Okay, does anyone have suggestions on how I can get Dr. pepper while on the cruise. it is the only pop I drink and I am not sure I can go a whole week without it. We will be staying at the DVC a few days prior to the cruise. Can we bring pop on board?

I haven't carried drinks onboard, but many others have said that you can take drinks aboard in a collapsible cooler (no ice). You need to do this as a carry-on. So I suppose however many you can squeeze in the cooler is how many you can take!:woohoo:

You can carry it on...in any sort of container you'd like. It will stay cold in the beverage cooler, especially if you put your ice bucket in the cooler!

Cruising is not like the airport. You can definitely bring beverages. There is even a small cooler (not quite a fridge) in the room. Just pack your drinks in your luggage.

I packed a small suitecase with water, etc. and put a luggate tag on it. It was delivered to our room, no problem. When the drinks were gone, I had an extra suitcase to bring home all the goodies I bought on the trip!

The cooler actually kept the drinks nice and cold!

I just got off the Magic last week. We had the driver stop at the store just near the port and bought six bottles of beer and four small bottles of wine which we packed in my wife's carry-on bag. There was a very prominent sign (just near the X-Ray machines at the entrance to the terminal) that said something like "secure area - no alocoholic beverages past this point". Nothing was said to us at all so this obviously referred to opened drinks.

The little fridge in the room kept the drinks at a reasonably cool temperature. If you like your drinks icy cold though, do what a bloke we met on our cruise did and bring your collapsible cooler. He just asked his stateroom attendant to keep it topped up with ice (which of course was done brilliantly - those stateroom attendants are worth theor weight in gold!)

Please don't pack bottles of soda, wine or liquor in your checked luggage. If it breaks open and it has been known to happen, you are at risk of getting your and others luggage very wet! DCL will let you carry on bottles if they are in bags fit through the xray machine and are not on ice.

My husband drinks Diet Dr. Pepper as well and I knew he was going to be needing some SOMETIME during our cruise. I had Shirley make up a gift bag for him for our anniversary and told her to add a six-pack of Diet Dr. Pepper. Boy, was he surprised because he already knew they didn't have it on the ship.

I think that DCL has those signs up more to keep the port authorities happy. ;) DCL is the only cruise line that I have heard of that allows guests to take drinks onboard.

Yes please don't do that! You should see how high those bags are packed before delivering them to the rooms- clear to the ceiling! And they do NOT have time to be gentle with any luggage- they are basically chunked (hard and high) to pile them up in the luggage rooms near the staterooms they are going (have witnessed it myself walking by with the door open) and even luggage can get damaged... liquids could easily be broken/squished/etc. and it's not cool if you damage other people's luggage and/or their clothing inside. :(
