Rip, Ride, Rockit!

I got some pics today of one of the tests. It was from the first drop till the end, it was fast and really really quiet!!! Made me want to ride it when I come back for HHN

yeah i was there on the 24th ( sunday ) and there were people lined up just outside the stage area on the grass, wasn't sure why, but i think it was because i guess they were wanting some first looks of the test rides.

that thing gave me vertigo looking up at it. it loks freaky tbh

They were lined up for entrance to TNA wrestling last night. No one knew about the random day tests they were doing, other than word of mouth once you got into Universal. But yeah, the lines by the stage were to get into Soundstage 21 for the wrestling show.

I'm sure after hearing about the upcoming tests, some were waiting to see that, but most for the TNA show.

Thanks for the pictures! Now we need some more videos so we can judge the speed. It looked sooooooooooooooooooo slow in that other video.

Oh my goodness, I'm excited about this ride. Thanks for posting the great pictures.

It was fast when I took the shots, standing right under it there in NY, it was pretty neat. I think they were testing the breaking system in the video. That's what the one security guy told me.

My first picture shows the car hanging there, it was like that for a while, just stopped at the top , not moving!

so where will the que line be?

this ride looks freakin awsome !! don't think i'll be riding it tho

OMG, what awesome pics! I'm going to do an Examiner piece and link back over here so all my readers can drool as much as I am drooling right now. We just got back from the Manta passholder morning and got to ride it 9 times, but looking at Rip Ride Rockit I'm wonder if it's going to blow Manta away! (Manta is my second fave coaster at the moment, behind Magnum at Cedar Point).

Update: Akdar, I hope you don't mind I linked over to the thread from my article: http://bit.ly/mSsUZ

I did use your screen name as the taker of the pics. and didn't actually use them, just linked people back over here.

Manta DOES look pretty sweet!! They have a similar coaster at Six Flags Great America named Superman where you are suspended in the same fashion. We absolutely loved it!! Those loops give you a whole new feeling when you're doing it on your back.

Here is a link that Jack filmed on Manta. I found this over on Deb's Allears page.

Yep, I did a report on Manta too when we were there for media day. It was pretty cool because we got to talk to some of the people behind its design: http://bit.ly/gEN96

That event was what convinced DH and I to get Platinum passes so we can do the passholder mornings now and then get the re-rides once that starts.
