I've got another one for you all. :flower3:

If we book a Castle Club room next time we go, can anyone tell me anything about the extra benefits you get.

The Disney site says it has a lounge for breakfast and soft drinks etc. Do you still have to book a time for breakfast or can you just go when you want. And are the soft drinks complementary.

Do you always get a view of the park from the bedroom windows or not.

Any other information anyone can give me will be much appreciated.

vivienne.

Hi viviennep. I can't answer all your questions, but I can answer some.

  1. Do you still have to book a time for breakfast or can you just go when you want - Breakfast is served in the Castle Club Lounge and you just go when you want, no need to book. The characters also pay a visit to the Castle Club before going to the general meet'n'greet in the Rotunda on the floor below.
  2. Are the soft drinks complementary - Yes. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, juice, coke, etc. and all free and available all day. The only drinks that you need to pay for are beer, wine, etc.
On top of this, they serve a complementary Afternoon Tea (cakes, pastries, little sandwiches, etc.) from about 4pm in the Castle Club Lounge, there is a private lift that takes you from the Castle Club directly to the entrance gates of Disneyland Park below, each person staying gets a VIP Fastpass (unlimited access to Fastpass queues) for the duration of their stay and you have access to a dedicated Reception/Concierge.

We stayed in the Castle Club over New Years just gone and can throughly recommend it. Also, the following link gives much more detail - http://www.haighgannon.com/castle_club_info/ - of the services and facilities and I think the person behind the website posts on this forum.

Just in case it's important, you don't need to book a time at all for breakfast in the DLH, even in a standard room. You also get 1 extra fastpass in a standard room. You have to pay extra for park views whether standard or castle club.

Your last comment is not 100% true. Yes you have to pay extra to get a Castle Club room with park view.
But as there are no standard rooms with a real park view you don't have to pay extra.
Only some Castle Club rooms and some suites have park view.

We got prices for castle club when we went in February but the difference between that and a normal room was massive. There was no way we would have eaten that amount of afternoon tea or free drinks

Sorry Marcus, you're right of course! :)

There are not many rooms with a park view in the CC, and the cost is approx 12% higher than other CC rooms.

Compared to a standard disney room, CC rooms are approx 25% more expensive but you get VIP fast pass which allows you repeat rides on fast pass attractions with no or minimal queuing. We saved around a day of queuing so can save a cost through not having to book that extra day to get in everything you want to do.

I have to agree with nobby. When the Park and Studios are really busy, the VIP Fastpass really is worth it for quick, unlimited (well almost) access to the Fastpass attractions. On our last day (2nd January, really busy in both the Park & Studios) we was able to ride Buzz, Big Thunder Mountain (twice), Indiana Jones, Peter Pan, Tower of Terror and Rock'n'Roller Coaster in less than 3 hours after lunch. :thumbsup2

If you are a BTM fan, you can do it 4-5 times in 30 minutes even with the standard queue being an hour...

I wish I had book a Castle Club this time too. I will definitely be booking it next time, just for the convenience. Mother is elderly and tires easily and also has diabetes, my son has cerebral palsy, me I'm just plain old fat, the lift directly down to the turnstyles would be really great we could go back to the hotel whenever my mother needed a rest. The lounge serving tea and coffee all day sounds good to me as we need very regular top ups!

Many thanks for everyones help.
