Yep, that's right. I am taking 5 kids to WDW by myself. Why you ask? Well some people have to climb Mt Everest, or swim the English Chanel, or make a million dollars to prove who they are. I have to conquer the world with all 5 kids by myself just to prove I can.

Here we are last year:

But first a little backstory of this trip. Originally we had planned on going in June just after school let out. But then we were blessed by DH losing his job. That's right we were blessed. He wasn't happy where he was. He didn't like the atmosphere, some of the people, and didn't even like some of the type work he was doing. When he lost his job he was devestated yet relieved at the same time. In fact he almost quit his job earlier that week but was able to cool off and decided to stick it out. In the meanwhile we were praying for a sign regarding which path to choose. He wasn't happy yet I don't make enough for him to just quit. When we prayed for a sign we specifically requested a billboard sign because sometimes we just don't see the little ones.

Well be careful what you pray for because our billboard was read the very next day when he was let go. However, they did give him 5 weeks of pay which was sufficient to hold us over until he found another job. However, during this time we decided to cut back to our bare necessities just in case. Unfortunately that meant cancelling our Disney reservation. We were using my timeshare and since the maintenance fees for the year had already been paid for our choices were to reschedule for sometime in 2009 or lose our week. I decided to rebook in October during the kids fall break. We went in October last year and I really wanted to do the MNSSHP again.

The 5 weeks of DH being unemployed flew by but he did get a job before the money ran out. Now this new job pays about the same, and is only a couple blocks from his old job. But the people are remarkable there. He really needed a different environment and that is why I call his job change a blessing.

So DH is rockin in his new job and asks me what I thought about going in June. I remind him that I've already booked us for October. "I know," he says, "but I really want to go now". Well who am I to argue with that because sooner is always better than later right? Yes, we will miss the Halloween party. But, Tau will turn 3 over the summer and will no longer be free in October. Plus the sooner we go, the sooner I can start planning our next trip, right?

So why am I going alone? Well here is the kicker. DH just started this new job and doesn't want to stir the pot so he decided to only take 2 days off. I tell him that we already paid for a week and there is NO WAY I am driving down to Orlando to stay 4 nights and Driving back home. We can't afford to fly all of us down. So I finally decide that I am going to drive all the kids down on Friday and stay until Wednesday. Then DH will fly down and join us Wed-the following Sunday.

Now if you are counting the days you will have noticed that is actually 9 nights. But I figure I deserve an extra 2 nights if I am going to be doing so much work. AMIRIGHT?

Are you still with me? If so, drop in to say Hi.

Meet the Characters
Me: I am a thirty something mother to 5. I work part time as an engineer in the Aerospace field. I am the children's worship ministry leader at our church, Den leader to Omicron's tiger cubs, Tball team mom to Omicron and Delta’s team, avid scrapbooker, family organizer and vacation planner, & karate class and cheernastics chauffer. I am very stubborn err determined. I have problems telling people no but at the same time I don’t take no for an answer either.

My husband, Zeta: An architect and artist. The only person I know that knew exactly what he wanted to be at 13 and never deviated from that. He is my high school sweetheart, my best friend, and my soul mate. He compliments and complements me. He is very laid back where I am anal retentive err not so much laid back.
101_1134-1.jpg

SIDE NOTE: I HAVE A PHOBIA OF INTERNET PREDATORS AND THEREFORE WILL PURPOSEFULLY PUT BLURRED, BLOCKED, OR OTHERWISE OUTDATED PHOTOS OF MY CHILDREN UP HERE. END OF SIDE NOTE.

Alpha: The eldest. Very competitive, compassionate, and caring. Favorite ride is expedition everest though he wants to try the RNRC this time. Loves Star Wars storm troopers. He is a blue senior belt in Tae Kwon Do and helped his football team win regional champs last year.
100_2485.jpg

Princess Chi: The only girl and it shows. Her favorite ride is the RNRC. She is my shopping buddy. She loves helping take care of baby Tau and sometimes thinks she is his other mother. She is a brown belt in karate, a cheerleader, and is OCD like her mom when it comes to making lists. She wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up. Meet princess Chi.
101_2616-1.jpg

Omicron: He’s my fish that swims in the opposite direction. He often waits to see what everyone else is doing before he decides he wants to do the exact opposite. He doesn’t have to be right; he just has to be different. His drawings are all abstract because he doesn’t want to put the eyes and mouth where everyone else put theirs. He’s very smart, creative, and funny. Meet Omicron.
101_2667-1.jpg

Delta: His favorite ride is Kali River Rapids. He sits out most coasters and simulation rides. Delta smiles all the time and lives without any cares or worries. He’s our happy go lucky child. Meet Delta

Tau: The baby. He’s spoiled what else can I say? Here he is with his all spoiled self.

Also other persons that may join us for a day or two include:
Mel, Sun, & Jen. We all went to high school together. Mel lives in Ohio now. Married with two kids but they won’t be joining us this trip (sorry girls :( ). She is even more of a planner than me. See picture below front right.

Sun lives in Mobile. Sun flies by the seat of her pants and never commits to anything because that would mean not being spontaneous. See picture below front left.

Jen lives in St. Pete/Tampa and therefore has the shortest drive. She claims she never wants to marry and never wants to have children yet she spoils mine? :confused3 See picture below back left.

We have very little in common but when we get together we have a blast. Our last girls weekend was when I was pregnant with Tau. Here we all are with Omicron, Chi, and Mel’s oldest, Maya.

We also have other friends who are going to be in the World the same week and we are doing a few meals and a few rides together. They are Cheryl, Nathan, and their children Sam, Pete, and Claire. Sorry I don’t have a picture so just use the picture of the family that came with your last frame ;)

So there you have it. The cast of our little crazy story.
