Shopaholic, Workaholic & Bargain Betty Take On WDW A DM/DD TR-Last Day!

subbing! i love that you guys are doing a tag team effort for the trip report! :) if I could get my mom to learn how to use a computer she might enjoy it too..haha!

If you can, try to check out the pirate tutorial by pirates! There's a few Jack Sparrows that are just FABULOUS! :) It's always one of the first things I check out every day.

How was the surf lesson that you did on your previous trip? I've always heard about it and it seems awesome!

We have done the Pirate tutorial and I loved it!

We showed up a little late and my dad had been talking to a CM about how excited I was to see Captain Jack and when I walked over a Dream CM moved me to the front row in front of the people who had been waiting I ended up getting the certificate and our Jack Sparrow was gorgeous

I might get tarred and feathered for this but he was definitely better looking than Johnny Dep :rotfl:

I also go to meet Jack Sparrow when we went to the Pirate and Princess party. It was amazing and the CM said she had never seen anyone as excited as I was :lmao:

The surf lesson is awesome and definitely two big :thumbsup2

I have always wanted to learn how to surf and in Michigan there really isn't a way to learn how to unless you want to surf in freezing water :sad2:

Anywho I really liked the teachers and although it is a lot harder than it looks I could stand on the board for a few seconds before falling off at the end :rotfl:

If you ever had any interest in surfing I would suggest doing it because this way the waves are controlled by a machine (there is one big wave and one little wave) and with the temperature controlled water it gives you a nice landing spot after you fall off haha

Just a little tip
Bring someone to carry your board for you because that thing gets heavy after a few trips out :rotfl:

Hi there and welcome:flower3:! Glad you joined us! We love Jack Sparrow too! The one at the Pirate/Princess Party was absolutely gorgeous and totally in character! Caitlin was positively giddy after we met him last year! We walked out and she said her trip was complete and we could go home. It was our second night!:lmao:We decided since we were there we might as well finish the vacation.:rotfl: Afterall we still had grad nite and the surf lesson. We will be sure to stop by and see him and we'll give him your regards;)

So when we get back from our trip I have decided to do my own dining report :cool1:

I am actually really excited about doing one which lets me know how much of a DISdork I am :lmao:

So I thought I would ask here what kind of snacks at WDW do I have to try?

I know the basics:
Schoolbread
Tinkerbell slushie
Dole Whip

updated list with the new items I was reminded about
Goofy's Candy Co. candy bag
Make your own rice krispie treat
Popcorn
Funnel Cake
Shaved ice from Japan
Turkey leg
mickey ice cream sandwich
churro
hot dog
stuffed soft pretzel
frozen soda slushies
kitchen sink

But are there any others that are cannot be missed worthy?

I would really appreciate the help!

:)

That's so exciting that your gonna do a dinning report when you get back

Only snacks I could think of would be the pretzel rods, rice krispie treats , marshmallows etc. from Goofy's Candy Company . I myself like the traditional the popcorn and a funnel cake from Liberty Square, those are two snacks I never go without getting when I'm at WDW :)

um...the Mickey ice cream sandwiches are my all time favorite. I dunno why! haha! a churro in mexico, shaved ice in japan, big pretzel or bratwurst in germany, turkey leg anywhere on property...

i'll see if i can think of any more!

I know I am sooo excited to write one!

I cannot believe I forgot Goofy's candy company!!

I plan on making a huuuuuggee bag of candy when we visit there!!

I am not a big pretzel rod fan but I'm definitely going to make a make your own rice krispie treat! Thanks for reminding me!

Yeah my mom is a huge disney popcorn fan so definitely on our must list

The new addition will be the funnel cake I think we tried one a couple years ago but we haven't had one since

Geez I am up for some calorie loading at disney :woohoo:

Oh geez more food :rotfl:

I plan on getting nachos in Mexico so I will definitely get the churro with them!

About the shaved ice: do you reccomend a flavor? I have read about them in other dining reports but I heard they have like melon or something so I am not sure about what's good or not :confused3

We will be eating in germany for lunch so I will be able to try both of them :woohoo:

And o man that would be some pretty funny pictures of me eating a turkey leg they look about the size of my head :rotfl:

Thank you both so much for the help!!!!:flower3:

I never done Goofy's Candy Company before , actually didn't realize you could make your own candy there until I joined the Disboards:laughing:. I'm def gonna do it this year too !

Aww a lady after my own heart  There is just something about WDW popcorn that makes it better than all the rest

Funnel Cakes are great they have them at Epcot too but I don't like those as well as the ones from MK place is called Sleepy Hollow by the way . I always walk down there while were waiting for Spectromagic usually and get them and we eat them while we wait , the lines can be crazy :crazy2: sometimes though .

