February Magical Family Adventures!!~ LAST DAY!! (6/5)

I love the banner you had for your ds school. I bet they looked forwarding to getting that email everyday:goodvibes

T Rex Looks awesome

I have heard it is quite loud in there. Did it seem to bother your son at all? Trying to see if might be too loud for my son. Sometimes loud noise bothers him. Not to the point of crying, but will hold his ears

The view from your room was gorgeous:goodvibes

It looks like you had a great day. I know I always tell you this but your ds is just so darn cute. I hope he had a wonderful birthday.

All caught up with your last two updates!!! Beautiful water view from your room -- only at Disney would I have been able to tear myself away from the balcony. The shrimp lo mein at the Yak and Yeti counter service looks really good -- I wish I could have some right now!

T-Rex Cafe looks ultra-cool! DS looks like he had a blast in there.

What cute pics with the characters and the banner! Did DS's class absolutely love it???
We loved that balcony! The shrimp lo mein was VERY GOOD. I wish I could have it right now too. :rotfl:
We all had a great time in T-Rex. Very neat place!
DS's class went wild over the banner. The teacher had her laptop hooked up to a TV in the classroom so she would read the email and show the pictures on the TV for them.

T Rex looks really cool!! Have to think about it for September !!!
You will love it!!

OMG, Blue, those OKW pictures had me drooling... it looks STUNNING!

And the CLASS BANNER!! I KNEW I heard of a great class 'gift' and couldn't remember where I read it... it was you! I'm going to borrow that idea if that's okay... My class would LOVE to have a banner signed by the characters... it's perfect!

Thanks for the TRex pictures. We have ressies there with our friends. I think the kids will totally dig the decor!
OMG, your kids will LOVE t-rex! You and DH will love it too. It is such a neat place and so many things to do and see.

The teacher said they did. One of DS's friends cried one day because he thought DS was having so much fun that he would never go back to school. :rotfl: We had to send a shout out to him the next day in our email. Too cute.

T-Rex was sort of loud when the meteor shower started and all that. But mostly there were so many people that it sort of "cushioned" the dinosaur sounds. :rotfl2: DS was nervous at first especially with that huge T-rex moving when you first come in. But I was like...."oh, no sir! You said you wanted to eat here and I went through a lot trying to make sure we got a reservation. You are most definitely going in!" :lmao: He got over it quickly and walked in.

Morning Blue!!
morning rosie

Awesome pictures of T-Rex! :thumbsup2
Thank you. :goodvibes

We had a long day but it was great!
Awww, thank you! :lovestruc He did have a wonderful b-day. He had a party at the children's museum with all his classmates and then we had a family only thing the next day at our house. It was nice.

You're alot more dedicated than I am......I'd never take a big sing around from my kids class! Now that's dedication!:thumbsup2

We really loved T-Rex too!

Your pictures from the resort are lovely!

I enjoyed the videos. I think I might chance it on our next trip.

HOpefully all the things to look at will distract him from the noise :rotfl:

The sign was able to roll up small with a rubberband around it. We got the fab 5 autographs within 2 days and then didn't have to worry about it anymore. The main trick was not to stress about it which I am known to do when it comes to taking things along to be signed. :rolleyes1

T-Rex was great wasn't it??

Thank you. :)

Evening Blue !!
Hiya rosie :goodvibes

Thank you.
I think he will love it once he is inside and at a table. DS was fine after a couple of minutes. But he was definitely nervous at first.

Well, after T-Rex we shopped around DTD a bit and played at the Lego store as usual. DH and I agreed that we should buy DS a Lego starter kit but it was SO CROWDED we left with nothing. I'm glad DS didn't hear that conversation. :rolleyes1

It was definitely a Saturday night as DTD was packed no matter where you turned. The cheerleaders had turned in their sweats, pom-poms, and short shorts for very high heels, short skirts, skimpy tops and lots of make up. Not sure where exactly they thought they were going considering they are minors. :confused3

Anyhoo, after a bit of shopping we were beat! We were in need of a good full nights sleep tonight. We had breakfast ADR's at Crystal Palace the next morning at 8:05am before the park opens.....we love doing this. We decide to head back to OKW to bathe and jump in bed.

