Ok, I'm back......tonight my DH won over $3000 at the Atlantic City casinos!! Crazy!
Our arrival day in St. Thomas was uneventful........nonstop flight, free coconut rum shot as we entered the terminal (definitely the highlight!).......taxi ride thru town, and check in, lunch, pool time, and dinner....
Our second day we decided to go to St John to visit beaches by taking the taxi to Red Hook, we learned it was a 20 minute taxi ride; a 20 minute ferry ride and a 15 minute taxi ride once we arrived in Cruz Bay, St. John. We decided to visit Cinnamon Bay instead of Trunk Bay b/c CB is free, I think TB is $4 per person to visit. This was the only day it was breezy but both of us did swim and snorkel. When we arrived back in Cruz Bay we did a little shopping and ate at Margarita Phils which was fun but very quiet. At this point we decided to book an excursion to BVI. We obtained a motorboat ressie for a few days from then and we took the ferry and taxi back to our hotel. On our way back we were able to book a catarmaran sail trip to St. John and Jost Van D*** for the following day.
The next day we repeated our taxi/ferry run and were onboard the Calypso by 8:30am. First, we sailed and snorkeled off the coast of St. John, then we hit immigration in Great Bay, JVD, before anchoring and having lunch at White Bay Beach the home of the Soggy Dollar Bar and the Painkiller Drink. The nice thing about this beach was that we could use the chairs and relax wilth little hassle. We also swam and shopped in a very little shop. There was a great bar and small restaurant but the food was pretty good. Finally, we sailed back to St. John.....it was an amazing relaxing day for sure!!
The next day we went into St. Thomas to go shopping. We noticed that there is a decent sized fancy shopping area where the cruise ships disembark. We went to the center of town to a different shopping area and walked up and down looking in souvenir, jewelry, art galleries and clothing shops. Then we ate lunch in one of the open air restaurants. There were a few guys walking around the shopping area, trying to get us to do a tour of St. Thomas or go to Magens Bay. It didn't seem hard at all to do it this way.
Finally, we set off on our next boat ride on the Bad Kitty to various ports in BVi.....we went to Spanishtown for immigration; the Baths of Virgin Gorda, where we swam in; hiked the Baths and swam back out; next, we ate lunch at Cooper Island (which was nice) and then snorkeled at the Indians which was pretty cool. Lastly, we headed back to Cruz Bay.........
