*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

:tinker::darth::sail:party::rainbow::jumping1::cake::cake:
Good morning girls!!
Today is my Friday!!
Tomorrow is Kaelebs school BBQ (bleh...but I go anyway), there is nothing like rubbery burgers, cold beans, crunchity cookies, milk & having lunch with my kid. hmm....maybe I will bring Subway????

Can I just say that I am SO HAPPY Kaeleb only has 5 more baseball games, then we will be DONE with that team. Seriously his coach needed a time out last night. I mean really they are 9 & 10 and he made such a donkey out of himself.......

I hope everyone is having a great morning.

Hi Deb, I think we are living parallel lives. We have school carnival tonight, with bbq. At least this year they are bringing in a caterer and we will bbq shredded pork sandwiches. I am hoping for improvement.

I seriously don't get those baseball coaches at all. My son's team was officially crowned league champions last night. We have one more make up game tonight, and then we have tournament of champions this weekend, which due to the coaches behavior, we have decided not to participate in. We have had a Deception Pass Camping trip scheduled for 9 months, and even my son, who loves baseball, is unwilling to miss his camping trip. :woohoo::scared1: I am debating turning his behavior into the LLboard, and I found out recently that several other parents also are considering this. Apparently he is back this year after having been banned from coaching for a year for the same reasons. Wish I would have known that sooner. I may have done the year differently. oh well, onward, upward we shall go.

Smiley from my little pill who had his back molar break in half yesterday. Did I mention that my big one lost his molars at age 7, resulting in $2500 worth of orthodontist work and is now scheduled for phase two at an additional $4200. Really don't need the little one following that pattern.

Beth, I loved your story of money found and returned. You are a great Mom!
Kelly, sounds like progress to me(probation, that is!)
I'm sorry everyone, I am out of time, but Hello, Hello, and have a great day.
Tracey

Morning ladies! Geez, where is everyone lately??

Lisa, glad things are back to normal for you. Looking forward to seeing more of you around here. :thumbsup2

Kelly, wow, good thing Shane checked the mail! Have fun visiting with Michelle and her family. That was sure nice of you to open up your house like that. :goodvibes

Tracey, good to see you. Have fun on that camping trip, and good luck dealing with the coach. What a pain. Oh, and good luck with the dental bills too. I feel your pain on that one!

Laurie, I could not have predicted the winner either!

Sarah, Hi! Have a great day.

WOW, what a show!! I loved it. Adam's performance with KISS was just amazing!! He totally rocks!!
5.gif

Did you see those shoes he was wearing?!?! He had on Bratz shoes! :lmao: But I got to give him credit for being able to even move in those things. lol
And I don't care that he's 10 years younger then me, and supposedly gay, he is hot! :smokin:

Kris' duet with Keith Urban was good. I liked it. I was so shocked when he won. I don't think anyone expected that. But you know, whatever, good for him. He'll do well, but so will Adam.
In fact, last night watching the news, I saw two interviews and both had the title, "New Idol Winner Crowned" and guess what? Both interviews focused on Adam! That's all they talked about. If I didn't know better, watching that I would have thought Adam HAD won. :rotfl:

He's still clearly the press favorite and will do great no matter what. This is the first season of AI that I've watched every episode. It was a great group, and I can't wait to see what they do. I'd even like to see the tour which is the first time I've ever thought that.

Anyway, good job to Kris, but Adam still rocks!!!!! :cool1:

I'm sorry..for some reason I nearly spit my drink all over the laptop when I read this!!! :rotfl:

Yummm....pulled pork!!
I am getting Kaeleb & I Subway before the BBQ. Although, pulled pork sounds so much better.

