What do you make of this stupid article

Didn't read it all but my first reaction was what a load of rubbish!

I could write a reply but on second thoughts, why bother!

All I can say is "WOW!!!" :sad2: It never fails to amaze/horrify me how some women seem to like to put other women down - don't we have enough crap without our fellow females putting the boot in...? :confused3

haven't read it as it is a daily mail link .:rotfl2:
And quite right too!!! :lmao: I picked up a copy whilst waiting for the garage to fit my number plates on Monday morning - so much unbelievable incomprehensible tripe!!! Tho' I did learn that nasal waxing is the next big thing in personal grooming... :rolleyes1

The daily mail is the most hate filled and misogynist paper around so nothing would surprise me with them. They seem to think that everything wrong with this country is the fault of single mothers, working mothers, or teenage mothers.:headache:

Last time I saw a copy they were criticising some female celeb for going out in tracksuit bottoms with no makeup, shock horror, a woman does the grocery shopping without looking immaculate!!

Don't forget immigrants!
This woman obviously hasn't worked in some of the places I have (agency work is good in that you get definitely get to see the good, bad and ugly!!) but then again it sounds like she's on another planet anyway ;)

yep, them too and obese people, I can't stand the Daily Mail, filled with hate! I hate how people see it as the working class paper - NO ITS NOT, the broadsheet papers that people see as an "upper class, educated paper" like the Times represent the working class better than the Daily Mail!

What an idiot. This woman clearly believes that she is 'championing' the working mother - well, she certainly doesn't speak for me. Nothing but narrow-minded bigotry - just what I would expect from The Daily Mail.

I would expect nothing less. It pains me daily that my FIL is a daily reader of the Daily hateMail and I have to put up with it lying around the kitchen table every day while I live here.

It did amuse me when watching something on TV a while back that mentioned a report in the Guardian at which he loudly scoffed "you can't believe a thing that load of rubbish prints!" DH almost had to leave the room. Ever since I've wanted to start buying it every day just to make a point...

I just had to chime in here-I work for a newspaper in the united states and every time you click on the link to that paper, the paper tracks it.

They use the "click throughs" to encourage advertisers to advertise with them-like, "see how many people are visiting our website and reading our paper".

So, if you don't like this sort of thing, don't support that paper by clicking on their websites and posting their websites where thousands of other people all over the world will read it.

You are actually helping them enormously and encouraging them to continue printing stories like this.

Papers hate it when their stories receive no feedback. They'll happily take negative feedback. Start ignoring these stories, support the ones you WANT to see, and the stupidity will slowly go away.

It really does work like that at newspapers. :thumbsup2

I didn't click on the link and refuse too!! so agree 100% with you I refuse to send traffic to the Daily Mail.

I could seriously get on my high horse here! Speaking as a woman who doesn't want children I really get tired of hearing people judge me because of it. Some treat me like a monster, some instantly assume I'm incapable of giving birth, and others just patronise my choice by telling me I'll "Come to my senses eventually.".... I really tire of being told I'm less of a female just because I don't want to be a mother! I'm not out of tune with my emotions, I'm not a cold hearted person, but I am a very hard worker who cares about the people behind the job as much as the job at hand. My old boss was mother and I'm sorry, she was the coldest and meanest person imaginable!

I didn't click the link, my friend actually texted me about the article earlier today... Only she used far more colourful language than me!

Sorry, my rant ends there!

The woman has got a screw loose!!!!
It's ok to praise the working mother without giving a beating to women who choose not the have kids!! I think it's disgusting that people are expected to conform to what society thinks they should do!! and this woman is not helping matters!
Every woman has a choice (my sister has chosen not to have kids - so what?) it doesn't make them cold and mean if they don't feel motherhood isn't for them!!!
Women should help each other out not slap each other in the face!!!
