DH has "met" a gentleman in Nassau through work. He told him how much we enjoyed Paradise Island last year and loved the Tortuga Rum cakes and couldn't wait till November so we could buy more when we are in the Grand Cayman's. That was about 2 weeks ago..

Today doorbell rings and it's Fed Ex with two boxes, inside were 4 Tortuga Rum Cakes... YUMMMMM. Plain, Chocolate, Pineapple and coconut. I made John put all but one in the freezer.. these have to last after all. :)

You can get them here in the States, just do a search for them and all kinds of things pop up.

Oh what a fun surprise! Last year when we went to the Bahamas I bought extra rum cakes for gifts. On the way home I remembered my sister is allergic to rum--sucks to be her--yippie I got to have another cake!

Oh I know we can order them but we usually never order something like that cause it makes it more special when we go there again.. These are special to us because he took the time to send them and because he went to the Tortuga store in Nassau and bought them..

Isn't that kind of like saying "don't think about pink elephants"? Because of course I couldn't help myself looking at the thread, even though I am missing them terribly as the one we got in March is long gone.

What a nice guy to have done that for you. Surprises like that are some of the best things in life. Enjoy! (And if you have any left over, feel free to PM for my address. :rotfl:)

I picked up 3 of the original last week. I had every intention of giving them away to family. And here they still sit :rolleyes1

Yea, what she said, LOL! I too can't wait to get more rum cakes next year when we are in Nassau. I only got TWO last time in Grand Cayman - big mistake. Next time I am stocking up. Hmmm...better start a "RUM CAKE FUND"

What a great surprise for you! Think about all of us as you bite into that moist bit of heaven. Hey if this guy needs another "friend" just let me know. ;)
