Yay Jen! I'm so glad you updated! But I'm even more glad that your life has settled down enough for you to be able to have time for this again. That must be a good sign! :thumbsup2 I'm sorry things have been rough lately.

About the update: Great job!!! I still smile so big when I read about your conversations with Nobby. He seems like quite the character. ;) The Brown Derby sounds delicious! And HOW AMAZING was your special time with Mickey and Minnie!?! :goodvibes Great post.

Yay for the update!! :woohoo:

I TOTALLY agree with you and the Brown Derby and I Love Lucy! I absolutely love that show and when she visits CA and sees all those celebs is a favorite of mine!

Can't wait to see all your photos! :goodvibes

:cheer2: Jen updated!! Jen updated!!

Sorry, I had to get that out first. Now I'll go back and actually read

OK, your Minnie story ROCKS!!! I'm afraid I'm one of those people who have NO idea what to say to the characters so I stick with Hi, smile for the photographer then go on my way with no fun stories to tell...sad I know

Oh no I used to get shy too...I found that on a trip where I was going solo I had to come out of my shell or nothing would have happened for me...it was great!! However I would never think of you as one of those people, you are special people to me!!!

WOW - Can I be the first to congratulate you on the resurrection of your infamous trip report? You sure haven't lost any of your literary skills. Welcome back!

I hope you will have time to post your pics before you leave on your next grand journey where you will finally get to meet the one and only LL. :cool1:

Why thank you!!! I'm glad so many people still stuck around to read!!

Ummm well see I had plans for that but along with my keys that have gone missing so has the flash drive with my Disney pictures but my hubby has promised to search the house top to bottom to help locate it. However I'm not going to let that stop me I'm going to keep typing away!!!

Jen updated! Jen updated! Jen updated!

WOOO HOOOOO!

I can't believe you met Prince John! I hope you bring some of that character mojo with you on Friday because I want to meet some rare characters! :yay:

Good for you riding Tower of Terror, I don't think I've got it in me to ride it. Toooooooo scary.

I am glad you enjoyed your Brown Derby meal. I can't wait to to go!!

I had some really really great character meets during my trip and I am spreading Pixie Dust that you and I will be as lucky...it was a great time to me to see all these rare characters out and about!

My jaw acctually DROPPED when I saw you had updated, Jen!

Great ring story.....wonder where I could find a BIG bracelet/ring? :upsidedow

Well, some of us have to be lame, Katie, so that the fun people's stories are fun to listen to!

LOL...I guess it was pretty shocking that I updated LOL!!

You are not lame, you are one of the funnest people I know!! I imagine you have quite a few stories you could share Julez!!!

I am sticking with you! :goodvibes What a great update. I'm looking forward to pictures!

Nobby cracks me up. He is one funny gnome!

SO relieved that you enjoyed Brown Derby. Sounds like a delicious meal. Drool.

ToT... I hope to overcome my fear in September but I am not committing to anything. :sad2: And I'm DEFINITELY not going on right after lunch! :scared:

LOVE your Minnie and Mickey store! :lovestruc Too cute!!!

I really really enjoyed my time with Nobby he is definitely a character himself LOL!!!!

Brown Derby was amazing and I can't wait to go back and eat lunch there again. I'm totally getting the famous cobb salad this time.

Yay! An update! You're one of those writers who doesn't even need the pictures - your storytelling is that good! (However, bring on the pictures, woman! :P)

Excellent update, sounds like a great rest of your day. i really had fun talking to the characters, too, but i certainly didn't have any moments quite as memorable as yours!!

Aww thanks for the great compliment I really enjoy writing! I wish I had more time!!!

Whoa! I totally had that same conversation with Logan before braving the Tower of Terror. He did not take it as well as Nobby, and almost refused to ride the Rockin' Rollercoaster after wards.

The verdict is
ToT: 0
RnRC: 132816705

He liked it THAT much.
I love your update!:cheer2:

Tower of Terror is an adventure all in its self for me. I really have to talk myself up, oh wait I mean talk Nobby up before we can get on that...its quite the journey LOL!

LOVE the TOT description! I'd totally chicken out on that one.

YAY! An update!
We all know how life gets, so no worries! Besides, you have had another trip to plan. :thumbsup2

Your meet with Minnie was AWESOME! What a magical memory.

Brown Derby sounds soooo yummy. Do you think it's a good "date night" type of place? Or should we aim more for something like the California Grille or Yachtsman's?

And GOOD JOB NOBBY (and Jen ;)) for doing ToT with your eyes open! I scream on that ride so much, I'm sure I'm great entertainment to those around me! :rotfl:

While I think Brown Derby would be very nice for a date night I think you would find those other 2 restaurants even more suited for a romantical night out!