So here is my rant.
I am usually NOT the mom who complains. But yesterday I did.
This is Kaelebs first year of kid pitch, he isn't that great, he gets walked a lot, but he always, always scores, unless there are 3 outs.
One kid looks at him and say, why are you even here? You are going to strike out anyways.
Then this one kids just picks on everyone. Then the coaches kid just pushes eveyone around. Really, he will be walking from one end of the dugout to the other and if you are in his way, he will just shove you out of the way.
The kids were not playing so great the first 2 innings. The coach, seriously had a melt down. :sad2:
He through the stat book down and yelled, I am pretty sure he was cussing.
So yesterday morning Kaeleb broke down and was like I am not playing basball anymore.
I called his assistant coach, he tries to keep the team positive and told him.
It was a strange call, I felt like he was parenting me (like he was my dad, he was its ok, tell me how you feel, it was funny, but strange...)
So he called Kaeleb last night & so he agreed to come to the game tonight. He is talking to Tom the one kids dad (our older kids have played ball together before), because Tom would not allow his son to talk like that.
So now I feel like that parent.

So hopefully things will be better for the next 5 games.
But seriously this coach...is crazy.

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a splendid day. I'm hanging in there. I'm having a horrible reaction to a medication and I feel like I'm dry drowning. I can't breathe for the life of me. The doctor says it should be better by Friday afternoon. So I stayed home from school today. I do have awesome news though... well for me anyway. I left class early yesterday morning when I started hyperventilating and the professor (the one I couldn't stand) emailed me today offering me an independent study option, that way I won't have to be at school 4-5 days a week. Bless him! It's a performance art class and everyone in there is so immature. All we do is go out in public and make fools out of ourselves and call it "art". I could cry I'm so relieved.

I'll be back in a little while, I have some puttering around to do and I'm really hungry!

Oh my gosh all of the BBQ and pulled pork talk I want a BBQ pork sandwich from Big Dave's now.... so badly! It's this mom & pop deli in Zionsville, where my parents live. Unfortunately it's 25 minutes away and I'll be going back there tonight. Gas prices have gone up. Is it worth it? Hmmm.....

Some coaches are just jerks. Tay has had some horrible coaches. But lucky she still plays. In turn she has had some great coaches, and that has really made the difference. Her first coach ever was great....she still talks about him, and the last coach she had is wonderful. He is the reason she played again this season. We actually followed him to another city to play for him (at his request). If he loves the sport, don't let one coach ruin it.

Good morning ladies!!!

Kelly, after my braces come off, my dentist said I should all my silver fillings white also. It's not so much painful (I've had one done before), but you still need to be numbed and that's a pain.

Tracey, it's nice to hear you're not the only parent who feels that way about that coach. I say you should turn him in the LL board too.

Deb, I hope things get better with Kaeleb's baseball and his coach.

Bridgette, that's wonderful the professor offered that for you. How nice of him!!! :goodvibes

Thanks.
The coach is just a jerk.
He has always had really great coaches the last 4 years (T-ball & Instructional). But this one is well.......

Michelle & Kelly have a good weekend visiting.

My nephew has played ball for years but the coaches have never been that great. Now my mom and my nephews grandfather and stepfather are considering being a coaching team. They would be great! My mom used to help out when I played softball. It wasn't too bad.

Sarah

Hi Tracy! (waves) I am sorry about your coach! That stinks. I would turn him in too. Also about your dental stuff. OUCH!! That is why we had to switch because Our old on cancelled our ins and we just couldn't afford to have NO ins. Good luck! That is awful!

Deb that is the pits about your coach too! I am sorry Kaleb felt that way. That is so sad when coaches make kids feel bad about their sports. I hope that he wants to play again!!

Bridgette that is awful about your meds. I hope you start feeling better. That is cool though that you can take the class at home. I know I had some meds that made me really sick to my stomach so I had to stop taking them. I take SO many stupid meds I wish I didn't have to! Hope that it all starts leveling out for you soon!

