Got Back Today

Hi Everyone,

Well we got back in the early hours this morning. Had a wondefull time however never want to go back the press event weekend again. I will do a trip report but heres a quick over view of things:

We arrived Saturday but we didnt arrive until 5.15pm so didnt do the parks today. Instead we went for a drink at the Sports bar and waited until Billy Bobs was open for food. We loved the buffet there and was really pleased we choose this place to eat. We then got a taxi to the radisson as we couldnt find the free shuttle bus. I couldnt recommened this hotel highly enough. Its a lovely hotel and much better quality than a lot of the on site hotels.

Sunday well it was our 4 year anniversary so wanted it to be special but by 3pm we had had enough and went for a drink. We waited for the parade at 4pm watched that and then left the park to have a drink at sports bar again. The park was ust so busy, if it wasnt for th fast passes off ebay we wouldnt have been able to ride anything. To be honest we were left very disapointed. We both cheered up and had a wonderfull meal at the silver spur. After this we headed back the the hotel.

Monday was fantastic and everything I had hoped Sunday would be. The park was soooooo much quieter and the sun was shining. We rode everything we wanted to and headed to annettes for dinner before our train home at 7.40pm.

Glad you had a good time. We found Sunday very busy too, but better than at christmas. Friday and Saturday weren't bad at all, to my surprise.

Ive only ever been before in school holidays as ive not been for about 5 years and it was so much quieter in the school holidays than Sunday. I was thinking about going at Christmas but if its anything like Sunday then its a no no!

It is great for DLP that crowds have increased over the years. But as you discovered the mixed blessing is that weekends are very crowded.

Welcome back, glad you were able to make the most of Monday I think we all need to take a lesson away from this and avoid weekends, I think it's extremely unlikely I'll book another weekend trip, I don't think the crowd levels you experienced were particularly down to the press event, I think it's just weekends generally are busier.

I think we will stick to going mid week, which is a bit of a hassle. Im in University but doing nursing which means im actually in uni everyday more like school so cant really just take off mid week, but think thats what we will have to do in September.

I went the weekend before Christmas, and Sunday was a lot better than that. Although it was beautifully Christmassy, I won't go in December again. I went 4 times last year and I think it got steadily busier. It's still very doable though even when it's busy, you just have to plan more.
