Lotions, Anit-bacterial gel, shampoo, etc... Do you pack them in with your checked luggage or do you put them in a carryon? Just curious if it is also limited like the airlines?

thanks for your help!

The ship has no limits. I usually pack them in my checked luggage just because that makes everything easy with the airlines....The ship has nice shampoo--I don't bring that. I do place these things in a waterproof make-up case and then put that in a ziplock bag just so my clothes have like no risk of getting messed up.

Put them in a carry on for sure! I had my hairspray go all over the rest of my stuff. It was not fun cleaning it up. I took soooo many toiletries with us I had a huge portion of my bag dedicated to this stuff... next time, not so many. Due to airline check in restrictions and weight limits, I just may ixna 3/4 of what I brought. The Ship does have the best shampoo and conditioner. Many of us have even purchased the products from the website. THE SMELL TAKES me right back to the ship. I WANNA GO BACK:goodvibes

I put anything like that in my carry on, *but* I have learned not to take shampoo, soap, etc. I have no need for it if they are going to put it in our rooms, anyway. Does that make sense? Saves a ton of room in my bags, too.

We usually buy the travel sized bottles of products we need and put them in the carryon. Most companies started offering 3 ounce sizes after the airline restrictions went into effect. Walmart, Walgreens, Rite Aid and Longs carry them. We just leave what's left in the trash on the ship. Actually, Holland American is now collecting those left overs at the end of it's cruises and giving them to homeless shelters.

Say it ain't so.... the shampoo and conditioner on the ship is actually good? Good enough that I will be safe not packing any from home? That would really save me a lot of room!! :woohoo:

The shampoo and conditioner on the ship (and now at the resorts, too) is made by H2O and is nothing short of FANTABULOUS!! We liked it so much, we went to their website and now have the full-size bottles delivered directly to our doorstep regularly, along with a number of their other products we've fallen in love with! Can't thank DCL enough for introducing us to this wonderful line of toiletries!!

I pack anything liquid in checked luggage and use the 2 gallon zip lock bags - when I am flying

I also bring a couple of extra ones for whatever when packing to come home - no matter where I go

The products are very good. But if you are like me and do not like the scent of lavender, then the hair products are not for you. the Lotion was ok.

I used it the first year it came out and I just could get the smell out of my hair. ended up using my small supply I brought with me.

I haven't used it the last two time, so if they have changed the scent it might be better.

The shampoo I bought onboard in the gift shop (the same as in the non-suite cabins) is green in color and called H2O Sea Marine Revitalizing Shampoo I did not detect Lavendar at all...not sure what the scent is but I love it!

Here is a link to shampoo in the non-suite cabins.

Wish they would provide shower gel instead of bar soap though...I much prefer body wash or shower gel instead of soap.

No fond of the scent of the body butter.

P.S....love you name signature...just like the Magic on the bow!!!

Yeah, it really is. I brought a fair amount home with me. :) I asked for extras.

Yeah ... same stuff as in the suites - except we do get shower gel - and it didn't smell anything like lavender. It had a more minty smell to it.