(sung to sailing, sailing...) Waiting , waiting, for Jenny to update! :rolleyes1

Come on Jenny! :cheer2: Your adoring fans are waiting for you to tel us more!

Chapter 15: EPCOT Shared with Someone Special

Good Morning fellow Disney fanatics!! Yes has my dear friend Paula mentioned I need to get this show on the road because I have a PTR to start…I have always worked much better under deadlines. Well as it turns out when I don’t have my photos already uploaded I forget a lot of things LOL!! So I’m going to go back a bit and edit the last chapter after I’m done writing this one LOL!

Well after the amazing night, and great character interaction of the night before Nobby and I definitely slept well that night and were ready to go the next morning. This morning we would be meeting up with a very special young lady in my life and exploring EPCOT. When planning this trip it turned out one of my teen girls (from my youth group where Phillip and I are sponsors) would also be down at Disney the same time and we made plans to explore together and give her parents some alone time, yeah I’m romantical like that! Nobby and I arose and got ready for the day but as it turned out we had more time than I had previous thought we would have, so we decided to explore the resort a bit and take some pictures. I really do enjoy Pop Century and all the fun things they have around.

I made sure to try and find if they had a year sign dedicated to my birth year and sure enough…here is a memorable moment from 1982.

DSCF0867.jpg

After getting our fill of Pop Century, Nobby and I made the trek to our car and headed to EPCOT. On the way I called Steph and asked about her ETA, well they were running a bit behind so I told her I was going to head to Soarin’ and get a fast pass and would meet her there to get hers, a plan was made YAY!! I quickly learned that I’m not the greatest at finding my car in a parking lot (I have trouble at Wal-Mart), so I made sure to snap a picture of the sign near my car and to memorize what monorail number I was at, trust me the adventures in parking lots would become a Disney tradition for me LOL!

DSCF0876.jpg

(Oops maybe I shouldn’t be saying this with Paula and C reading this LOL), no worries ladies I have always made it home safely LOL! I had never been to a rope drop at EPCOT so I was excited to see how they do things. I really enjoyed watching all the characters come out; I was right up on the rope so I got some face time with some pretty cool characters.

Then the countdown began, and the cattle herding to Soarin’ began. Wow, people are excited to get to that ride. I did my best to get off to the side and just take my time to get there, it wasn’t like I was in a big hurry I was going to wait to ride with Steph. Shortly after rope drop, Steph arrived and her introductions were made to Nobby, Nobby loved this girl, she was right up his alley. While I’m the safe, conservative, not going to break the rules type, Steph is a teenager so it worked out nice LOL!! She was more than happy to help cart him around. (Going to interject, with Steph’s age I’m not going to be posting a lot of pictures of her in here, I’m just not comfortable doing that with a child that is not my own, I do have permission to post a few, but I’m going to avoid frontal shots if at all possible). After Soarin, it was off to Mission Space. Well I have to admit something to you all, the big stern, stick to her guns high school biology teacher, yeah I’m a softy when it comes to my girls in my youth group. After some minor arm twisting, I was walking onto the orange side of Mission Space, yes you heard right, the orange side. I forewarned Steph that if I was going to vomit I was going to vomit on her; she just laughed and said come Ms. O, we can do this.

DSCF0891.jpg

Steph and I had a blast on this ride. It had way more to do with the foreigners who were riding with us who were absolutely amazing and hilarious. They kept asking if we knew what we were supposed to do and we said press buttons, so off we were pressing and clicking all types of buttons LOL…we were laughing so hard and we hadn’t even taken off yet. During takeoff the gentleman next to Steph was screaming and just having a great time and we were all laughing and it was great, totally took my mind off of the impending doom I was so certain off. I would gladly ride the orange side again as long as my companions promised to be that much fun, nothing like making a good times happen at Disney, these are the type of memories that stick with you. After Mission Space, Steph insisted we explore the gift shop with Nobby so we did. Then Steph informed me of a tradition she has at Disney, the wearing of hats (LOL this girl is a future DISer in the making LOL). So I had to put on funny hats, I resisted the urge to Lysol the hats first LOL, it was a great time, don’t you think I would make a great astronaut LOL!

DSCF0892.jpg

Then it was off to Test Track, where my very smart Disney companion was more than happy to take the single rider line (I’m telling you peeps, this girl has DISer written all over her LOL) we made sure to take some of the obligatory line pictures, this time Nobby refused saying the floor was too dirty, that gnome and his pickiness LOL!

DSCF0897.jpg

We loved Test Track and ran back through to ride it one more time, there was absolutely no wait for us!!

