Yes, we planned the entire trip around where we would eat. Problem? Complete! 3/11!!

Subscribing!

:wave2: welcome! I'm almost done though :sad1:

DH and I also shared the Shawarma Platter last month. We loved it so much we went back a second time to get the same thing. It was one of our absolute favorite CS meals of the trip and because of it we will be going to Marrakesh in October.

Great reviews!

He fell in love with the dish when he visited Israel. I think the wraps would be tasty too! I really enjoyed the Tangerine Cafe, I'll definitely be back :thumbsup2

Up next: a return to Kona...

A little back story on our breakfast: my boyfriend isn't a Disney guy  (I know!) But since it was my birthday, he humored me and we went for the day...we also spent some time visiting my parents, so it's not like we just flew down and back! :lmao: I wish I had that kind of money :goodvibes So when I got back from the first February trip I took, I had all the food pictures on my camera and he saw the Tonga Toast from my last breakfast at Kona. He decided he had to try it and asked if we could fit it in anywhere. Ummm yes! :woohoo:

Our original plan was just to wing it and see if Kona was taking walk-ups that morning. We had no idea what time we'd be up and moving the next day, so I really didn't want to tie us down to an ADR. So around 9am that morning, it looked like we'd be ready to leave soon (we didn't stay on Disney property.) So I called Disney Dining and made an ADR for 945 :yay: Then the power at our hotel promptly went out :scared: And didn't come back on. It was stormy in the area. So we made do and left earlier than planned for Kona. Got there about 930, and were seated pretty close to our ADR time. I'm glad I called because since the weather was gross, I think a lot of people were delaying their start at the parks that morning. (It was supposed to clear up before lunchtime and it did.)

When we got seated, I knew I was having the TOnga Toast, but my boyfriend changed his mind and chose the Big Kahuna!! He liked the sound of the pancakes. That meant I was going to have to share :sad2:

I forgot to take pictures this morning except for this one:

I'm sure he's so happy I just posted that :rotfl:
We really enjoyed breakfast again this morning at Kona. The service was great and the food was very yummy. The good news is that I got full and so sharing wasn't a problem ;)

Thanks for sharing all this. I am going to Kona Cafe for my birthday at the end of the month, so I loved getting to read (and see!) your review of there. I can't wait! Thanks again! :yay:

I'm really bummed, this is my last report and I have no plans to go back :sad1: I might just have to start some trip reports...I'll post the link when I start it! :thumbsup2

My parents met back up with us at DTD so we could be whisked away to the airport :sad1:

I had heard a lot of good things about Wolfgang Puck, so I persuaded everyone to forgo our usual Earl of Sandwich and try something new

I actually managed to take pictures of everyone's meals this time :woohoo:

Here we go!

We'll start with me...I ordered the Four Cheese Oven Baked Macaroni. My meal came with a choice of salad, I chose Caesar:

And my Macaroni:

I was highly disappointed in this. The portion size was smaller than I expected and do you see how yellow it is? And it was so bland! It seemed to me like they made up a whole pan of it and then were just dishing it out...in other words it tasted like it had been sitting around all day. I think I was expected something totally different. This would be good for a kid. Not for an adult who's totally into all different kinds of Mac & Cheese. Idk, I just wasn't into this at all. The salad was good though. And I stole some food off of everyone else's plate :goodvibes

My boyfriend had the Chicken Pesto Focaccia:

He wasn't feeling all that hungry (remember he ate most of his breakfast and finished mine!) and still managed to eat most of this. So it must have been good! ;)

My Mom had the butternut squash soup (oops! forgot the picture :guilty: ) which she loved, and then the Roast Beef and Cheddar Focaccia:

She also really enjoyed.

My Dad had this:

For the life of me I can't remember what it was. Which is really a shame because he was raving about it. He was quite funny about it really. Since he knew I was doing this he looked at me and said, rather seriously, "This is 5 stars." :confused3 I didn't know I was using a rating system :rotfl: I asked him out of how many and he gave me a confused look and said, "Well out of 5 of course." Oh, my bad. So whatever my Dad had...that's highly recommended. I'm going to guess it's the Mediterranean Vegetable Fire Roasted Focaccia Melt. It's the only one on the menu served with the salad he didn't touch ;)

Overall, I would totally go back here. I just wouldn't get the macaroni!! Everyone else loved their dishes, so it still gets a :thumbsup2

That chicken pesto sandwich is my fav and we just had the roast beef one this past Sunday and omigod it was awesome!

So sorry your review is over, I loved every minute of it and cannot wait until you start another one!

Sorry the report is over, it was so wonderful while it lasted.:) I am now totally craving that unnamed item your dad had, as well as your tuna dinner at Kona. I'll definitely have to try both items on our next trip!

Thanks so much for the reviews - Wolfgang Puck Express remains a firm favourite of ours - a must for every trip.

I am sad your reviews are over but thanks for posting them.

THANK YOU for the Kona dinner review! I LOVE Ohana even though I'm a vegetarian, but on my next trip I'm going with one other person who's also a veggie. So it just doesn't make any sense at all to go to Ohana. I love the Poly though, so I am thinking about trying Kona!

Kona was really really tasty. Obviously we both had meat, but I don't think you'd be disappointed in whatever they have on the menu for you! Food was excellent!

Bummer you didn't like the mac & cheese, that's my fav! I hope they haven't changed it:confused:

btw, what kind of camera do you have? your pix are awesome:thumbsup2
