Wishes Do Come True!....a Birthday PTR

Hello my fellow DISers! I want to thank you all for coming to my PTR. As my title suggests,we're going to WDW for my birthday! Before I go any further, I should probably introduce you to my wonderful family! (If you've already read my other PTR and TR, you can skip this part if you want)

Me-Meghan-26 yrs old
I live to dance and that's what I've been doing since I was 5 years old. I've been trained in all forms (ballet, jazz, tap, modern) but I'm currently a ballet teacher. There is no better thing than passing on the love of dance to children. I am also a member of a professional dance team and my teammates are like sisters to me. Let's see...what else...oh yeah! I've been going to WDW since I was 2 years old (thanks Mom and Dad!) and there is no better place to go on vacation. This upcoming trip will be my 9th trip to WDW.

DH-Tony-25 years old
Tony is the most wonderful husband and father. Our DD is definately daddy's little girl! Anyways...he works for a local bank and loves all things sports. He played baseball in HS and he still enjoys being active. He's also very supportive of my dancing which is wonderful. I'm out of the house almost every night of the week. He didn't grow up going to WDW (his 1st trip was with my family when he was 18!), but he sure loves it now! This will be his 4th trip to Disney.

DD-Madison-6 (and a half) years old
She is the love of our lives and she puts a smile on my face every single day. She takes Irish dance classes and loves cats. Maddie loves to ride her bike and wants to play soccer this summer. She also loves to swim. I've really started to turn her into a Disney fanatic! This will be her 3rd trip to WDW.

Ok. On to the good stuff!!! As you can see, we did just visit WDW a few months ago. We stayed off-property from Jan 24-31. We surprised our DD with that trip. You can read all about it here:

That trip was all my DH's idea, and I must say, this one was his idea too. You see, we got a pin code in the mail around April 20th. It was for the kids stay, play and dine free. I really didn't think anything of it. I thought there was no way we could go back this year. I almost threw it out! But, I held onto it and showed it to my DH later that evening. He actually thought it was a good idea! Wow!!! So, I spent the next few days calling Disney and getting quotes for different resorts and such. Thank goodness for free long distance!


So, our trip is all booked! I'd love to tell you all about it right now, but I just don't have the time. I have a game to get ready for (remember that dance team I told you about? We dance for a professional lacrosse team and we havea playoff game tonight!). But don't worry, I'll be back real soon to let you know all the details!

I'm back!!! It's been a crazy couple of days, but this month is only going to get busier. So, let me share with you a few details of this upcoming trip:

Like I mentioned before, we got a pin code in the mail for the kids stay, play and dine for free. I called Disney to get some quotes on different hotels. I really wanted to stay at a mod, but it wasn't in the cards for us this time. So...here's where we'll be!

Dates and location: We're staying at Pop Century from June 24th (my 27th birhday!) until June 28th. We've never stayed here before and it's my DH and DD's first time staying on property. How cool! We are staying in a preferred room because that's all they had left. Hey, I'm not going to argue with that! I've requested a higher floor and a room by the pool. Noise really doesn't bother us.

Other stuff:
#1 We'll be renting a car on the 28th and driving up to northern Florida. My DH's mom, stepfather, two brothers and sister live in Carrabelle, FL (it's on the gulf and very rural). We'll be staying until the 30th when we will then drive to Jacksonville to fly home.

#2 This is our first time on the DDP and I'm super duper excited! However, making ADR's for this trip was a nightmare! You see, we didn't book our trip at the 90 day mark. We booked around the 60 day mark. Of course, I wanted to eat at the most popular places (LeCellier, CM, CP....) and they're all booked. So, we have to settle for our 2nd or 3rd choices, but I plan to keep calling to see if there are cancellations. I'll get more into our ADR's a bit later.

Hmm...is there anything else to mention? Why of course! I need to share with you the phenomenal airfare we got!!!! In case you didn't already know, we're JetBlue fanatics. My DH was the only one who had flown JB before, but he turned me and our DD into huge fans. Those tv's are lifesavers for me! You see, I don't like to fly AT ALL! But....being able to watch tv at take-off and landing was a big deal for me. I can't stand having to wait to pull out my ipod until that certain altitude. Our DD especially loved the LiveMap. You can actually see where your plane is at at that exact moment! Awesome! Ok, back on track now. (Sorry, I like to ramble on and on) So, we were looking at airfare and noticed JB had a direct flight at 7am on my bday for $89. That's a great price! We didn't book it right away because we still had to book our vaca pkg. The next day after I booked, I went onto the JB website and couldn't believe my eyes. That flight had dropped to $59!!!! We hopped right on it and booked our tickets. Also, the flight back home (with a stop at JFK) is only $84. Fantastic! I was already excited about the trip, but the airfare was icing on the (birthday) cake.

Well, that's all I have to report on right now. Time to eat some dinner and update our count up calendar (more on that later too!). Thanks for reading!

We LOVED the great snacks they served. Maddie and I especially loved the Doritos Munchies mix. Yum! There is so much leg room even in the regular seats. I can't imagine how much leg room you get if you pay for the "even more leg room"!

JetBlue has tv's at every seat! They have (I think) 36 channels of DirecTv and a TON of music channels on XM radio. You're never bored!

Quick little update:

I just reserved a car for our trip. We got what I think is a great deal through Hertz (I love my AAA!). I had no idea Hertz has free pick-up available at some of their locations. I really didn't know how we were going to pick up a rental car! So, I believe we've made all the reservations that we need for our trip.
