I'm already planning on booking
Whispering Canyon for dinner
Crystal Palace for Breakfast
The Princess Breakfast in Norway
50's Prime Time for dinner
Kona for dinner
Chef Mickey's for dinner
Yak and Yeti for dinner

I need one more non park, non character, non buffet dinner

We're a party of 4 with a 4yr old and a 7 yr old. We will be sitting by the pool during the day and going to DTD at night. We have a car, we're staying at CSR. We have no other sit downs planned for this day.

These are what I'm thinking of, which do you think?

Spoodles (have done it- like it)
The Wave (have never done it)
Grand Floridian Cafe
Ohana (have done it- kinda like it)
Captain's Grill (have never done it)
Wolfgang Puck Cafe (have never done it but we love WP express)

Thanks!

I would suggest Ohana, Boma or Wolf Gang Puck since you are going to be at DTD anyway.

How about Ragland Road? I haven't tried it but I've heard a lot of great things. I hope to go on our next trip:goodvibes

I have read RAVE reviews for The Wave and it is on our list to try next trip.

Spoodles (have done it- like it) Will close soon, so may not be an option
The Wave (have never done it) Seems to have a lot of fans on DIS; my 7yo would want to know why we weren't going to Chef Mickey's once we hit that floor though :sad2:
Grand Floridian Cafe This one is on my I'd like to try it list
Ohana (have done it- kinda like it) Not convincing, try something else
Captain's Grill (have never done it) Should be similar to GFC
Wolfgang Puck Cafe (have never done it but we love WP express)

Thanks!

I would go to AKL. Its a buffet, but what a buffet: Boma
or be adventurous and do Sanaa, the new Indian/African that overlooks the savannah. The kids can scope out animals, participate in the drummer parade through the lobby or attend storytime around the fire pit after dinner.

Wave was just OK
GF Cafe-very good
'Ohana-fun, food OK
Captain's Grill- sorry, never done it either
WGP-good, ask for a table overlooking the lake/river

another suggestion is the Turf Club over at Saratog Springs--very good food, ask for a table outside in the screened in patio area--great view of the river and DTD and kids might like the boat ride over.

also how about Raglan Road in DTD, Boma or Sanaa at AKL/Kidani Village

Oooo some great suggestions. I had forgotten about Ragalan Road. We did it last trip and liked it but didn't LOVE it. We've done BOMA twice as a family and I did it once with some friends, each trip I liked it less so i had thought I should probably skip it this trip. I haven't heard of Sanna, I'll have to check out the menu. We're not super adventurous eaters so we'll see but the view of the animals sounds fun.

I love Wolfgang Puck Express so I'm leaning toward the cafe. How is it on the dining plan? What can you choose from? They seem to have a rather complex menu, how about for kids? We're not going to the GF for anything else on this trip so the GF Cafe might be nice so we can look around that gorgeous lobby. I also love the Saratoga Turf Club idea. We all love the boat ride and Saratoga is a beautiful resort. I think I'll go check out their menu! Thanks everyone!

Boma! Oops... it is a buffet however... sorry (seen that stipulation to late)! :rotfl:

I know you are not wanting character dinners but we loved (2 adults and a 17 year old) 1900 Park Fare, the food was more unique than at most places and it was not real busy. The decor was beautiful and the GF was fun to explore.

Ohana was OK. Raglan Road was OK. We enjoyed both but would not have to return (ecspecially to RR).

You have made some great choices... enjoy! :thumbsup2

Since you'll be staying at CSR, what about Maya Grill. We had dinner there last fall and really loved it. Its actually one of the reasons we decided to stay at CSR instead of POP this year.

Really? I've heard from a couple of sources that it is terrible. Must be how you hit it?

I looked at the Sanna menu :rotfl: so NOT for us! My husband would KILL me if I tried to make him eat there  He doesn't 'do' Indian food

We liked Maya Grill pretty well last year, too. The kids got to pick an appetizer, and they were good. Our steaks were pretty yummy. Dessert was just OK, but the rest was pretty good!
