Where would you live in CA?

I don't want to hijack the other thread with the hypothetical......but if you had all the money in the world where would you chose to live in CA?

I would go with a nice estate in Montecito.

A mansion with an apartment for all my needy friends. Calvin would have his own house and I would bulldoze 100 acres of Norwalk and build me a mansion. I love my little town. If not here then Orlando or Story Indiana.

I have never found a place I loved enough to desire to live at.

I been thinking and I do love the coast very much. Not sure where but away from people not like Long Beach. over 30 years ago we went up to San Simeon then along the coast all the way to near the Oregon Border. I loved Cambria area and vaguely remember Moterrey. So many lovely towns along there. That would be so pretty to sit on a hill looking down on the beaches and fiery sunsets.

I'd stay in Sonoma County. Just in a bigger house. :) Of course, if money was no object, I'd have to have a vacation home or condo near DLR. :lovestruc

I like where I live now (believe it or not), but when we went up north I fell in love with Monterey. It is so pretty there, and the neighborhoods were so nice.

However, having said that, my love is Yosemite, so I'd want to live there. :)

Oh man...choices choices. I'd have to go with a beautiful home in Valley Springs, it's gorgeous there and surrounded by lakes. :) We'd have a nice huge home built by my ex's Uncle (he's a contractor) using the existing landscape as much as possible, no way could I bulldoze a bunch of land to build my own home. I'd also have a vacation home that I rented out or gave to friends/family to use when I wasn't there, actually I'd have 2. One in the Monterey area and one in So Cal. No clue where but I'd have one somewhere close to DL! LOL And I'd have one in Hawaii and one in Idaho so I could visit my family and not worry about where to stay. LOL

You wouldn't have any money if you lived here... Sales, property, income taxes are amongst the highest in the country...
Florida is where its at...

No way.....FL is really expensive too and they have that horrible horrible humidity. I get migraines way too easy when I go to FL!

I grew up in Northern Cal, and while I have fond memories of it, everything has changed and grown so much that it isn't the same. I do miss the warm (HOT) summers, but I now prefer to visit and then come back to my mild Oregon Coastal temperatures.....

However, in the spirit of the game, if I magically were granted a home in Cali it would have to be somewhere around the Fresno area, because I have family there and it would be awesome to see them often. Plus, they are only about four or so hours from DL! :cool1:

San Francisco, the Marina District - in one of those big, fancy houses. :lovestruc

I've only personally seen SoCal so until I get out there and see the North part this summer I will go with .....

Coronado Island in San Diego.

I would want to live in Santa Barbara. I'm going to be living there beginning July 2nd (nanny for a family living in the Hope Ranch area)!

cool hypothetically we would be neighbors....but you get to be there in reality! I just love SB.

Anahiem in one of the front row homes where I could see the fireworks everynight. Or a Condo high enough up I could look down on the fireworks and Fantazmic

Well I would LOVE to live close enough to go to Disneyland as much as possible but I would also love to live somewhere really gorgeous like with the ocean and the redwoods or moutains like along the coast around Big Sur or something so it is a tough choice. I have lived in CA all my life and there are a lot of beautiful spots along the coast. Probably somewhere near the ocean where I would not be TOO far from Disney. No longer than an hour drive in a GREAT big beautiful mansion on a hill! I can dream! :)

If I could do anything I'd live somewhere with an ocean view, have a cook, a maid, and a driver...esp a driver. S/he would drive us to DLR and pick us up so we wouldn't have to stress over traffic, parking, and walking to a hotel.
