What's the most embarrassing thing that happened to you at your resort?

I was just reminiscing about our recent trip to the Grand Floridian and how I completely embarrassed myself while there!

I ordered a white russian from the bar in the main lobby of the GF to take to the pool. After I paid, I turned around, bumped into one of the chairs, stumbled forward and spilled the entire drink on the carpet (ice and all!) just as someone was walking toward me!:scared1: 2 guys at the bar laughed and the bartender smiled and then handed me a stack of towels to clean it up!!! I don't think I can ever show my face again there! :sad2:

Anyone else done something embarrassing at your resort? :goodvibes

LOL. I took a literal kaniption fit (if that is a word) in the lobby of the BC. With good reason or so I thought at the time. But I imagine the CM's were talking about me.:rotfl: After recieving my 3rd room that was either dirty or not what I paid for (smoking back in the day I when I smoked with a water view) I guess to shut me up they upgraded me to CL. Seriously though. One with a dirty bathroom (poo on the floor), the second one with a wet rug (sopping wet it squished) then the third with a garden view and non smoking. I flipped out after that. I must have looked nutso.

I can't believe I'm going tell this publicly. ;)

On our first trip in 1981, we stayed at the Contemporary...our first ngt there we ate in the then Terrace Bufeteria, seated in a booth...just as I was sliding out of the booth, the monorail glided through...I looked up to see it and slid right off the seat, landing on the floor!! Got up as quickly as I went down....but my 7 and 9 yrs olds looked like they were about to burst! :rotfl:

Yet again, can't believe I'm admitting this either in public...

On our last trip - we stayed at CSR (HATED it btw). Well, every night we would draw the shades, and every morning mousekeeping would open them. One night we sorta forgot to draw the shades and.... er.... well.... needless to say we realized a little too late that they were open and chances are really good that someone got a nice little show :rolleyes1

Unless you were stumbling around drunk...that seems like really poor customer service to hand you towels to clean it up...you are paying A LOT to stay at GF and accidents happen...

I have had spills at Kroger, Wal-Mart, restaurants...and they always clean it up (even if I offer to help!!).

Don't you just love a little Disney magic!

Although we were'nt staying at the BC we were eating dinner at the Cape May Cafe, my ds who is autistic had a complete melt down he screamed so loud the whole restaurant heard him, I never paid a bill and got out of a restaurant so fast. Linda :)

Our first trip ever to DW, we arrived in the lobby of the Poly and were next in line to check in and dd-6 at the time puked all over the floor. :scared1:

There were tons of people in the check in line and the conceirge line just staring at us and I am sure so grossed out (Lord knows I was). I was in tears as CM's came running out to get it cleaned up ASAP.

The nice thing was this Mom came up to me and offered her two boys that were being terrors in exchange for my sick kid! I totally lightened up after my encounter with her. :lovestruc

LOL, I wasn't drunk, the drink was actually for my DH who was with the kids at the pool!:lmao: I didn't clean it up either. When she gave me all the towels, I just looked at her like, are you kidding me?? So, I used the tiny bit of dignity I had left to wipe off my legs and sat back down to wait for my refill! A cleaning lady was summoned and she took care of it but not before she asked what happened while I was sitting right there!! Believe me, the whole thing was just mortifying. :sad2:

I was having dinner with my wife and I at Disneyland Hotel in CA and eating at Grannsviews Steak house, (now 55 steakhouse) well this kid threw up right in front of our table while we were eating, we just got the food maybe two mins early. So I saw the waiter and just said "Check Please". because my wife and I lost our taste for food. Well we get up and walk away, and the dad of the kid says in a british voice " IT's just a little through up Mate". I told him "thats cools just not at dinner", he says "piss off" and then my wife threw water on him because some other choice words we said, and they asked that guy to leave and we didnt have to pay. But everyone was looking at us it was bad.

So I have shared this story before but it's a great one to repeat!!! Here's the background....I had TERRIBLE issues with the phone ressie folks and wrote a complaint letter to WDW headquarters.....I got a call from them saying that they would send somthing "special" to our room while we were there!

So now we are at the resort and spent the whole day at MK. Upon coming back to the resort there was a message from the front desk saying they had something for us and to come down. So I sent my husband and decided to take a shower. I got out of the shower and sat in the room in a towel. I decided to call the ressie folks to inquire about the bounceback that was in our room and get pricing. While on the phone with a young lady talking about Port Orleans there was a knock at the door...I say "USE your key" (thinking it was my hubby)....another knock....again I SCREAM "USE your KEY"....the lady says "Oh put me on hold and get the door". I go to the door in my little bitty hotel towel and ONLY my towel...I open the door but don't look out again thinking it's my husband and from behind the open door I hear a voice say "I have something for you from the front desk!" :scared1: OMG!!!!! I'm naked in a towel....oh and I'm not a small girl. I actually blurted out, "I"m naked...I just got out of the shower!" Poor guy spent the next 2 minutes of his life staring at the ceiling while I tried to sign the paper he was giving me!

I felt so bad and embarrassed!!! But hey he brought me a $200 gift card! So that was nice! The lady on the phone said "Oh I"m sure he's seen worse!" :lmao:

So there you go!

our youngest DD was 2 - we were there for her birthday and she came down with a stomach bug that lasted almost the entire trip. You know how men are ;) every morning my DH would say "She looks a little better today - we'll take her to a park" when in actuality she looked like a wet dishcloth that had been wrung out and my mom and I wanted to stay back in the room with her. Anyway, we had a reservation for the luau at the Poly and while going thru the lobby she started upchucking. As if that wasn't bad enough, DH, who was carrying her at the time, could tell it was coming, so leaned her over the lush tropical plants so as not to make a mess on the floor,(so he says):confused3. My mom and I couldn't believe he did that, and to this day when we are there we tease her that the striped plants are striped because of her. That same trip we ate at Cindy's Castle where, you guessed it, again she got sick. By then my wonderful mom had gotten used to having a plastic barf bag ready at a moment's notice. However, on that dining experience my mom left the bag on the seat when we left?!?!?!?!?OMG, what a tip! Needless to say we didn't return there for a few years, and I was never so glad to have a trip end as I was that year!!

Not sure about embarrassing but..well okay it was a tad bit..it was during my DD and I's first girls only trip!
DD and I were in AK all day. She begged to have her face painted in Africa soooo I got her face painted for her. Then she told me I should have my face painted as well... ok so the little child in me said "do it do it..." and well it was a girls only trip and we were bonding... so I get my entire face painted THEN realize I need to walk into the resort lobby!
So there I am walking into the GF lobby looking like a butterfly while there is a wedding party and many many formally dressed folks and this beautiful bride ... all staring at me when I walked in .... face fully painted :lmao:

I just put my head down and kept walking very quickly :rotfl2:

We were staying at AKL and I had taken the bus over to GF to buy several gingerbread cookies to take home to family and friends. I had walked around looking at the decorations and noticed an open elevator so I jumped in with a couple who were very dressed up and a CM with them. He punched in some buttons and I said "oh a secret code" and he just smiled, and when I got off of the elevator and looked back I noticed I had been on the concierge elevator!
