about San Diego or Coronado...I am sure 99% of us would love to read it and those who are only interested in DL can just skip ahead!;)
