Is it a bad sign for the vacation when you faint on the plane? COMPLETED!

Great Update Heidi!! Thank you for letting me go shopping with you!! I simply adored your purchases they are great!! Huge fan of the Disney board games so loved your new Monopoly and I would love to play with you anytime LOL!!! If Jackie's bringing the cookies I'll bring the caramel popcorn LOL!!

Hope you are feeling good!!!

Joining your trip report! I have been reading over the past couple of days and loving it! I have a 17 month old son too and we are going in 3 weeks, so I'm getting lots of good ideas of what (and what not) to do. ;)

Liam is the cutest! We may do the first haircut at MK too. Where did you get his t-shirt that says "My first visit?" It is adorable.

Looking forward to reading the rest!

MORE shopping???

Nice! :woohoo:

I didn't see any of that stuff at WoD. But I was shopping with 2 children at the time. Shopping alone would have been wonderful!

Shopping alone is wonderful...you don't get rushed or distracted!

Oh, how I have enjoyed virtual shopping with you, Heidi!!!

I really like everything you bought -- I may need that zippered pouch!

I want to play Disney Monopoly!!! I'll bring the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies!!! :yay:
You remembered my favorite cookies!!!! I just might have to get you a plane ticket to come up north.

Nice shopping spree!! :thumbsup2

Alex will come play Monopoly with you... he has the Disney Pixar edition of Monopoly - we used to play A LOT!! Not so much lately - I was actually trying to convince him to play with me last weekend.
I might force DH to play it with me this weekend.

GIRL! You got some serious shop on! I love that fuzzy Santa hat with ears, so cute. And I'm all with you on buying the kids clothes a bit bigger so they last longer, especially from the World, because they are such good quality. Honestly, frugal me almost doesn't mind spending those prices, because I know that DS will get a good two years out of whatever item, you know? :goodvibes

Liam looks so cute in his hoodie. And I know it will last to hand in down to Baby Girl.

Nice Haul!! :thumbsup2

Don't worry about the date on that little shirt... Baby certainly was there at WDW in 2008! ;)

Kathy

Very True!

I wanted the Vintage stickers but forgot to get them, I did get the sticker quotes and agree with you about it being a waste of money, and I also got the Mickey and Friends stickers.

Great minds think alike :thumbsup2.

Great update!! Now you have me wanting to get a Mr. Potato Head and the parts :rotfl: .
I need to put together an album of our 1984 trip so I might use the vintage stickers for that. Those quote stickers....I was actually being good and not opening up the package and look where that got me! At least I had some stickers to send out to DISers with maps I had picked up.

Mr. Potato Head parts are addictive.....I feel the need to collect them all. The kids aren't allowed to play with them....just me

Wow! You can shop girl! :rotfl: Those were fun pictures. :thumbsup2 Love seeing the Christmas ornaments as I plan to get one on our trip and I like having an idea of what's out there. :goodvibes

I have even more shopping to show you.

I love ALL of your purchases! Especially the Disney Monopoly. I've had my eyes on that for awhile, also the Villian Monopoly that I found at Barnes & Noble. :worship:

It was a bit pricey at $40 but I had wanted it in 2007 and it was sold out.....when I bought it in 2008 I didn't know the price...oh well.

Great haul! I'm always so tempted by everything I find at DTD. I love the ornaments.

We didn't have a christmas tree this year so those new ornaments never even got put out! Next Year!

great shopping spree...I love the little Santa Mickey hat. Have to look for that!

Hey do you know if they sell the Mr. P parts seperately or you have to fill a box?

If yes, I'd be happy to look for you in like 16 days and buy it [umbrella] for you.
Thanks for the offer....I don't think you can indie parts. Have your girls found the My Pretty Pony parts? That's fun to do to....I filled a box of that stuff once for a gift.

I love all your details! I'm learning so much!
Thanks!

I love me some caramel popcorn! Come on up!!!!

An udpate! Yeah! I heart heart shopping updates too!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great stuff!
I only wished that I had taken the time to take pictures of the displays....I love it when other DISers to that for there reports.

Let me know if you have any questions....happy to help.

I made that t-shirt. I got part of the design from the creavite board here on the DIS and added to it.

I enjoyed your shopping trip. I'm glad you got to do that alone, it makes it so much easier. Of course, I always spend more when I am alone. When my kids are with me I spend so much time chasing them that I get annoyed and just leave.

I love your trip report. I wish that I could go shopping by myself. My hubbie doesn't like to shop and he gets bored so I end up rushing and worring about the kids. Next time I think I'll just have to take my daughter and leave the boys to themselves.

Congratulations on your baby girl. I have 2 May babies great time of year for a birthday but a crazy month when you throw in their birthdays 12 & 25, Mother's day, Memorial Day and my hubby coaches high school track so it is the height of the season. Busy Busy!!

