About Us-

I currently work as a marketing coordinator, and DF teaches at a local college. We are both from MA, but met in FL, and now live in MN! We have a love for all things Disney. I was even a CM for a short period of time. We’ve been together for not quite five years, and started planning last fall.

There was really no contest when it came to deciding on having a Disney wedding. We did however agonize on what type of wedding to have. We looked at all options possible including DFTW, Swan and Dolphin, Buena Vista Palace and elsewhere. For us an Escape wedding was immediately out due to the guest count. Swan and Dolphin seemed to be a mixed bag. So, we set a date for a Wishes wedding. However, the economy put a kibosh on that. DCL did just feel right, in that we really wanted a casual and intimate ceremony to begin with, and we could invite everyone we wanted. So here we are!

Our families have all been to WDW more than a dozen times. But none of our family or friends has ever been on a Disney cruise (and neither have we!!) So, it will really be a fun time for all. We’re also really excited to have it near Christmas when all of the holiday decorations will be up. I really believe there is an extra bit of “magic”! :santa:

YAY! I'm glad you started a PJ, I love reading about the DCL weddings. I would love to get married there, but one of my biggest priorities was having ALL of my family on my big day, and I knew that wasn't possible on a cruise.

I can't wait to read more!!!!

Ok, it's time for me to fess up... I've been an Ebay madam.. :rotfl: I've purchased several dresses for rock bottom prices. I've been getting A LOT of flack for it too! (Hey, I'm being thrifty!) :)

Well, I think this dress is going to make it to the final cut-

I don't want any heel-sand misadventures, so I've purchased these sandals-

And these for the Palo reception and photos-

I haven't figured out how I'm going to work the red into the pink and green scheme, but I'm creative! ;)

Sounds great! I think a cruise sounds like a great idea.... I considered one, but DF wouldn't have it...he's super afraid of shark. Yes, he's convinced they can get him on the boat. :lmao:

Looking forward to reading more!

Oh, that dress is very pretty. Love the sandals for the beach, very cute. I here you on saving money. I got my dress off of Craig's List and saved about 500 dollars! There is nothing wrong with that at all!

Congratulations! The dress is very christmasy I am sure it will be perfect! We have always had a great time on the cruise - especially around xmas time.

I LOVE the dress (and shoes!)! It will be so beautiful on the cruise! Your plans sound great so far! We were married on christmas eve, and for our VR I'm doing a red dress with flip flops- lots in common, eh!

Sweet deal! I saved about $500 on this dress as well!

I just read your PJ, my oh my we do have lots in common!! DF is also of Scottish decent, but I doubt he'll being going for the kilt. I love offbeat bride as well, and did I mention your swimsuit is fantastic?!

Congrats on DVC!!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Your dress is beautiful. Can't wait to hear more.:goodvibes

Thank you! :)

Sounds good! I love the colors and the theme. What about poinsettias - they come in pink and red - and have green leaves - or hibiscus?

I got my dress on ebay for under $50 rather than pay $400 to David's Bridals. ;)

I actually had my BM's flower wands made by a seller on Etsy, and they came out super cute. I'll post that soon. Great deal on your dress!

My two bridesmaids will be my sisters, ages 25, and 13. I decided I wanted flower wands, rather than traditional bouquets. I ran it by them, and they loved the idea. I also asked if they wanted real or silk flowers. Both wanted silk to have as a keepsake. I did a google image search looking for inspiration and came across a seller on Etsy who does beautiful work.

BelovedChild was too sweet to work with. She was also more reasonable in price than Disney.

Here are our wands-

I just love them!

Speaking of bridesmaids, I also ordered headbands from Ebay. I have my wedding pair, and two pairs I'm calling "bridesmaid princess" headbands-

I think they'll be great to walk around the ship with. :)

Those wands are very pretty! I think you just convinced me to do the same with my bridesmaids!

Congratulations!! You're wedding is right before my vow renewal!! how exciting!!

Love your dress and the flower wands are so beautiful! What dress will the gilrs be wearing? DD is going to have a flower wand too, but i think i'm just going to go with the $25 one from Disney Floral. easier that way.

YAY for DCL brides! My friend's wearing that exact same dress for her wedding next year and it's gorgeous!! And I agree with an above poster - it'll look great with all the Christmas decorations.

Hmmm...you got me thinking that I want heels for the Palo part! Good excuse to shop. ;-)

I know I think I'm right between you and CinderelliT! We'll have to have some sort of bridal baton to pass between us!!! :lmao:

I'm letting the sis's pick out their own dresses. My only stipulation is that they wear the same color, and from the same manufacturer. I think it will be some time before the dresses are picked, as my (25yr old) sis is 6 months preggers!

Cute flower wands!!

Thanks!

Yay for another DCL bride!!!:dance3:
Your ideas are great so far! And I am a huge Ebayer too. I live out in the sticks, plus I love being thrifty.

Those flower wands are super cute. They look better than the one I made for my DD. Hmmm...I might have to get another one. LOL!:rotfl: The curse of the DIS.

I love the dress. I hope you get it soon. And pink and red go great together!

Thanks!!! As I said before, I think your VR is on the sailing right before mine! We'll have to high-five each other in the parking lot! :rotfl:

I actually have the dress now, but it needs some alterations before I post any pics.

I am far to familar with the curse of the DIS! :)