Just got off the phone with Michelle and it all looks good! If Janelle or Wendy sees this and is interested in meeting up for lunch or dinner let us know. That would be fun! I bet Michelle wouldn't mind and I am sure we could work it in one day. A mini meet :)

Anyway I am off to run my loop. See ya! :)

Thanks for saying that your news focussed on Adam. Even Kris said that Adam should have won, which I thought was refreshing. I'm feeling the same way about the tour. I need a thirteen year old kid I can bring... :lmao:
It was quite a show. I loved it when Kara sang.

Sorry to hear about the teeth, Tracey, and the coach, Deb. Everyone have a great day!

Hi friends! I am super busy trying to play catch up at work today, but I at least wanted to pop on and say hello. The leadership institute that I was facilitating was tons of fun, but I am exhausted and trying to readjust to Pacific time after a week of being on Eastern time.

Hope that everyone had a great week. Over the weekend I will try to go back and see what I missed, but hopefully Donna, Beth and Amy will be able to catch me up when we meet for lunch tomorrow!

Hi all -

Still catching up but wanted to stop in -

Bridgette - Hope you feel better soon and that's great about your professor - they can act like caring humans once in a while. ;)

To all the dental Divas - I'm with ya...Dentists stink and teeth problems stink.

Deb and others with coaching problems - I feel your pain. I went through several years of coaching issues with my DD and I too am not the type of parent that likes to run to the coach with issues but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do! It's a shame that they can take the fun out of the game for the kids!

I haven't been watching AI but Bob's DD was totally into it so I knew what was going on. She was not happy with the winner. Very bummed out last night! I've been trying to find out today when the tour is in the LA area because I thought it would be fun to give her tickets for her BD which is June 8th. I may be too late but thought I'd try but the AI site is totally slow and won't load. I'm sure it's overloaded with users today.

Hey Donna - Lakers/Nuggets again tonight! I'll get to watch it instead of text watching like the other night! I know we'll be cheering for different teams - Good luck! ;) I hope my Nuggest show up to play like they did the first night! They can be on again/off again!

I hope Dawn, Linda and Bree had a great time last night and Bree will be celebrating soon with finals are finished! :woohoo:

Wishing everyone have a great day! One more day until the 3 day weekend!

Debra, sorry about the idiot coach and the hassles Kaeleb and you are going through with him.

Sarah, I find many albino hairs on my head.

Jane, welcome back!!!

Bridgette, I hope you feel better soon and congrats on getting the option of an independent study.

Hi Vicki, Christine, Stacie, Courtney, Kelly and anyone else I missed!! :)

This day is just dragging for me............

Hi all -

I hope Dawn, Linda and Bree had a great time last night and Bree will be celebrating soon with finals are finished! :woohoo:

Wishing everyone have a great day! One more day until the 3 day weekend!

Don't forget about me! I was there too!

We had an AWESOME time last night. The meal was very good--parts of it unbelievable, parts of it just so so--but the company was wonderful! We were seated with a nice couple--he was from Fresno, she was from Irvine and they were really nice and friendly. We all had a great time laughing and such together. There were a few "technical" difficulties--the entrance set-up was crazy--we had to go out to the Esplanade between the two parks and stand around for 1/2 hour while they cleared the park; then I finally was in pain from standing so I asked when we were going in and they took us right in--they were very nice. The other "glitch" was that by the time we got to the main entree I was full and they wouldn't let us take it out with us--something about food temperature issues. Very strange. Other people were upset too about that. Then we were escorted after the event by a CM through a very quiet DCA to the Calif. Grand entrance--it was beautiful! We all went back to the room Dawn and I were in to watch the last hour of American Idol--we were all shocked by the outcome! I have pics of all the food and will post them later. Right now I'm at a client's so can't "Chat" much and can't catch up right now either. Hope everyone's having a great day and will check in later--as I'm sure Dawn, Linda and her DD will!

and I will just say, if you ever need a bodyguard, Dawn and Linda are the gals to have!!!!! :scared1:

Oh Cheryl I am sorry! I didn't mean to exclude you! I'll make it up to you next time we meet...I'll buy!! Glad you had a great time and thanks for sharing with us!