Look forward to reading more.
Cheryl:)

Yes we did that last year...we dug for quite a while to find sets of 4 little pony shoes.

bummer I can't buy you an umbrella I can post a picture of ours and you can print and cut it out;)

I read your report and felt you were very not happy much with many things. I think you are hard to please.pirate:

HOLY SHOPPING BATMAN!! Everything is great! I am going to have to spy out some vintage stickers. I have a thing with stickers-and vintage is always good. I like vintage tees too, I never saw one - but I probably wans't looking too hard! I should really check out DisneyShopping.com, we have a $40 gift card right now!

Looking forward to more shopping! YAY!

Basically in a nutshell Liam has developmental delays in his responsive and expressive speech. At 22 months old he only has like 3 words.

I can't believe little Henry was over 10 lbs.!! Was he delivered past his due date?

My DNeph was like that - he didn't really start talking until age 2. He was a very early walker (9 months), so sometimes, according to their Ped, because they are ahead in one area, they are delayed in another.

I hope the therapy appointments continue to go well...before you know it I bet Liam will be saying all sorts of stuff!

Henry was about a week past his due date-and still not ready to come, they induced me. It was a horrible labor (32 hours, all back labor to end in c-section) and everyone laughed at him being 10 pounds (including me!)!They knew he'd be big, but no projections were in the 10 pound range!

Now, number two traditionally is larger, hopefully NOT the case here should we decide to have another!

I think Liam was strapped into a stroller anytime he went into a store :lmao:

I think shopping is a great time to split up the group. Not only does everyone get to do something that they enjoy but it also serves as a nice break away from each other.

My son's birthday is May 10th so we'll be dealing with two birthday parties close together as well.

Yes we did that last year...we dug for quite a while to find sets of 4 little pony shoes.
There was an "outfit" I wanted for Mr. Potato Head but I could only find left side arms.....no rights! Guess I'll have to try again next time

Are you always so charming when you post on a thread for the first time?

Ouch... go easy on the pregnant hormonal woman! Have you ever been to Disney pregnant with a toddler?

Thanks Amy ;)

 for Heidi
:thumbsup2

I hadn't seen half the stuff in your pictures from DHS....I never think to shop there.

Back to my day of shopping…..

It’s now 12:30pm and I just finished shopping at the World of Disney.

I took some pictures of DTD decorated for Halloween for you:

Marker for the Trick or Treating spot.

My next stop (at least where I purchased something) was Basin. I usually go nuts in here…I’ve been known to spend $50 on soap. I had already decided to limit myself to one or two soaps.

I got the peppermint Mickey soap. ($5.05 with tax)

118021.jpg

FYI Tip for the soap in Basin: It’s hand cut and sold by the pound. The signage on the tables is the per pound price. Each soap is priced by its weight.

I then went back to the Days of Christmas shop because they have the best selection of car antenna toppers. ($4.95 each)

118028.jpg

I was getting hungry so off to Goofy’s Candy Co. I went. I really wanted one of those slushie drinks in the build your own cups. I was worried that I wouldn’t like the actual slushie. I asked the CM if they were really sweet….more for a kid, than an adult. And she was kind of enough to tell me the truth, that yes they were really sweet but she wasn’t suppose to tell me that! I was bummed because I really wanted one of those cups! Oh well. I looked around the store and found some boxed chocolates to give to our neighbor as a thank you for feeding our fish while we were away ($10.95). I also grabbed a bottle of Diet Coke ($1.87 20 oz)
118008.jpg

Next stop was the Pet store and Pooh Corner (they share the same space).
Here I got my dog Riley a Mickey shaped plush toy for $6.00 (sorry no picture). And I found an onies for Baby. ($14.95….it’s the one in the front of the picture)

118019.jpg

I did go to other stores this day, just didn’t buy anything from them. I popped into the Team Disney store because I wanted to get something for my godson…they had nothing there that I liked for him. But I did find every man at DTD in that store. There is a guy there that makes baseball bats as a demo. You should have seen the men crowded around watching this guy….it was really funny because there were NO women around at all. (hint hint Wings and 2excited!)

At some point I went and got my stuff form the locker and decided to get lunch before I went back to the resort. I had planned on eating at the Earl of Sandwich but for a reason I don’t remember I decided not to. That was a mistake.

