Welcome to the RideMax Users Thread! Bellebookworm9 has been nice enough to create a FAQs post for us. It is post 945 on page 63. Here is the link: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=35460390&postcount=945 I hope you guys find these FAQs useful. Thanks, Bellebookworm9 for creating the FAQs :thumbsup2!

Does anybody want to join in on a RideMax Users thread?? We could share tips and tricks we've figured out about how to make the best use of the software, and any questions we have about it. Besides, it seems like there are a lot of RideMax threads floating around these days-- this would be a good place for people wanting to know about RideMax to stop. :thumbsup2 Anybody in?

Here's one tip I've figured out: Make sure you select which rides your FastPass runner is willing to miss. Our plans are 10 times better when I tell the software that the FP runner can miss a few minor attractions! What other tips do you guys have??

And here's one question I have: How do you account for using child swap on the plan? We will be traveling with preschoolers, and might need to use child swap once or twice. Is there any way to account for the extra time it will take to ride the ride again but not have to wait in line? --Katie

I'm in.

One thing that I have found is if you want to do something in particular first, like KS at AK. Put it in with a few shows so that it will give you the proper times for doing that the first thing in the morning. Then block out that much time as a break in a new plan.

I have also found that you sometimes need to toggle the FP Runner off and on to get it to work.

I'm in !!!! I love Ridemax!!

Hmm, I don't know about the child swap...Maybe Mark will pop in here and answer that.

I'm excited to use the Epcot WS shows portion! I always seem to miss the ones I really want to see...so I'm hoping by adding those into the 4 hour countercloackwise (or other) tour plan, I can catch them.

We're considering getting ridemax for our Aug trip. DOes it accomodate early emh? We also won't be hopping. I have only heard bit and pieces from the boards and this is the reason I logged on today. Any advice would be apprectiated!

It only supports morning EMHs at MK. It also does not support Sundays.

If you do decide to get it, wait till about 8 weeks from you departure date.
If you get it to soon, you dates won't be up and it will be like having a new toy with no batteries.

LOL! That's just how I feel ;) ! I did manage tod hold off on buying it until we were less than 90 days out from the end of our trip. That way, I'll have the subscription during our trip. I have been playing arund with other dates and seeing what pops up! I can't wait for May dates to be released, though!

Thanks for the tip-- I've been wondering how to get it to let me go on the KS first thing in the morning--I've heard that the animals are more likely to be active then. --Katie

May dates are up.

I'm wondering about the child swap too.

I'm having the hardest time getting KS to be first thing. No matter what I do it has me going in the afternoon.

the only thing I can think of is building in breaks as child swaps. Like get your schedule then add in a break after each of the headliners for another 15mins and see how that goes.

I didn't really think about the swapping this time as we've been hoping the youngest will hit 40" but it looks like he'll be an inch too short still. :headache:

I'm going to fiddle around and see what I can come up with.

ok using our schedule for 4/28, it couldn't build in the swaps/breaks properly and maintain the same ride order. It also said we should get a BTMR FP at 7pm and come back to use it at 7:45pm! LOL I'm not sure that is working properly at all.

ok I tried putting in extra rides that could be place holders for the child swap. What worked was adding in haunted mansion and POC 2x each when we really only want to do 1 ride. It placed 1 after BTMR and 1 after Splash so instead of doing those we could do the swap with enough time leftover to get to the next ride 'on time'.

For child swap, I'm going to try adding in the ride twice and seeing if it tells me to do it in a row. Short of that, I don't know how else to work in child swap. . . My DH and mom both get motion sickness-- so chances are-- someone will WANT to sit out on a ride with my youngest. But, there may be a few rides that everyone wants to do. . .

Dave-- the trick about the safari worked for me. I chose a date and then a bunch of shows to fill up the rest of times except for early morning, and then once it put the Safari first, I just used those times as a guide and ran a new plan with my starting time at 9:45 am, instead of 9am. That way, we'll do the safari first (the first plan said the wait would only be 2 minutes and the ride is about 30 minutes), and then we'll do everything else. Thanks for the tip!

One other tip I've found-- if you don't like the first plan it gives to you, sometimes, if you just hit "make my plan" again, it will give you a different plan. --Katie

Another trick is to switch between slow and normal. So far slow works best for me in Magic Kingdom but normal in Epcot.

I solved the KS dilemma by starting our plan 50 mins after opening- that should give us time to head to KS first thing and ride, and then pick up the Ridemax plan immediately following.

My goal is to use Ridemax for the mornings, but I want to leave late afternoons/evenings open for relaxing. This means I'd love to figure out how to finish all of my scheduled attractions as early as possible in each park. So far the only way I've figured to do it is trial and error- I start with a later end time and keep bumping it earlier until it won't let me anymore.

I love the idea of a ridemax thread.. I am thinking about subscribing for our Sept trip. Have any of you used it before? How easy/hard is it to use? Thanks.. I am looking forward to playing around with our dates.

Great idea for a thread!!

I can't wait for May dates to be released, though!

Guess what???!!! Just logged in (and needed to upgrade - glad for that, I was having some trouble with crashing) and MAY DATES ARE ON THERE!!! Whoo-hoo!! Now I'm REALLY ready to play!! Previously I was using March/April dates that had the same or similar crowd level (on Touring plans) and same recommended parks.

I really wish it utilized more EMH's - we're going to try DHS evening EMH this time.

Thanks for the idea of using a later starting time if you want to start with a specific time. On our first park day, at MK, we'd like to do Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. RideMax has us starting with AstroOrbiter, but the kids really want Dumbo first!

Can you give me some more info?? What is the cost? Do you tell it what you want to do/see and it gives you the schedule to follow? Thanks!

I've been playing around with our plans. It's going to be hard to use the MK plan. It will be my daughter's birthday and she is going to get the FP for the family, so how the heck will I factor that into our plan? We'll have lots of extra FP and won't need to send a runner for those, but we might need to send one for others. I think we'll be a little messed up on that one.

And the other thing is that we are thinking we want to ride Soarin' twice. Every time I make my plans, it has us go get FP for it two different times, but then ride it back to back. We were kind of wanting to do it first thing. It sends us to test track first to ride that, then go get our first FP for Soarin'. It doesn't have us riding it back to back until 4:30 in the afternoon! I've tried adjusting the plan and creating it again, but it still does that.

Really wish it would do the evening EMH, too. I do like the program though, just wish I could tweak it a little bit. We have the touring plans, too, so we may copy off both and then see how they both work out.

Oh, and another question....I am taking my laptop with me to WDW. Are you printing off your ridemax schedules before you go and just carrying each one with you that day? I might revise ours with my laptop and then adjust it. I could email it to my iphone I think.
