Dessert Box Seating at Fantasmic

If you get tickets and they tell you to be there 1/2 before the show or whatever time it is you have to be there before the show, go earlier because in Nov we went and I think we were told to check in around 8 p.m. (not quite sure) and happened to be in the area around 7:15 and noticed people lining up in order to get the front row seats.

Thank youfor the tip! Did you feel it was worth it...for the price. We will have a 7, 9 and 1 year old and I'm thinking that it will be worth not having them sit around for 2 hours waiting for the show to start.

So worth it! I ran over an checked in early- 7:00- while DH and DD rode pirates for the 20th time! Ha! Ha!. When they got off and had a potty check, they walked right up and got their drink and snack box. The show started right after they got their drinks!

I wish that I had paid for that seating! Especially after having to hold up my 32 lb 3year old so she could see through the whole show. :scared1: We got there early and still didn’t get the best place to stand either. The show was very good and worth the wait though. :wizard:

With luck, we are able to book the day of the show (non busy day). around Lunch time called the dining line and found out there were seats for a 7:30 show. Told to head to Guest Services at the entrance to DL to pick up tickets. When we picked up the tickets told to be at checkin at 6:30 (they did not give really clear direction on where to check in). I arrived at 6 pm to wait, while DH and DD went on Pirates and bathroom trip. It was next to a churro cart, but there wasn't any CM or Poduim at this time. People started showing up to wait about 6:10. Poduim showed up at 6:20 and CM started talking to us at 6:30. Told us to come back at 7pm for the 7:30 show. Some of us were directed to a different location (center white chairs), next to the Fantasmic Crew family area, near a lighting structure.
Front row were given not to those who booked first, but to those who were in line first. (which I really don't like that model, but I guess there are people who book, pay and never show up). Remember the whole family does not need to be in line to check in. But since we were direct to a different entrance than near the Churro cart, you had to find your family to let them know where to be between 7 and 7:30. They started seating as early as 7 for a 7:30 show. It is nicer to be there with enough time to get your drink and dessert box, so that you could manage it in the light vs trying to juggle it all.

Enjoy

So what is included for the $60??? What kind of drink?? What is the dessert box? :confused3 Any pictures?

Also... at WDW - I would NOT want to sit in the first row because of the water spray. I'd prefer at least 5-7 rows back. Is it the same way at DL? Or is there not as much water?

So if I'm understanding correctly - if you don't pay the $60 - you will have to stand for the entire show? I'm just trying to figure this all out since at WDW it is a huge stadium thing that holds a TON of people and there really isn't a bad seat in the place since there are multiple projection fountains. Sounds like that isn't the case at DL?

Sorry I did not get pictures. Here is what you get for $60. A comfortable chair to sit in with a back. Not having to reserve your place hours in advance. Unlimited drinks: Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate, Coke products, Water. The dessert box consisted of Grapes, different types of cheese, crackers, Truffles, etable sugar spoon, Cheese cake, Lemon/Lime Torte, Rasberry filled cake with chocolate top, Brownie cake, Macoroon, and probably something else I am forgetting. It was too much for 1 person in my opinion. Between the 3 of us, we took 1 1/2 contents back to our hotel and ate over the next couple of days.

front row in this area is back away from the water and also raised a level then those sitting on the ground next to the water. This is not the same Stadium seating like WDW, but rather a walkway, Dock area that gets converted by people sitting/standing on the cement. Also those that are infront of the dessert area setting, must stay sitting during the performance.

No.. if you get on a lower level, you will be asked to say sitting, sometimes folks will reserve their places with Blankets or coats or strollers at least 2 hours in advance. There are other areas that you can stand. There are 3 projection fountains at DL, but since this was not set up orginally for fantasmic and there are walkways and attractions in the area, finding the ideal spot to sit is sometimes difficult if you are not familiar with it all.

I have a picture from November, but I think the contents changed since then:

You can get several drinks and are not limited to one. I got a hot chocolate (delicious), a coke and they also gave us bottled water. They do offer tea, coffee, hot chocolate and several choices of soft drinks.

The cast members do make rounds to check on people.

Wannabe Ariel:

To be specific - Fantasmic is performed on the Rivers of America (think of where the seating is as being along the Frontierland paths/parade route near Country Bear Jamboree in WDW) .

They use a stage on Tom Sawyer's Island for the kinds of things that are done on the cliffs in the WDW amphitheater. Keep in mind that the two shows are not the same - there is no Pocahontas and John Smith (climbing the cliff) scene in ours here at DL. The show was modified to go into that specific setting when they decided to move it to WDW.

We are doing the dessert seating in 2 weeks and will do a review of it for the podcast.

Fantasmic is shown on the island (Tom Sawyer/Pirates Lair) and the river. People watch it from the New Orleans side of the Rivers of American, from about the Haunted Mansion/raft dock area to Riverbelle Terrace area. The people in front sit on the ground, and then the next group of people stand.

There is a walkway behind the people viewing the show, and guests are not allowed to sit on the brick walls, etc.

By late afternoon, people will start staking their areas to watch the show

View from the seating area of the "stage" for Fantasmic. I would recommend making sure you're not behind or next to one of the columns as that will block your view a little.

We just did this Sunday, March 8th. We checked in at 8pm for the 9pm show. It was well worth not having to stake out our place 2 hrs prior on the ground. It also was worth it to avoid the crowds & have an unobstructed view......we were dead center to the action!
You're seated & offered a drink immediately, which they'll keep filled thru-out the show. You get your dessert box & you get to relax.

The show was fabulous & if there are fireworks following the show, you are allowed to stay in your seats and watch from there.

We paid $59/adult & the child amt is $49

There are 6 of us, $$$, but well worth it since we go during August. The 4 kids paid their own way, younger ones with babysitting, paper route, etc.
Do not tolerate some of the rude people very well.

also - we have done this in several occasions, and really front row seats aren't that much of a big deal - views are pretty good anywhere, so don;t panic too much about that.

I am so glad I wandered across this thread!!! We're going in 6 weeks and I'm going to surprise the group with this!!!

My feet thank you soooo much!!!

I am very interested in this, as I have been to DL twice and WDW once and have never seen the show mainly because I cannot be bothered waiting with two small children. I had read somewhere if you don't get checked in early and get in the front row you may have difficulty seeing. With Cullen only being 3 and little I would hate to pay all that money and he can't see. Although I suppose he could always sit on a lap if need be.

Once you check in and are seated, what happens if you have to get up?

I am planning on scheduling this on one of the nights when my husband will not be with us. We will certainly try to take care of restroom needs before we are seated but what if we need to get up? Can we get back to our seats?

How long is the show?

If you are going to be there in six weeks F! will not be running. It will be down from march 29th through early june I believe.

It is worth the money not to wait...but sadly it wont be running during either of our spring/summer trips!

I've been considering doing this for my trip in september, sounds worth it so if we can budget it in for our trip i think we may book. Just have to wait now to see if and when Fantasmic is showing while we are there :)
