I just heard that the man who did the voice of Mickey Mouse died at age 62.

He was the 3rd voice and has done it since the 70's.

I saw it an article about it on msn.com earlier today . I didn't know his wife was also the voice of Minnie - that's so cute!

Yes, I heard that too. How sad for her. I wonder if he was doing the voice of Mickey on the recent Playhouse Disney shows and if they have a replacement.

I was completely shocked when I first found out the news last night. In fact, I even cried a little . I grew up with Mickey Mouse and this was the man who gave the little guy the voice and characterization I have known and loved all my life. Of course, the beloved character himself is alive and well, but for now...there is only silence. I may have never known Mr. Allwine himself, but I still feel a small void of sorrow within.

May he rest in peace. I hope that his wife is doing well...I shall keep her, his friends and family in my prayers.