Once back at OKW, we started getting DS ready for a bath. In a 1 bedroom villa you get the huge garden jacuzzi tub. DS LOVES this tub! We bought him a cool tug boat with a Thomas the Train toy on top. It was a surprise. DH was in the bedroom trying to open the box......parents, I'm sure you know how that can be! DH decides to pull out his pocket knife and somehow ends up slicing his index finger while trying to cut the box ties. He cut it to the bone. I could tell when he came to me asking for a band-aid that something was wrong. 1.) he wouldn't show it to me and 2.) he was talking to me in an extra calm tone of voice that just isn't him. I asked to see it, he said no. He gave me some idiot story about how in a first aid class at work they said you should apply pressure and not let up. Now I'm getting mad because I KNOW it is worse than he is letting on just by the way he is acting. LADIES, WHAT IS IT WITH MEN IN A SITUATION SUCH AS THIS???? :sad2: Now, I demand to see the darn finger and when he FINALLY shows me, I tell him he OBVIOUSLY needs stitches and no band-aid will help him. :teacher: HELLO!!!! HE KNOWS THIS. WHY IS IS ACTING LIKE HE DOESN'T??? I call the front desk and tell them what happened and was given directions to a "24 hour" "emergency" clinic. We all pile back in to the car and head to the clinic.........WHICH IS CLOSED. It is a 24 hour pharmacy and the clinic closed at 5pm. The pharmacist gives us directions to the emergency room at the hospital that I couldn't even tell you the name of by this time. We FINALLY make it to the real emergency room and I'm glad that this was not a life or death situation. DS is beat and falls asleep on me in the lobby. This is when I realize just how much he's grown. I'm trying to cradle him sort of like a baby so he can be comfortable and sleep and also so he's not laying his head on some germy chair. :sad2: They call DH back relatively quickly but he doesn't come out for about an hour and a half. By the time we get back to the hotel it is past midnight. DH is fine and with 4 stitches and an eventual bill for $400 (our portion after insurance), we climb the 3 flights of stairs back to our fabulous view room  and konk out for the night. The wake up call comes way too fast the next morning.

Up Next......Park Day 2! Magic Kingdom...

Ooooooooooooooo no:scared1:stiches. I can't believe. I hope it healed ok. I am so sorry that happened to you. I hate how they make toys so hard to open. I once almost threw away a brand new set of Hulk hands because I was running low on patience and couldn't get them out of the box. :rotfl2:
I hope the rest of the trip went smooth.

First off - I completely understand what you're talking about with the boxes that toys come in. Why do they do this to us?? :sad2:

Second - OUCH!!! Poor hubby. :( I hope it didn't bother him too much for the rest of the trip.

I was just cringing when you said he cut it to the bone.:scared1:
Your poor husband. And how wonderful the little guy was so tolerant of things.
I'm so sorry that happened.

I have spent all day catching up on this thread! Love reading it! I am going to make a countdown calender like yours for my DS! Thanks for the great idea. Sorry your DH hurt himself on vacation! Cant wait to read about the rest of your trip

Thank goodness dh said it didn't really hurt that much and once the stitches were in, it didn't hurt at all for the rest of the trip. He covered it with a band-aid while in the parks and said he was fine.

:rotfl2:I know what you mean. You need hulk hands just to open the darn box!!!

Jeez , way to end a night!
Yeah, really!!

Oh my -- what a horrific way to end the night!!!
Yes it was. Also a black cat ran across the street in front of my car on the way back to the hotel. I didn't hit it but I sure wondered what other bad luck was going to come this trip! :lmao: Thank goodness nothing else like this happened.
your poor husband--what a yucky way to end the night:scared1:
I know, I was scared that he would be in pain for the rest of the trip but luckily he was not.

I HATE THOSE TOY BOXES!!!!

Thank goodness it didn't bother him for the rest of the trip. He got the stitches removed 1 week later. 4 weeks later we got our portion of the bill.

I was just cringing when you said he cut it to the bone.:scared1:

I was cringing when I saw it!! Band-aid my butt!! He knew he needed stitches. I guess he just didn't want to worry me and ds.

:rotfl:You spent all day on my crazy thread?? I'm flattered. Welcome to our funky bunch! :grouphug: Your DS will love the calendar. Mine asks for one every trip now. Luckily DH's injury wasn't something worse.

Trent is so into Legos now

We just got him Indiana Joans set today..one of the small ten dollar sets.

a few weeks ago, we got him a Star Wars one

He actually does really well with it....last year, it was so hard for him, guess he is growing up

Okay, sorry about babbling there

anyway.. what an eventful end to a night for you all

Hope you made it your adr next morning after being ER until late :goodvibes