For some other snacks how about
Hot Dog (Casey's Corner)
Stuffed Soft Pretzel (DHS Min & Bill's Dockside Diner )
Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich (MK MainStreet Bakery)
Frozen Soda Slushies (MK Lunching Pad At Rockettower Plaza)
Lapu Lapu (Drink in a Pineapple from the Poly )
Kitchen Sink ( BC Beaches & Cream)

Yeah I think it's the Mickey Mouse bucket it comes in ::rotfl:

Thanks for the tip :goodvibes

We will definitely being doing Casey's my mom can't go on vacation to wdw now without going there

I have heard a lot about the stuffed soft pretzel I thought it sounded kind of gross at first but now I have a feeling I will just have to try it

I have tried the cookie sandwich before and I wasn't a big fan :guilty: when my dad and I got them the cookies were really hard :sad1:

I will be adding the frozen soda slushies coke slushies are the only kind I can get my mom to drink

I will definitely have my dad try the Lapu Lapu I unfourtunatly have a couple years before I will be able to drink my way around the world

And definitely yes to the Kitchen Sink my dad saw it on a trip report I was reading and he wouldn't stop talking about how good it looked and how sure he was that he and I could eat a whole one :rotfl2:

Yeah I think your right it must be the Mickey Mouse bucket that makes it super good :rotfl2:

I can't not go to MK either without getting my Casey's fix  Your mom & I sound more alike by the minute

I've never had the Ice Cream Cookie sandwich either but everyone on here always raved about it , now that you told me the cookies are hard I won't be putting that on my list

As far as I know you could get Lapu Lapu they do them minus the alcohol also , so both you and your Dad could enjoy one :thumbsup2

You have good taste in snacks! :rotfl: I love the popcorn and hotdogs at WDW! They taste better there than anywhere else! I am convinced that at my first visit, when I was 6, we must have eaten hotdogs and popcorn because it's impossible for me to visit and not eat those things! The MK had just opened,we went in '72, so they probably didn't have a lot of dining choices so maybe thats all there was to eat? Whatever the reason, I love those things! My other favorite, more recently acquired, is the chocolate dipped Mickey rice krispie treat! We have a tradition that we buy those on our last day and eat them on the ME while we watch the "See Ya Real Soon" movie. :goodvibes

Haha yeah I am easily amused :lmao:

I am soo excited for you only one week left!!!!!!

I know I'm excited for me tooo :rotfl2:

Thanks , according to your daughter we have very similar taste in foods  I know I can't go without getting the hot dog and popcorn. I like very basic foods though and things that are down home , so you won't see me eating at anything at WDW that's fancy or has a weird name I can't pronounce :lmao: I haven't tried the rice krispie treat yet but it sounds very good , think I will have to put it on my list of things to try .

I am not an adventurous eater either so I can guarantee the Rice Krispie treat won't disappoint!!;)

So here we are at TWO WEEKS TIL WE'RE BACK AT WDW!!!:woohoo: Today DH and I took a little drive out to the Disney Store. I had read that for Earth Day they were giving away a "suprise" if you took in 3 plastic bottles. We took 3 each and we were each given a cute green Mickey water bottle. A very appropriate color for all us Dis-sers!! We also picked up more of the reusable shopping bags. I got the Earth Day one and a Hannah one that will be cute to send one of the "Big Give" kids. :goodvibes They had 25% off clearance:yay: so you know Bargain Betty forced herself to pick up a few clearance things too! :lmao: I think I have picked up everything we need for our trip, except sun block, and we are all packed. Now we just have to wait for the next 2 weeks to pass:rolleyes1

Then it's set the Rice Krispie is a must do :thumbsup2

How exciting for you also only two weeks :dance3: It seems like once it gets down to the 2 and 1 week marks it goes the slowest for me though , could it get here already :lmao: Sounds like you and the DH scored with some great purchases from the Disney Store today :thumbsup2 I miss the Disney Store soo much we use to have one in Maryland but it closed down last year and then we moved to North Carolina last May for the DH 's job and there is not one around here unless we would drive about 3 hours which is out of the question:( I love to shop and will drive about an hour for a specific store but once you add more than that it's kinda a waste. I'm also not a good online shopper so I very rarely do Disney shopping online either . LOL

13 days!!!:tigger:Final preparations are now gearing up at our house and the excitment is building! To get us in the "Disney mood" (not that we really need help) we have started our Disney Film Festival. As our schedules allow we're sitting down in the evenings and watching our favorite Disney flicks. So far we've found time to catch Wall-E and the original Toy Story. Toy Story is DH favorite Disney movie and he looks like a little kid when he watches it. It's so cute! It had been several years since we'd seen it and it really is a fun movie and so creative. Wall-E has such a great environmental message it was a perfect choice for Earth Week. We enjoyed them both and look forward to watching more classics!:tinker: I think the Tink movie is going to be up next. This morning I have been working on our room window decorations. We picked up some Fab 5 window clings so this morning I found disigns with each of our names and laminated them and put magnets on the back to decorate our door. I like decorating the windows & doors because it makes the room more festive and after a long day at the parks it makes it much easier to find your room!

Awww family Disney movie nights are such much fun to do , we've been doing this also to get ready for the trip and also watched Wall.E . It was the 1st time I watched it . Found it pretty good but I just don't think the movies now are as good as the ones from the 90's and before IMO.

Sounds like you guys will have lots of decorations for your room door and window:thumbsup2 I bought some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse window clings at the dollar store for our room window . This will be the 1st time we do this year also , thanks to the disboards , or I would have never know

Anyway great update and 13 days that must be sooo exciting :yay:

I agree that the current films just don't compare to the older ones. In the late 80's/early90's they had Aladdin, Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. In Walt's day they had Snow White,Cinderella, Peter Pan etc. Those are all classics! IMO the new releases like Bolt or Cars while cute they just don't compare. Your kids will enjoy having their window decorated. It adds to the magic:wizard: Your 6 days is much more exciting then our 13!