Lunchtime was vastly approaching and I was treating Steph to lunch at Les Chefs, she was very excited about this, because usually her family only eats in Germany and she had never eaten anywhere else in WS. Well I was about to make sure this changed; I knew Steph would enjoy Les Chefs. So we waltzed our way through Canada and it was a great time to reminisce about our mission trip to Quebec.

DSCF0905.jpg

I’m pretty sure we walked through England, have no photo proof of this but knowing the WS map like I do, I can almost guarantee we walked through England LOL! Then we arrived in France at Les Chefs.

DSCF0908.jpg

Steph and I were both very excited, this was one of the meals I was very much looking forward to and let me tell you it did not disappoint. After the 10th time of reassuring Steph that she was not to look at prices and just order whatever her heart desired (silly girl LOL) she finally relaxed and began exploring the menu. Steph and I had been granted a great two-seat table right next to the window so while we were deciding on food we were able to people watch which was a lot of fun for us. Later in the meal, the street performers for France would come out and we would have some of the best seats in the house to watch their performance! Well while we were deciding Julie our server brought us some warm bread and finally we decided on our food.

DSCF0924.jpg

Steph choose the French Menu which consisted of this very yummy (she let me have a bite) French Onion Soup, the Croque Monsieur and Green salad, and the Vanilla Crème Brulee (Steph and I would end up trading desserts at the end…I’m definitely a crème brulee girl LOL).

DSCF0928.jpg

DSCF0929.jpg

DSCF0932.jpg

For my order, I started with the Mushroom and Cheese flatbread (this could have been a meal in itself, good thing I had Steph to share with me), I also choose the Croque monsieur as my main entrée and for dessert I got the poriforles au chocolat (very good but very very rich and Steph liked it more so we traded LOL).

DSCF0931.jpg

Lunch was great we just sat and caught up on her life, sometimes I feel that I don’t put enough time into my girls lives, this was a prime time for her and I to really spend some quality time together and I was so grateful for that opportunity. Then something else fabulous happen, as you might remember I was on the DxDP for this trip, so I was going to pay OOP for Steph. Well when Julie took my KTTW card to take my credits and charge Steph’s to my room, she came back and told me they just rang up both meals as credits…WOOT…I was so happy, I had credits left to use and this helped that and I had more spending money for souvenirs now…that is Disney magic LOL!
After lunch, Steph and I were on a mission to find characters…would we find them or would my luck from the night before have ran out. Well stay tuned….I promise not a long wait; I have a PTR to start LOL!!!!

Yay an update!

First off, that is the cutest astronaut picture I have EVER seen. :rotfl:

That flatbread looks delish! Hmmm, now I want to go back to Chefs for a flatbread. I should have had you give me that dessert picture for our Chefs lunch since I didn't get a picture of mine. :rotfl:

Thank you for taking the 1982 picture at Pop Century, I never got to do that even though it was on my list.

Oh and getting lost in the parking lot!? I would have never expected that from you. :rotfl2: We should have taken pictures too!

Chefs always looks so good!! I adore French Onion soup and the sandwich looks delish (notice the theme of both being topped with CHEESE!!!) YUM Sounds like a great chance to spend some quality time with your student.

We always took a picture of the end of our parking row but we had Patrick with us so we never needed the picture. I swear that kids mind is a steel trap!!

Can't wait for more

Well Jenny! It took you a while but you did NOT disappoint! GREAT Chapter! :thumbsup2 The more I see of Les Chefs the more I want to eat there! The food looks amazing! :) Can't wait for more! :goodvibes

Yay for an update! :yay: I cannot WAIT to go back to Disney in a few weeks. Just reading about Soarin' got my all excited. Madison really liked it too. Great food pics. They're making me hungry!

Oh, I bet Steph was LOVING hanging out with you rather than her parents!!! :yay: What a fun day you both had too-I have to remember about that Single Rider Line at Test Track, I hear it is faster than FP a lot of time.

Great update! :dance3: Soarin FP's and lunch at Chefs. Perfect!

I'm afraid I can't promise you anything re: Mission Space except that I won't go on it. :sad2: More because of the confined space than the motion, though. Test track I can do!

yay for an update!!!

yum yum yummy tum tum!! I can NOT wait to try chefs.....my problem is that I had my heart set on the creme brulee.... but OMGsh Stephs dessert looked SOOOOOO good!! yikes!

Oh well.... may need to stop at the patisserie for creme brulee another day:rolleyes:

And I'm sorry... but ORANGE is NOT my color!:lmao: I need the wimpy side of mission space.... unless you don;'t care if I'm 'indisposed' for a few hours afterward:thumbsup2

OK...keep this baby rolling LOL!!

Paula

So glad you're updating Jen!! I love reading about your adventures with Nobby. It sure sounds like you and Steph had a wonderful time together. How special for both of you!