I decided on trying Cookes of Dublin again.
1030022.jpg

I wasn’t overly impressed with it when DH went there for lunch on a previous trip but I make it a rule not to cross any restaurant off my list until it fails me twice in a row. Cookes of Dublin is now on my do not eat there list now. Here’s why:
-they cook to order….now that’s usually a good thing but I don’t want to wait 20 minutes for fish and chips at a counter service place. And that’s how long my wait was and they were no where near busy.
-dirty tables. Enough said.
-their method of getting you your order. They ask you for your first name. Then they yell it out from behind the counter when it’s ready. My first name is Heidi. It didn’t sound like “Heidi” when it was called out. I don’t know what they do when it’s busy.
-I thought the fish portion size was small for $10 and very bland tasting. I much prefer the fish and chips shop at Epcot.

While I waited for my food I tried calling DH a couple of times…no answer. I decided that if I didn’t get a hold of him by the time I was done eating then I would just take the bus back to the resort as now it was past 2pm.

Disney was re-furbing the Italian restaurant while we were there. On first glace I thought they were re-tiling the roof. Nope. They were re-painting the roof to look like tiles! I thought that was pretty cool.

1030021.jpg

I wanted to check out the then and still closed Pleasure Island and take some pictures.

1030033.jpg

The next pictures are from the construction that was being done at the time for the new South American restaurant.

1030027.jpg

1030023.jpg

1030024.jpg

1030025.jpg

I found it interesting that all the names of the clubs at Pleasure Island were removed in some way except the Adventure’s Club and the Comedy Warehouse…..maybe there is hope for them. I think the Adventure’s Club would be great as a dinner show. They would have to move location or expand next door but I’d love an adults only evening there. I also think that Disney should put in a kids club (daycare) in Downtown Disney….they could use parts of Disney Quest for that. OK enough day dreaming….here are the pictures.

1030028.jpg

1030031.jpg

1030029.jpg

1030030.jpg

1030032.jpg

From here I went to find the bus stop that is near the West Side….let’s just say that I didn’t find it on my first try. This was my first time on a Disney bus this trip except for the internal shuttle at the campground. I really liked the pre-recorded music and announcements that they have added. It was very helpful once we got into CBR because I didn’t know which stop was Barbados and I couldn’t see the sign from where I was sitting.

When I got back to the room the boys were just hanging out relaxing.

What DH and Liam did while I was at DTD:

That morning I had asked DH to stop at a store on his way back to the resort to pick me up some cough syrup and Tylenol sinus meds. The gift shop at the resort had Robitussin but I didn’t want to pay $9.25 for the bottle. DH stopped at the first store that he came to….Gooding’s. I guess it’s a tourist trap of a grocery store because Robitussin was $9.19 there. Tylenol sinus was $7.99.

I know the boys walked around the whole resort that morning. And for lunch they went to the food court. Looking at the receipt for lunch, DH forgot to bring drinks with them from the room because Liam got a milk and DH a soda along with a Chicken sandwich and a fruit cup. Their lunch was $15.09.

Up next: the rest of our afternoon and dinner, otherwise known as the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Sounds like you had an awesome day of shopping! I did a whole lot of oohh-ing and ahh-ing at all of the goodies. I bought the same ornaments from the Christmas store that you did! And the same box of candy! Love the antenna toppers!

May we please have a moment of silence in memory of the now-extinct Adventurer's Club.... :sad1: What a mistake it was to close it down!

Heidi, I have never even been inside of Basin because I just know I would go wild in there! ;) I'll bet that peppermint soap smells heavenly!

Thanks for sharing all the Halloween-y DTD pictures.... they're getting me in the mood for my own far-off trip!!

Sounds like Daddy and Son had a wonderful time hanging out together!

Kathy

Glad your shopping Day was a success...I really wish I had a whole 1/2 day to poke around and shop like you.

I'm sure my DH would be happy if the Adventurer's Club was resurected too.

Thanks for the (2nd) review of Cooke's...if we eat at MP we'll stick w/ EoS

Scrappie

Very neat DtD Halloween decorations! Wish I could have them for my house.

I can't wait to head back to Basin and stock up on more Mickey soap.

So sad that the Adventurer's Club is no more. :sad1:

Great pictures from Pleasure Island! I've never been and I've only seen a few dark night-time pictures before. It's much brighter than I expected! Not sure why... everything is bright & cheery at Disney.

I'm glad you had such a nice day shopping. :goodvibes

This is such a great report. Not sure if Ihave posted before but I have been reading along. I appreciate all the great pics and details on pricing. We are taking our first trip in May and it is so helpful. Congrats on baby 2 and fingers crossed for a smooth delivery.

That was a great installment Heidi! Loved the Halloween decorations. :goodvibes

Thanks for letting me know about where to find the car antenna toppers. :thumbsup2

I have a question that maybe you can help me with. My oldest son's teacher is getting married while we're at Disney World. I'd like to get her something while we're there. Any ideas? Only thing I can think of is a special picture frame - I imagine they have ones with maybe a Mickey and Minnie in bridal ware? I'm not a shopper so I need help! :rotfl:
