Disney bus trip to Paris

Has anyone been on the bus trip to Paris that leaves from Hotel NY.
I know it's expensive but is it any good? Any reviews past or present would be appreciated.
Also can you book it in advance?

i havent heard a whole lot but what i have heard is that is expensive for what it is. most of it is on the bus and you dont really get a feel for paris. if you are able to go on the train its much cheaper and you are free to explore as you choose

You can book it in advance, either as adding it onto your holiday in which case you would pay in £ rather than € or through your hotel concierge when you arrive.

We looked into doing the tour a few years ago but decided against it and just caught the train in ourselves ~ very easy to do.

There were some reviews, I did have the thread saved but it's on my laptop that's poorly and gone to hospital. I'm on my DDs' laptop now so I'll see if I can find the thread again.

I'm going off my memory here from last August when we did the Cityrama tour.
We left Hotel New York around 10am, first stop was a 20 minute stretch your legs at the back of the Eiffel Tower, not really any time to get to any shops. After a tour of the city we stopped again at the Eiffel Tower, were led through the queues to the lift to the first floor, we had 90 minutes at the Eiffel Tower which we thought was ages, but be prepared to queue if you want the toilet and we queued for ages to get the lift back down, we had to meet back at the River Seine for the boat trip so again because of queuing we were stuck for time to go and find a cafe (which my son really wanted to do). The boat trip was wonderful and after that finished it was back on the bus where we stopped for 50 minutes at the Louvre where we looked round the gardens and did look round some shops in here. At no point did we feel rushed it was a wonderful introduction to Paris and it's history and the four of us thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Any contacts for this? Sounds like it would simplify the 1-day visit into Paris, for some of us.

If you are staying in another hotel booked through Disney you can just phone the booking line and have it added to your package

If you are off site I think you would have to book it there - probably by going to the concierge at HNY and booking there.

When I enquired about this I was also staying off-site (Explorers) and was told to book it either through the Explorers concierge or direct through the Hotel New York concierge. So, there shouldn't be any problems booking it through the Hotel New York, it may even be possible to do it in advance by telephone.

We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel in March and did the Cityrama bus tour (booked at DLH concierge.) I think it was too expensive for what it was - if I wasn't so lazy I would write a letter of complaint to Cityrama.

So...we left from HNY...and spent the next two and half hours sitting on the bus as we drove around the city. It's not open top or anything, so if you don't get the front seat (we didn't) your view is really, really limited. 1st actual stop was about 12pm - we got a 90 minute break at the Louvre. Just long enough to buy a ticket, find the Mona Lisa and get out. Then we got back on the bus and drove over to the Eiffel Tower area and did the Seine River Cruise. Some of the speakers for narration work and some don't, but it's lovely all the same - and it's a bit like a cruise ship, they have photographers take multiple pictures of you so you can buy them afterward. Next was the Eiffel Tower - I think we had about an hour there...the trip includes a ticket to take you to the first level. You're on your own for anything else...but leave yourself at least 15 minutes to queue for the elevator and get back to the bus!

I absolutely would not do it again. It would be a MUCH better value to take the train into the city, do the (I think it's called) Paris Visite card - do the open top bus tours that you can hop on and off. Tickets for a river cruise or the 1st level of the Eiffel Tower aren't hard to get... We got to see a lot of Paris, but didn't get a sense or a feel for it and that was very disappointing. Also, notice I didn't say anything about eating..? If I'd left enough time, there's a crepe stand between the Eiffel Tower and the parking lot. Didn't even get to have Paris street food! Shame that...

Also, if there are enough reservations, they'll split up the tour buses by language. I think we had 4 leave at once that day.

I also would recommend the night tour they offer. The bus is MUCH nicer (not open top, but a clear strip in the roof) and they get you to the tower in time to see the twinkly lights...

The day tour was 65 Euro in May 2008. Whne we went in May we drove by The Louvre but didn't go in. We did the River Cruise & the Eiffel Tower also.
